    Jean, I believe Lilyn was the obvious poster about judgement on the previous page. She totally misunderstood our thoughts on the atheist thread and I'm too tired of defending myself to explain how / why she got it wrong!!!

    Thank you Barbe.  I've been really enjoying this thread.  Are you physically and mentally tired?  I've had a couple blah weeks myself.  The whole second cancer in my left breast could send me into a tizzy which makes me feel worse.  I've read how the economy has really impacted you and your husband.  You are not alone in that.  I don't want to burden you with my stuff.  Anyway, thank you for your recent posts.  I look forward to growing with you and the other women here.  God bless you Barbe with every good thing.

    As I was driving to work today I was listening to Guy Doud.  He recited this poem which is so meaningful today:

    Does anyone else have any favorite radio programs of faith that they listen too?

    A friend of mine has a broadcast ministry and in one of his messages he mentioned that we are all just minutes away from losing our witness.  By this he meant that a few minutes of poor behavior or words unchecked can cause someone who is watching us to lose trust in our witness. (That may not have been his exact words, but the meaning is still there.)

    Good point Meece. Just like someone dropping in on this thread may interpret incorrectly our thoughts and comments!

    Padiddle, it`s not the economy that is affecting me so poorly, it`s my health. I`m presently on short-term-disability and headed for long-term.

    thanks for the input, Meece. thats' why im always thinking about the quote "without a word".. and try to remember that the tongue (or the fingers that type) can be a sharp instrument.. both of those things test me on a daily basis........3jays

    Someone PM`d me and brought up a good point about this thread. We have never quoted scripture in our posts, which left alone the question of what `faith`we practiced. This has just been a spiritual thread. Perhaps if scripture isn`t posted it will bring the thread back to the gentle hymns and songs of God that gave us all such peace.

    "I Come to the Garden" is a song of Christian faith.

    A lot of the songs posted here for the last year & a half have been based on scripture, Barbe. My screen name is scripture.  I'm not quite sure why posting a verse would become a problem.  I love this thread in all it's meandering pathways thru a lovely garden of pictures, songs, poetry, & quotes.  And I love all the gardenettes who gather here. 

    It's day 2 of my vacation & today I have been working my a$$ off in my "garden" (read that back yard & it's very un-garden like, but at least it looks better!)

    Eph 3:12 -   It is sedum up close.  I love this thread as I am a gardener and have taken many pics. 

    Barbe:  Whoever PM you is mistaken.  I looked through the first 25 pages of this thread where I found the following scriptures:  Psalm 91, Proverbs 22:6, Matthew 18:20, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Matthew 6:28, John 3:16, Ephesians 3:17-19, Psalm 146:3-5.  There were many, many lyrics from hymns from the Christian faith.  There were many prayers "In Jesus name."  Seemed like a Christian thread to me.  I saw a picture of a bible on those first 25 pages too.

    Scripture is living water...Everyday I try to drink deeply from the heart of God. Scripture says that faith comes by hearing God's Word. The Bible is filled with hope, mercy, redemption and love. The reason I too love the old hymns is that it is filled with Scripture. It's God's truth in song. The more I medictate on it the stronger my love for God grows.

     I noticed another thread that is dedicated to only songs and poems. This thread as I understand is dedicated to fellowship in the garden. To share what God is teaching us or to encourage others passing through this lovely garden. I used to get up really early in the morning, and go to the garden. I always sung "I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses...the voice I hear is always near...etc...God's voice. I suppose this is why I read and responded to this thread.

    I love that song. I come to the garden alone. I sing that in the car sometimes to feel comforted.

    I think scripture is powerful, and God's word never comes back void. I was drawn to this thread because of the scripture I saw on here Smile

    I also, responded to this thread before all others. it was the soong that got me. then, over a year ago; i was searching for a song, and yes, these lovely ladies helped me so much...much of my faith is also fed by songs, and hyms. because of our diverse backgrounds, i love the old hyms you ladies know. a change in religion left me not too many from childhood. only the ones my nana taught me. #1 was " i come to the Garden".. i love " and He walks with me, and He talks with me " the best. truly encourages me to know i'm not alone.

       to answer Barbes' point, i have also stayed non sectarian if thats' the right word... try very hard to keep my belief system to myself, and still talk about how i love

    the Lord, and find my Peace in this garden..........3jays

    Padiddle, do you have lots of sedum?  I didn't realize just how many varieties of sedum there are.  I have recently become very interested in succulents and have run across various sedum.  When my uncle who was an avid gardener died I rescued many of his plants since there was no one left there to care for them.  I have a beautiful sedum he called "bride's bouquet".  It isn't blooming right now but I will see if I can find a picture.

    Hmmm, many it isn`t the quoting of scripture then because I LOVE the above quoted songs. What the heck!! Maybe it WAS just Lilyn`s comments about our reaction to the atheist thread that turned the thread around. I do feel it turning back so I thank those that stood by me as I struggled!

    I have just found this thread, thank you all so much for the wonderful postings.  I go for my 2nd tx today and this was just what I needed to see and read.  I love some of the old hymns/songs, it was so nice to read thru them and hear them as I remember them being sung.  I will check back here regularly now, add it as one of my favs.  I have mostly been on the August 2011 chemo thread.

    Oh My Gosh! I so needed to see these beutiful picture and the song! Thank you Meece and Mum! I have my 6mos onc checkup coming and was feeling a little anxious. After prayer and reading and seeing this thread I am at peace again! Thank you, thank you! Love ya Barbe! :)
