Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze.

Country Roads - John Denver (always liked that song)

Think about how many times / I have fallen
Spirits are using me / larger voices callin'
What heaven brought you and me / cannot be forgotten

(edit to add, windlass you were close, it was Dark Lady)

    Southern Cross....CSNY

reminds me of an old fav...

    There were children cryin

    And colors flyin

    All around the chosen ones

I like that one too... After the Gold Rush - Neil Young

Lying next to her by the ocean
Reaching out and touching her hand,
    Whispering your secret emotion
    Magic in a magical land.

    it's Mozambique by Bob Dylan

(another guy, like Neil Young, who writes great songs but has a lousy singing voice LOL)

Through all the cities and all these towns / It's in my blood and it's all around
I love you now like I loved you then / This is the road and these are the hands
From Mozambique to those Memphis nights / The Khyber Pass to Vancouver's lights
Knock me down get back up again / You're in my blood I'm not a lonely man

I agree about Bob Dylan's voice, always hated it, but love his lyrics.  However, I like Neil Young's voice.

LIfe is a Highway Rascal Flatts

Won't you look down on me Jesus;  You've got to help me make a stand;  You've got to see me through another day;  My body's aching and my time is at hand; I won't make it any other way

oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain, I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end...

Fire & Rain - James Taylor

There's nothin' you can do to turn me away
    Nothin' anyone can say
You're with me now and as long as you stay...

Loving you's the right thing to do (Carol King? Or is it Carly Simon...? Maybe Roberta Flack...)

...don't have much money, but, boy, if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live...

    Your Song - Elton John

    Love Elton John, Your Song

A singer in a smokey room; a smell of wine and cheap perfume; For a smile they can share the night.......

    that's Jungleland - Bruce Springsteen

If you wake up and don't want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,
Open your eyes and look at the day,
You'll see things in a different way.

Jungle Love - Steve Miller Band

Walking through forests of palm tree apartments ---
scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents
down by the waterhole --- drunk every Friday ---
eating their nuts --- saving their raisins for Sunday.

...I'll write on your tombstone and thank you for dinner

This game that we animals play is a winner, well that's

    Bungle in the Jungle...Jethro Tull

Turn up the spot lights one and all

and let the feeling get down to your soul

The music's so loud you can feel the sound

    Reachin' for the sky

    Tearin' up the ground

it's all part of my Rock & Roll Fantasy - Bad Company

I feel so unsure as I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor.
As the music dies something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen and you're its sad goodbye.
    I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm

    Goodbye Stranger - Supertramp

(Suzanne, you got the right artist but the song is titled Careless Whispers  :-)

Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems
