Iodine,Omega 3,Thyroid -confused

Options

Hi Ladies,

I just received my Iodine test results back and they are 624 with range as 100-300. I've been taking Omega 3.I emailed the dr. where I get my Omega 3's and they said the Omega 3's wouldn't increase my Iodine. I can't imagine why else it would be so high.

I had been trying to see if my thyroid or Iodine levels might be why I don't feel that great. TSH came back okay. Maybe it's just life of going through BC and age and I'm just grasping at straws. Really confused at this point. Has anyone else had their Iodine tested? What was your experience?

Thanks

What kind of iodine test did you take? Do these results mean you have too much iodine or not enough? There is a lot of research that suggests iodine deficiency causes ovarian and breast issues to include cancer

The test is  Iodine/Creatinine test through ZRT labs. You order the test and then send the sample in to them. They results indicate I have too much iodine, or at least on the very high side.  It really suprised me. I guess it makes sense that Omega 3, which consists of fish would increase your iodine, and yet the dr, said the Omega 3 wouldn't increase the iodine.

I don't know what to think.
