    Gracie - so very sorry to hear about your progression. Sounds terrible - damn this cancer. Don't know what kind of phone plan you have, but if you'd like me post for you, I'd be happy to do so. Pmail me if that's something that would work for you. Or - is that voice recognition software affordable now? Don't know anything about it. Your bad news puts my whiny little complaints in perspective! We'll all be thinking about you.

    These are the three minis that we gave to away in May.  Delilah (the mom), Damien (the dad) and April (daughter).  Two little girls 7 and 9 years old now have them.  They live around the corner so we see them all the time.  They are in horsey utopia!

    We used to have 4 ponies, quarter horses and a thoroughbred as well.  They have earned angels winds in the last few years.  We are looking for homes (think we have one) for the last two minis in prep for selling the farm and moving.

    Hi, all! Thank you for your kind wishes, hugs, good thoughts, positive energy and whatever lovely things you threw my way. And thanks to my good friend E for keeping folks updated. I am about at the end of my allotted iPad time, so I will have to catch you all up on the surgery etc. Suffice it to say that heavy-duty narcotic pain meds did me more harm than good, and that I am now down to only tylenol. I hope to change back into Human tomorrow at my post surgery appointment and get my 6 drains removed (ugh).

    Gracie, I am so sorry to hear of your progression. Gentle hugs to you.



    Glad all our friends made it through Irene OK, heartbroken over the stunning devastation and sickened beyond belief that there are people evil enough in the world who don't want to help them. I hope people understand now what they bought themselves and will move to correct.



    AnneW, smashing calendar and you are stunningly beautiful.



    Otter, re your comment about mustard, truthfully I am not sure if I had had previous major surgery that I would have had the mustard. I was the most prepared patient they had ever had, but there was no way to know beforehand what dilaudid would do to me.



    But I am much better now and so happy to be surrounded by my loving and supportive friends here at the BCO B&G. Fresh lime & 7up for me, since I am still on tylenol.



    Huge hugs to all ... Tomorrow is another day and another post, preferably as a human.

    HL  so good to hear from you.Smile  I hope you are healing well.  Good luck with the drain removal.  Once they are gone you will feel like doing cartwheels.

    Gracie!! So distressed about the aadrenal mets. That's really unusual, isn't it? I'll bet you are exhausted, with your adrenals whacked. Please rest, but keep us posted if you can!

    HappyLibby, welcome back to the land of the living!! Just keep taking those meds, and measure your progress weekly, not daily. My bilateral SGAP stage 1 is a blur. Except I was always so tired!! Found out later that I was anemic, and living at 7000 feet just made it that much worse. Drink, walk, take pills, rest. Then do it again...

    PIP, love those little horses. I just want to snuggle with one. I had a Shetland pony when I was a kid. Those can be wicked little critters! If you can ride one of those, you can ride anything! I outgrew him fast and got a little quarter horse. God, I loved to ride him. Now, I won't ride. It's too complicated. Can't just throw on a bridle and swing up bareback and take off like the wind. Gotta have a helmet. Can't ride in just any pasture, or on just any road...Hmmmm. Sort of like my bike.

    Gracie, I'm so sorry to hear your news.  Alpal mentioned voice recognition software -- if you have an iPhone or iPad, there are now free and low-cost voice recognition apps that are based on the more expensive "Dragon" voice recognition software.  The free app handles only a minute of speaking at a time -- but free is a lot cheaper than the full software package...

    HL -- so great to "see" you here -- good luck with saying good riddance to drains tomorrow!

    Bren, so sorry for the frustrations! Althenas idea sounds good! Also how about going to the places directly??? Kinda like applying for a job except you present them a business pamphlet outlining your services along with a business card???? You can make all those on your computer so the only cost there is the paper and ink and your time! Sometimes a friendly drop in helps people connect so when they do need your service they will think,,,,oh ya! That nice lady we met does that, call her! Networking is key these days!

    Pip, the ponies are adorable! Just my size.......I am too afraid to ride anything bigger!

    Libby, that sure was a long haul for you, hope each day is better! Once those yucky drains are gone you'll feel so much better!

    It's only 6:15 am, but hopefully the BCO B&G will open again - HL - we have a drink named specially for you  the Libby Libation. The problem is that the bartender, whom I have never met, wrote and told me that you had given instructions for how to make it but then refused to reveal what he/she termed the secret ingredients without your consent. He/she said that the drink would be "explosive"...I was intrigued, to say the least. Feel free to share your TNT cocktail - lol! I am sure we will all need it. I am speculating that it begins with Gin and Tonic. What else did you order that they put in? Bartender's mum!Innocent

    Libby .. so happy to see you.  I hope you get your drains out today!

    CrazyDaisy .. wonderful idea!  I did that very thing when I lived in San Diego.  I went door to door with my brochures and free pens to every doctors office in San Diego County.  It worked too, as I got a number of clients that way.  Can't do that in this little town.  All the medical offices are associated with the one hospital we have, and they are all going to electronic records.

    Athena .. hope the bar is open for some very hot, very black coffee this a.m.!  I like your idea of advertising and did some checking into different psychological journals, etc.  It's expensive, but might be worth it .. need to make some phone calls today.

    HL - 6 drains - yikes, and no super pain meds, you've got a lot of story material for us.  SO GOOD to hear you voice, and know you are no longer a Borg.  REST. As Anne said, drink LOTS of water, heal.

    Those are the CUTEST ponies I've ever seen.  Just want to hug them.  Also, make bracelets out of their manes, but don't tell them that part :)

    Pip - Love your ponies - my grandfather was from the Shetland Islands and there is a picture of him on a visit back there with a very small full grown horse (it was the size of a border collie and smooth haired) on his lap.

    Thank you ladies for all your kind words. My husband took the week off to look after me so I can post at least a couple more times with his help. After that we'll be bringing in a nurse to help look after me a few hours a day. The voice recognition software sounds like a good idea. If I can get on the computer, I'll certainly give it a try. The saddest thing about all this is because of my extensive mets, they're not going to treat it. Onc says he wants to concentrate on quality of life. I don't think he gets it that his vision of quality of life differs from mine. I would simply like a little more time with my kids and he just wants to keep me comfortable. My husband is going to check into treatment in some other countries....maybe we can still find a miracle. I love you all and enjoyed reading and gettting to know you guys. I just don't have the strength to keep up with it all anymore. So sorry I couldn't be there to support you guys in the last month too. I'll keep in touch if and when I can, and please forgive me for not knowing what's going on with everyone.

    Nothing to forgive Gracie - I hope we continue to be enjoyable reading for you and that we keep you company that way. I also hope you find a doctor who appreciates what quality of life means to YOU. So very sorry about everything. I hope that you are as comfortable as can be, and that you get some joy out of each day.

    Your bar stool is here for you always. If it's empty, no one will sit on it, right bartender? Take a cushion and relax by the window if that is more comfortable.

    HL - good to hear you are on the mend.

    AnnNYC - I think we are twins - only 23 days until my 59th. DH says this trip is my present.

    Well, we have finally left the tour from hell behind - yippee!!!! We're FREEEEEEE

    We are in Edinburgh - I love it. We were early for our room after we luckily found it by accident. One of the guys from the tour drove 5 of us from Dundee. So DH dragged me up to the castle - I did it!!!!. I am so glad to have seen it. Our hotel is gorgeous - we have a fridge, microwave, toaster etc. I can hear bagpipes through the window. We are just yards off the Royal Mile not far down from the castle. DH said he can sit on the toilet and look out to Arthur's Seat :) We are high up on the 5th floor and have great views. We are right near Parliament Sq DH says, who BTW is snoring right now.

     We found a Mexican placec for lunch - really good. We also went to a pub DH visited 17 yrs ago and they have live music, so we'll go there tonight.

    I've missed you all. I've taken another 24 hr internet access - cheaper than that Hilton dump - so I'll be on a bit until tomorrow afternoon. We're here for 2 nights and then off to find Nessie :)

    ((((Gracie)))) - I hope your DH can also be looking at clinical trials of the very, very latest for your type of cancer.  Please know there is always a barstool with your name on it at the BCOB&G.  AND, anything you can think of that may help  - helping with research? or anything - please make sure & let us know.

    There are SO many very wise women, and if we know what to be looking for - there is always that Miracle waiting to be found, for you.  More gentle hugs....
