About once a year I request for my med records for results and doctors comments.  The only thing I did not like about my CT scan was Degenerative changes of the osseous skeleton and in particular the thoracolumbar spine are noted.  Arimidex must be raising havoc with my spine or arthritis.

Also, small nonpathologically enlarged axillary nodes are seen bilaterally. WTF.  Maybe I was fighting off a infection and did not know it.

So your doctor didn't mention these things about your scan?  If not, maybe he didn't think they were important.  I'm with you, though, I like to know these things and I like an explanation as to why these things that sound bad to us aren't as bad as they sound.  Maybe the degenerative changes are only slight?   (((((Deb)))))

Well, whadda ya know.  We have an alarm on our sump pump.  Did not know that.  Battery was dead so I replaced it and tested it and it works!  I've been in a panic wanting some sort of backup for our sump pump in case we lose power and do get 10 inches of rain.  Don't think we've ever gotten that much rain, so I don't know if our house would take on water.  Sump pump has kicked on several times this year, but I don't know if we didn't have it, if the water level would ever get high enough to get water in the basement.  It had been broken until last year when I finally had it serviced and we never had water in the basement.  Now that is it mostly finished, I want to make sure we don't start getting water. I wanted some sort of battery backup, but DH says that would be expensive- would need an inverter, etc.  so he bought a boat type pump to pump water out if it starts to get high.  I thought that would be tedious and risky -we would have to watch it all the time.  But now that I've found out we've had an alarm this whole time, I can rely on the alarm to tell me we need to take action.  I'd still like a battery backup so the sump pump can do all the work itself, though.  But at least we have a way to pump out the water before it wrecks our basement.  Of course that assumes WE don't wreck it by spilling water all over the place trying to pump it out.  NOT looking forward to this hurricane.

I will never buy a house that requires a sump pump.  Had one in our house in North Reading and we stressed out Spring and Winter.  A few times it crapped out and we had 5 to 6 inches of water in the basement with things floating around.

My CT scan indicated no malignant findings so I am not going to fret.  I will mention to my PCP next month on what to do about the degenerative findings.  I do feel pressure between my shoulder blades.

    HI Smile

WTH is going on in East Coast. I left and everything started to happen

I think need to cut my vacation short and take care of all these issues.

You all take care of yourselves. You know how they exaggerate everything. remember Gloria schools were closed and all we got was heavy rain for a short time.

I'm following all the news and will be thinking of you on Saturday.

I read all the posts and know everything going on in your life.

    Sorry I'm not addressing individually.

Last night we went BBB yes they opened one about a year agoSurprisedLaughing

I'm worried about my grapefruit plant.

DD is in Long Island and it's too heavy for my friend to lift and bring it in.

Oh - sorry about your plant, Sheila.  I hope your friend might be able to find a nice, strong young man to move it inside for you/her.  People are really nice about helping each other in times like these.    (((((((Sheila))))))))

How's everyone doing?  Hurricane preparations all set for those in the northeast?  Is it getting windy and rainy in PA, Sandy and Ducki?  Hope you are feeling better, Sandy.

Hope your brother is ok in VA, Chabba.

    Linda, are you home?

School has been canceled for Monday.  DD's classmate has already had a power blip. Now I'm getting nervous about whether I will get all my chores done before we lose power. Wind is calm, but we have had a few showers.

    Stay safe.  (((((TOL)))))

Wishing all my TOL friends from the east coast the best.  Sheila - stay where you are and don't worry about the plant :)  Go see BBB.

Try and post that you are all fine once the storm is over and you are able to do so.

It's in Maryland right now.  Just raining in Massasstwoshits.  I put a lot of stuff away that would blow away and brought in my wind chimes.  They would make a racket out there, my glass ones will break into pieces.

Be safe Ducky!  Welcome to our thread!!  Can we all hang out at your summer home after the storm?

Glad you're feeling good, Sandy!  I hear ya on the telling people repairs need to be made- only I'm telling my DH (or not-so-DH in this situation) and he doesn't participate in the conversation that needs to be had to decide what to do about it.  So it goes undone- for years at a time.  Sigh.  I'm waiting for our back porch to leak.  It usually only leaks with a storm with a driving rain at that side of the house - which this will be - with winds coming from the east to start. (or so the local weather guy's blog said...)   Oh well.  I have towels ready - they are still there from the last leak.

Hope your power stays on, but if it doesn't, I hope you can find enough things to do/read to keep entertained.

How's the laundry coming, Linda?  I'm trying to get through my ironing.  Just vacuumed -no easy feat in this humidity(dew point is 72).  I had wanted to exercise, but after vacuuming, maybe I don't have to - lol.  Still want to clean the shower(s) before I take one - before the storm hits.

No wind here yet.  It rained pretty hard a few hours ago.  I cleaned and filled my hurricane lamps and brought all my wind chimes in and put stuff away that may fly away.

Sandy, I'm so glad you were not too sick with the round of this months poison. HUGS

Can't sleep.  I hate the wind.  Not too keen on the rain either, but I've been in the front of the house, so I haven't had to hear it.  Back porch got a little water last night, but not much now.  Heard the sump pump kick on.  Side of the house is pretty puddly.  I feel like I want to go out there and shovel the water away -lol. I keep hearing the cracking of breaking branches -think it's the tall pine trees across the street.  Poor trees.  Starting to hear the freight train sound on occasion.  When you mentioned that, Chabba, I was confused because I associate that description with how people describle tornados - but now I remember I've heard that sound in the past with big winds.  When a big gust is coming, it does sound like a train.  Nature is so cool - I just wish it didn't have to be so destructive.

Power flickered a few minutes ago - then I thought I heard the sound of transformers blowing in the distance...  Going to be a long day.

    Keep safe ♥
