Annual Mammo All Good - That Makes Two in a Row :)
PFEW!!!!! I'm used to being in the breast center waiting room for hours for my annual mammo -- as expected I got called back in to have some additional mammo. images taken after the radiologist read the standard four taken and I also have an ultrasound -- but it is still stressful wondering and waiting. EVERYTHING IS NORMAL!
I passed on the tamoxifen (and probably will continue that decision), so no more appointments until 12 months -- then mammo and ultrasound. Breast surgeon doesn't even want to see me anymore, I'll be seeing his nurse assistant (he said he'd be just down the hallway if there was a need i.e. mammo and/or ultrasound revealed something).
PFEW! HURRAH! Wishing you all a lovely day, I'm off to celebrate with dh and kids!

Yea! I have my appt with the bs coming up in Oct....first one in a year. I had to cancel my 6m check up but am feeling like once a year is enough. We'll see what she says! So glad you had a good check up! Yea to no Tamoxifen (I dont' take it either)!

Thanks, mom3band1g, and may all go well with your Oct. appointment!
I think it's so important for us all to share good news milestones, because it helps provide a more accurate prognosis -- I know that my mental state sure appreciates reading other's NED reports.

I am really happy for you too. And I also have my second mammogram since surgery in October. I saw my oncologist in July and he said no reason to worry, but of course one does (even if in the back of her head). So it is really good to hear good news.

Congratulations! I believe I go in October but not sure how that works with having surgery the previous month...?

Thanks, dsj, and may all go well with your Oct. appointment! I'd be keeping those great words from your onc. in the front of my head if/when the worry started creeping in (like the night before the mammo and while sitting in the waiting room).
Emaline, did you have rads? My bs scheduled my first mammogram for 6 months post-surgery and then my second one (that I just did) was a year after that. But before I began rads, my rad.onc. felt it was important to have a "baseline mammo" because she'd seen too many women unnecessarily worried when their 6 month mammo showed something of concern that turned out to be just healing from rads. so I did that one; didn't even think to count the post-op mammo, guess I should have, guess it's like your 1 month one. Best of luck! -
