In Treatment Spring/Summer 2011
Any one else in treatment??
My story: found a lump while breastfeeding my baby (then 5 mos), went to urgent care 1 week later thinking it was an infection.
Dx 3/11/11, 2 days after my 33rd birthday, via mammogram & ultrasound (it was very clear that it was cancer just from pics). Biopsy showed just DCIS. L breast mastectomy 4/6/11 with recon (expander placed). Pathology: 9cm grade 3 DCIS, 2 spots micro IDC TNBC, 2/4 nodes ++ with TNBC. Axillary node dissection & port placement 5/13/11, 0/11 nodes (YEAH!).
Dose dense AC started May 24th x 4. Weekly Taxol started July 19th & ENDING SEPT 6th!!
Sept 20th going to have the expander & port removed & 35x rads to follow.
Anyone else going through treatment this spring or summer? I would love to say, "hi!" and support each other.
~Stephanie

Stephanie - I'm doing Xeloda this summer. I will be done with it (hopefully) at the end of September and then onto AI, Femara. No rads, but I'm here to support you through it the best I can!

Nice to meet you! I know there is a chemo section, but just wondering about the younger folks in treatment!
Sorry you are in mets chemo. Hope you get Femara and NED soon!!

Hi Stephanie,
I am also TNBC (Stage 1 or 2a... my tumor size was between the two, no positive nodes) and I started treatment in June. I had 4 rounds of DD AC followed by 4 rounds of DD Taxol - my last Taxol treatment is this Thursday - just two days away!!! I am pretty excited but also scared, which I hear is pretty normal. Back in April when I was diagnosed I had a nipple-sparing double mastectomy with TE put in. I don't have any further surgeries scheduled yet but I want to get silicone implants ASAP and hope to be done with everything by Thanksgiving. I am 26 yo.
How have you been doing? How do you feel about treatment ending? We've made it so far already and hopefully it's all uphill from here!

I'm feeling pretty crappy right now. Taxol crash from Tues. But, I'm excited to end Chemo. Tues is my last!! Woot! WOOT!

Sorry that you're feeling bad now but at least you have a huge milestone to look forward to on Tuesday! I'm really excited for you.
