Vacation at Marys!
So, I am back home after a great 11 days in the US, visiting with Mary and her family.
We had been talking about getting together for ages, but life and distance always seemed to get in the way. So this summer we just decided to pick a week, and go for it! And I am so glad we did.
I had some reservations about my whole family (and my dog!!) descending upon hers, especially as we had never "met" in person. But I needn't have worried. Mary and her family opened their house and their hearts to us. We had a wonderful time.
We hung out, explored, hiked, swam, ate, got our nails done, shopped, cooked, walked dogs, talked, BBQ-ed, ....and of course ran!
It is hard to find anything good in the whole cancer experience, it has taken so much from all of us. But the one silver lining has been the friends I have made. This last week has reinforced my belief in the power of friendship.
Thank you Mary, for a wonderful time!

I have posted photos on Facebook. I can't figure out how to post them here, so I have put together a web album with a few.

So glad you guys had a blast!!! But knew you would.
I am also so thrilled with all the things you are doing solo......and good luck with your new gig.
Life really can be good again, and both you and Mary have demonstrated this.
And of course all your miles running keep me motivated to get moving on my bicycle. - Claire

I'm so happy you found each other in this and were able to finally get together. Maybe we all should learn from the two of you...to slow down and take the time to do something we always say we will. Intentions are good but in the end that's all they are if you don't act on them
Great pics, thanks for posting!
