question
So it's been 1 1/2 yrs since diagnosis (hard to believe!) I had my exchange surgery this past November. I haven't been to my bs since last October. I have had a small lump on my neck for about 3 weeks. I'm not sick and haven't been sick. It's round and hard. For now I am just planning on showing it to my surgeon when I see her in Oct. It's so hard to not let your mind go to the 'what if' place. Just tell me it's all fine please and I am just being paranoid or ridiculous or dramatic or whatever. Thanks.

Mom3band... Can't really tell you what your lump is, but I had one in my shoulder near where my port was... Called my bs freaking out... She said it was probably just a cyst... Not to worry... Not BC. It shrunk a week later and now I have something similar in the small of my back... Again round... Not painful. All just to say... It is probably nothing, but show your MD.

Thanks starbeauty!

Mom3 - could it be a lipoma?
-
I don;t know....what do they feel like?
-
Almost certain to be unrelated. But why not go to you primary care physician and ask what it is. I started having leg pain and immediately started to "go there.". After several weeks of low-level worry, I went to my internist. He took an x-ray (mostly for my peave of mind I think.). He said it was probably tendon-related and prescribed alleve. Long story short:why put youself through two months of worry.

Ok, thanks dsj. I called my GP today and she said if it isn't gone in 2 months to see an ENT. I guess I'll just try and pretend it isn't there and go with my Oct appt with the BS! I'm sure it's nothing!

Hi Mom3band1g, it's so hard to get the brain around the 'it's probably nothing'. In early June I was shocked to feel a lump at the top of new foob (right mastectomy August 2009) and so between now and then I go back and forth....it's something, it's nothing, did I really even feel anything??? You know how that goes. So finally, last week I asked my hubby to feel the area and tell me if he could feel a lump. He could. So, lo and behold, tomorrow I have my six month follow-up appointment with my BS and of course today I can't really feel if there is a lump there!! UGH, I really think my mind likes to play games.

J9w- your post made me laugh! Maybe it was a bit of fat necrosis? I have a little lump near my sternum but it comes and goes and I'm pretty sure it's fat or something else benign. It's kind of rubbery so it doesn't really bother me. Hope your appt goes well tomorrow! I skipped my last 6m check up and am kind of kicking myself. good luck!

Well, now I'm a little more worried. The lump is getting bigger. I was wrong about my appt and it's actually Sept 6. I don't know what this could be. I really don't think it's bc related but what the heck?
-
I still think it's unlikelynto be related, but It's good that you can talk to your BC tomorrow. Let us know how things turn out, please
-
I agree with dsj that it's most likely nothing to be worried about, but please do let us know how it turns out. Wishing you the very best.
