YSC ladies moving over from FB?
Comments

Hi, Patty and Melissa!
One question. I put my stats in the "signature" line, but it doesn't seem to be showing up. Is this how you guys did it?
Mimi
-
Mimi---If you click on the "my home" button in the center of the screen towards the top, it gives you a place to edit your diagnosis and that's what shows up as your signature.
-
Farkle, farkling. farkler, farkle sakes, farkle off, any which way you like it! Not that using the real McCoy bothers me.
-
OK, I am here, but not sure if I will be here much. Love you all.
-
Okay, testing out my sig.....
-
I can't remember how to change our sigs here.... Any hints??
-
Bany, I just click my name at the top of the page, that brings me to my profile or stat page or whatever it's called, and on the right there's an "edit" button. Then I went to the "sig" line....
-
Here I am!
-
I'm here too. It seems there is another PamB (or maybe I registered with my old email and I've totally spaced it? could be...that would have been during chemo). Anyway, present! xoxo
-
I love the "my favorite topics" feature. - FYI
-
Hello Ladies I came over too!
-
Oh lordy...I had no idea what I was in for when I opened this thread ;P
Welcome ladies...I hope wherever you are coming from, you bring only the good neighbors, it's always the cranky b*tches that complain about the ufcking language. As if it's that big a deal to just go away if you find it offensive.
Anyway, I digress...I see our senior resident, blue, has already welcomed you...and I do as well. I hope you can have a peaceful place to gather and support each other over here!
Happy Hour is underway....come on in!
-
Yup, you'll get complainers.....I should know!
If you get bored though, and I can't imagine that happening, we are on the thread I say yes, you say no. It's a free-for-all and hidden from the active topics because we are the forum loud mouths. Look for us on the "Friendship Forum", if you like.
-
FYI YSC designates any diagnosis under 45 as young! Glad y'all are here and having a good time.
-
Is this our home? LOL
-
Blue...if you're here, who's tending bar?? There's a hurricane on the way...we need to get it while we can!
Cookie...until I saw this thread, I'd never heard of YSC...but it's nice to know there's another place I can turn to for a laugh...I was 42 when I was diagnosed...this place was a life saver for me. Some of the "old timers" (a mental state, not a physical) here know just how to cheer a girl up when ufcking cancer beats ya down...
I hope you can get your group all rounded up...post or use the PM function to message us if you need help with any of the set up or features..
-
The bar is always open, even through hurricanes!
-
Thanks, Lovely MissC! It worked fine! I am now an 11 year survivor, instead of a 9 year survivor!! LOL, time flies!
Thank you to all for the warm welcomes! We are a fun bunch!!
Bany
PS If any of you BCO sisters posted or read the Stage IV board a couple of years ago and remember Angela (BLESSED4 you may remember me as I posted for her at times....
-
Glad to see people making there way over here, this could be our new home.
We are a loud group, but supportive! -
Loud - oh hell fucking yeah, we are!!!
-
Hey girls!!! Nice to see everyone over here!! I actually had a login from 2007 so this was just too easy!!!!
-
Ratbait, I met you in Atlanta. Not sure about the others.
-
I am significantly happier already.
Cori -
Well, as long as the Rack is happy.....
-
Cori has excellent timing because I was feeling very depressed and out of touch with so many of you!
-
Well, I am here. I have an account already apparently. Can't believe I remembered the name
Still reserving judgment. I like swearing. Worry about trolls.
Someone PM me and tell me who the trolls are on FB please. (Oh jeez- its just like YSC... I don't know the secrets so I need to ask!)
-
I think the timing works out too with us coming into fall. I don't know if this would have worked as well in the summer when everyone is so busy.
FTD--I am out of the loop on trolls too.
-
Good morning, I am not going to intrude on your thread, but I always look through topics when I get on my computer in the morning to see if there is anything new and yours caught my eye. Being a nosey person, I was just wondering what is YSC? I notice that you talk about FB...is it a part of face book. I have never been a huge fan of face book mainly because all these people I was never friends with in school suddenly popped up out of the woodwork wanting to be my friend. The only reason I joined in the lst place was to look at pictures of my friend's niece and then next thing I knew information was popping up about all these people I did not know from Adam because the kid's mother must have at least 300 friends. I unfriended her and now am friends with some other women who had breast cancer in a locked group.
I myself have found the threads on BC.org to be wonderful for both support and information and I feel like I have made some good friends on here. My oncologist doesn't like them, but he and I don't always see eye to eye on a lot of things. I always come on here and find out what SEs other women are having with treatments so I know what to expect when I start a new one. I am also on many threads where we don't even talk about cancer which is nice. I am sure you will like it here.
Re trolls.....I am not sure what constitutes a troll since I always thought they were some sort of fictional character that lived under a bridge and when I was a kid I had a troll doll. But I think the trolls on here were people who liked to stir up trouble....I never really got involved, but found the bickering and retorts going back and forth to be quit fascinating. It is hard to believe that when women have something as serious as breast cancer to worry about that they still had time for pettiness and backstabbing. I actually left one thread because of a person who just liked to stir the pot. You don't see too much of it anymore because the moderators are good about keeping things under control. The beauty of this site is if you don't like what is going on with a thread, there is always another one to go to.
Again, I did not mean to butt in....am just curious as to what YSC is. I hope you all are happy on here and have many happy days, even years, ahead of you. Marybe

Maybe, no problems with being curious. There is a large group of us who met and posted on young survival coalition. They abruptly and with no warning changed from a message board platform, similar to this, to a social network site like facebook. Killed the boards and everyone scattered. Mist to facebook. But in my opinion facebook wasn't really a good place for this kind of support so we set off to find a new home. I agree on the trolls, we just ignore.
I know the fuck saying could be an issue, hoping it's not if we stick to our own thread, but I like the idea of moderators kicking trolls asses. May they had issues after the ysc troll and they changed policy and started acting...
I dropped Elle at college yesterday..
