Liver ALT numbers
My ALT count during chemo was always high. Could this be a sign of mets to the liver? My MO says it's high due to chemo. Anyone with liver mets experience this?

Your ALT will trend high when you have inflammation anywhere - like from chemo.

My numbers were high during chemo. Very normal response to the chemo. No need to worry about mets. Just get it retested when you finish chemo.

I agree this should be nothing to worry about. I had the same issue and my onc was not and is not concerned. I have been retested after chemo and the numbers are tracking downwards.

Logging in to agree with the others...my ALT number was the only number that ever left the normal range during chemo. And now, 11 weeks PFC, the number is tracking downward again.
My onc said he doesn't get concerned unless it rises to 3x the normal high.
