Artsee ... when you put your photo in Facebook, open it up to the big size, then copy the big size from FB, not the little one in the comment box.

That should enable your pictures to be bigger on here.

    Artsee,

THANK YOU - I'd never heard of Making Color Sing - and it MUST be wonderful ;) as there is now an Anniversary Edition - which I just bought. The other one, is only available used, BUT, from her website, I found a FABULOUS page about her "technique" -  off to POUR some watercolor.  I LOVE IT.  Still want ( need) to learn to draw well enough to make realistic paintings, but it's all a process.  I've only been doing it for about 2 years - my "reward" to myself for finally overcoming the "hand problems" SE's of Arimidex.  Hard to paint or draw with wrist splints...

thanks again - your work is INSPIRING!

Well this got too big. No room to write about it. This is called 'Running of the goats'. From a mission of mercy trip.

Thanks BinVa...for the tip. Did I do something wrong? I did click on the big one instead of the small comment box one.

NOT TOOOOOO BIG   Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.  Were you there - or is it from a photograph? Do you do much plein air?  What watercolor paints do your use?  I've got a few Winsor Newtons, and a Pike Palette, and some "good" brushes.

I learned my lesson buying "student" quality when I was buying soft pastels.  The artist grade is SO superior.  I still use the soft pastels, and also love Faber Castell Albrecht Durer water color pencils. Really only "playing" have had very little training, except for drawing classes these past 2 years.  But I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Ordered the Jean Dobie book, can't remember if I said that.  Loe the videos her has on line too.

Thanks guys, but I kind of wanted to write something like you do Lisa. All in one post. Oh well, I'm an artist not a techy.Undecided

My friend was over there last fall and she ended up getting this picture which I painted because I LOVED it and she was gracious enough to let me paint it. She's also a BC survivor.

SunflowersM- I use DaVinci watercolors, they are high quality and you can get the big 37 ml tubes which I like, and some (certain colors) in WN. I paint Plein Aire whenever I can. Finishing in my studio. Outside painting is a challenge for watercolor. Dries too quick. One of the groups I belong to paint ONLY outside and must have a waterway in them. They work with the LNRP which makes sure our waterways and water basins are kept up to snuf. Did I tell you I was in their 2012 calendar competition and I had a painting accepted. That's huge. It'll represent the month of September. You will love Dobies book. She paints only with transparent wc.

Oh, I forgot...the picture was from Kenya.

Thank you...I used to have a huge bush of these Angle (or Devil) trumpets in my garden.

Unfortunately they didn't reseed themselves after many years so now all I have is the painting to remind me how beautiful they really were.

I can't remember how to attach images to these notes.... there is a little icon with a picture that when you opein it says to "insert image" but it requires a URL.... how do you just paste an image from your computer?  I have a couple of things that I would like to share.  Thanks.

I have really enjoyed the artistic creations from you all!  Thanks!

    Lovely work Artsee.

Love the Kenya scene! I was in Africa and, looking at your paintings brings back the memory of the timelessness of the landscape, its people and animals.  Well done!

I also love the flowers. They look as though they have just burst into bloom.....gorgeous.!!!

So painterly...explain your creativity. You must paint correct? I'm new on this thread so excuse me if you have to repeat yourself, but I'd like to know. If you paint do you have work to show?

n3ypd- Someone was very helpful for me yesterday and said the easiest way is...if you have a picture on Facebook, all you do is click on the picture and 'copy', then bring up this post box and click in it and 'paste'. I didn't have the URL so this was supper easy. still wish they a little smaller.

artsee - a calendar!  how wonderful - is it the gorgeous flowers you posted?  I just LOVE that website you posted - must be wonderfl to have such a creative group around you.  I didn't know when I moved to this area in western MA how FILLED it was with creative, artistic people.  My classes ( if I get into the ones I want) start in a few weeks - really looking forward to it.

Still haven't found a watercolor painting teacher - but the books are a great help.

artsee, put the words you want to say in the comment box BEFORE you bring the picture in and then you'll have the words with the picture.

This is 'Rooster lunch'.It's a rooster on 'Hawaii" and I decided to give him a friend to dine with.

My Art group made 300 of these little 8X10 pieces of art as a fund raiser and sold them for a $20.00 raffle. They all sold for a nice $ 6,000. Not bad.

artsee, there were 300 pics of the roosters or just any 8x10 picture? How do you frame them? I LOVE framing my photos, I find that is half the art. AND I name each picture I frame and put it on the other side of my signature. I have a LOT of pictures up!
