Thinking Out Loud.....

Oops - got ahead of myself. Mondays are so long, I always think it's Tuesday night on Monday night. Duh.
-
67 degrees here in MA. What a beautiful day it was today. Wish I didn't have to work.
-
Trying to fit in a fishing outing with my Dad for his birthday between band camp, senior picture sitting, rain Thursday (pm?) , and a hurricane - yikes! Getting up early tomorrow to head to Cabela's to get DD a fishing license before 9am band camp so she has it in case we go Wednesday morning. Hate doing things at the last minute, but that seems to be the only way to do things these days...
Hope tomorrow is as nice as today and you get a chance to enjoy it!
-
Hi Ladies - I was gone for the weekend, east of the mountains for a little winery visit and flyfishing. What I learned is never go for the winery visit first. We didn't go fishing

Chris - hopefully the hair loss is something easily remedied. I hear a lot of us get thyroid issues post BC *as if there is such a thing as post BC" so maybe it is that and can be fixed with a bit of thyroid med.
Blondie - good luck tomorrow and in the days following. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you.
Sheila - enough with the vacation,, you need to check in

Linda - hope your vacation is relaxing even with kids...:)
Deb - I was reading a thread that I can't remember at the moment but it was by a group of women who live in the Chelmsford area and were planning a meetup at a place you often mention - something like Pickens Place? Do you want me to find that group for you?
-
lol - sorry you didn't get to go fishing. Hope the wine was good.
Doc ordered some blood tests. HMG PEA panel. Don't know what that is. HMG could be human menopausal gonadotropin - hopefully thyroid is in there somewhere. The other tests were iron, B-12, and vit d. I complained of having no energy as well so she did an ekg. It showed a slight abnormality so I'll have to go for an echo. I didn't have adriamycin or herceptin, so I didn't expect heart trouble from the chemo(t/c), but she said, "Oh you did have cytoxan." Hmmm. I didn't think my heart was bad. BP is usually good and I try to run as much as I can so I thought my heart would be strong - even if I don't have the energy to run as far as I'd like. I'm still thinking it's hormonal or chemical in some other nature.
Brought 11 yr old car to have a/c looked at. On the way there the car made a clunk noise a few times so they checked the suspension, etc. Apparently, they had told DH last year the front ball joints were wearing. So we need new front ball joints (whatever they are) and new links and bushings for the front sway bar (sound familiar, Linda - didn't you just have your sway bar fixed?), and the control panel for the a/c and air direction buttons fixed. Cha-ching. And the muffler is leaking exhaust. But the things that hold the exhaust system in place are all rusty, so when they go to fix/replace the exhaust system parts, the other things might break and need to be replaced too. Ugh. So he gave me the name of a place that will fix it with aftermarket exhaust parts so it might cost half as much to fix. Hope so... We wanted this car to last another couple years... After we sink this money into it, it had better. They call houses money pits - well cars are money pits too.
Forgot to remind the dr about my (self-diagnosed) acid reflux...gotta go take some Zantac.. I'm falling apart.
-
Chris....me need ball joints and struts in the back along with a bumber for inspection.....thanks for all the good wishes, yep getting the poison tomorrow at 2pm and my friend is going with me, grateful for that, lonely sitting there by yourself....it is the afterwards on thursday that I am worried about hope it is nothing like last time.....what a good daughter you are, hate fishing....
So who got the earthquake, which personally I thought was really cool, lol!!!!! They haven't stopped talking about it.
Sheila check in plz....
good night all!!
Diane glad you are ok
Deb is like 67 at night wonderful sleeping weather...
-
www.pickityplace.com
I'll have to check that out on the threads.
-
Did you feel the earthquake, Sandy? You are closest. I didn't feel it, but there were lots of reports of people in CT feeling it. I've never felt an earthquake - I guess I'm too much of a spaceshot to notice. It's hard to believe it was felt as far away as Canada. I know it was a strong one, but that's so far away...
-
Some co-workers on the 2nd floor felt a little rumble but I was out walking on my break and felt nothing.
chris, I can't find the thread about some Chelmsford gals meeting at Pickity Place in Mason NH.
-
OMG it was so cooolllll.....I thought the boys were fighting and throwing each other against the wall...said WTF is my house shaking.....then it stopped and then it did it again and I said why is my house shaking what are you doing, lol!!!!
-
OMG - that is so funny! Sounds like something I would do - yelling at my kids thinking they are shaking the house when it's really an earthquake!
Deb - Diane mentioned the thread - I did a search and saw on the "So what's for dinner" thread that a couple of gals talking about meeting at Pickety Place, but I think they went a few days ago... that might not be the thread she was referring to, though.
First an earthquake - next a hurricane -
"Computer models are currently trending toward a forecast solution of rare potency for the Northeast." (weather.com)
I don't like the sound of that.

-
Ha ha - forecast solution - sounds like Star Trek
Actually, I've found out that it is more like submarine lingo than Star Trek - I knew it sounded like something...
-
Goin' fishin' tomorrow. Well, I'm going, but I won't be fishing. I never catch anything, so I didn't waste the money on a license. Got one for DD though. If only I had gotten her to tell me what time she's planning to get up before she went to bed...
-
Havent had time to catch up, need to say hi before I lose my connection. Hi!! Am thinking of you all. Hoping you are all well and are having a great week!
-
Deb: here it is:

Michelle, enjoy your prime rib tonight. Where is it that you go that you used to go 20 years ago??? I didn't think any place lasted that long. Tell Rick to enjoy...hope he enjoyed the golf today.
What's for dinner tonight????? No clue.......

I'm so happy Sheila is a happy Sheila! Keep on having a great time!
Hope Linda is having a great time too.
Gotta get DD and DS up for fishing. Wonder what time she was planning on getting up? My dad will be there at 7 and will start fishing without us. Trying not to wear the kids out too much going too early, but we have to get there at a decent hour... (Kids have been working hard at band camp - 12 hr days the last 2 days with breaks for meals and and kickball(and such.)
Keep an eye on the forecast, my East Coast friends. Here's the latest map:
This map makes it look to me as though it might still be a cat 2 when it hits CT (unless Long Island knocks it down). It's been a long time, but this map reminds me of Gloria. Hope Irene isn't as bad (or worse) than that. And the 1st day of school is supposed to be Monday. I wonder how starting the year off with a hurricane day will affect the year...

-
Ha - I just realized the map I posted last night has been updated. I guess that makes sense- it's the same picture reference. Duh.
-
Oh man - the forecast map keeps getting worse...
Went fishing. Dad caught 4 fish- only 3 of which he wants to admit to catching - one was small. DD caught 1 fish and we're pretty sure it died. It swallowed the lure - Dad got it out, but I think it was too injured.
It was a really nice morning on the lake.
-
Your friendly weather watcher here. Projected path of the hurricane is now looking more like Bob than Gloria - as far as landfall in New England goes. Hopefully it will keep moving eastward and spare all of us.
Projected path for Irene

Hurricane Bob - 1991

-
Senior picture tomorrow. Hope DD doesn't get any more mosquito bites on her face. Really wishing we had gotten her pic taken in July...
Then off to the dentist to see if he would like to advertise in our Band Show program again this year. Salesmen we are not, but hopefully he is interested in continuing to support the band.
Then I'll probably go to the grocery store and buy what's left on the shelves to prepare for the hurricane. It just dawned on me today that our house hasn't been through a hurricane. A few tropical storms, but not a full fledged hurricane. I've been worried about how it would hold up since we moved in. Guess this weekend might be the test. Gotta get DH out back with the branch cutter thing he bought last year to cut a few more branches that are overhanging the roof of our back porch. And maybe put some silicone or something where that roof attaches to the house where I think there is a gap in the flashing (freaking hate builders) where we get some water leaking when it rains hard enough in just the right direction. Should probably have a roofer come and fix it right at some point - but who do you trust to do it right?
Today is Wednesday - hope your infusion went well, Sandy and that you are feeling as well as possible. Hope your friends are keeping you entertained and taking good care of you! (((((((Sandy))))))))

Hey guys so far so good, actually they had me down to go yesterday but I wrote it today....anyway it is done and drinking my azz off.
Thanks so much for my sand I hope you don't get caught, that is the nicest thing anybody has done for me these days.
Chris boys got their pix done and retakes will have to be done at another 10.00 a piece, whatever ......Michael's was horrible.....
My stepddaughter lives in FLA they are worried....
-
Just talked to my brother in Virginia. He's been busy getting ready for the storm, moving everything they can inside, cutting the wood to fit over windows, etc. They're already prepared with food, water and fuel for the generator. He is not an alarmist but he is pretty worried about this one. He and his wife are trained first responders for the Red Cross and have already gotten their assignments. I'm praying for the safety of all in the storm's path.
-
(((((TOL)))))
-
Double whammy for Virginia - first and earthquake and now a hurricane threatening.
Hoping Irene stays out to sea and doesn't cause much trouble for Sandy's stepdaughter in Florida or Chabba's brother in Virginia. Hoping it stays farther east farther north too so it doesn't slam us either.
First responders for the Red Cross - that's awesome to be able to help people like that.
Hope the boys' retakes come out nice, Sandy.
Hi (((((Deb)))))
-
Thanks guys how is everybody, haven't talked to FLA lately will call them in a few....don't know when retakes are.
Deb how is your dad...
Chills started noooooooooooooooooooooo!!
-
Are the chills from the Zometa? From a fever? Foxy was just going through that a couple days ago (on the Middies thread). Hope they go away soon. Rest and take it easy. Hope you can take something to feel better. ((((((((Sandy))))))))
DD had her pics. I hope the retouching can remove the bumps on her face from having to use sunscreen the past 2 weeks. And can remove the little bit of peeling she had on her chest. Get to see them in a couple weeks and pick.
Trying to figure out how much to try to do to prepare for Irene. And when to do it. Photographer said he went to Walmart to buy a couple everyday things and the store shelves were emptied of batteries.
-
Hope the chills are going away Sandy - take good care of yourself.
Chris - the pimples will magically disappear

More little fights with the builder who is not following the settlement agreement - if I were a hater, well he would be the one to hate. Can't wait to ship him off to the septic tank.
-
Just wanted to say hi again. Just heard about the earth quake and hurricane. Living in the woods with no cell phone stinks!! At least we found out about it. Just wanted to say hi again. WIll lose my connection. Hope you are all well and safe!
-
Hope you are well and safe too, Linda. Are you coming home for the hurricane?
Diane, I hate him for you.
