Just had my first infusion of Reclast last Wednesday.  On Friday, I woke up with the nausea nad aches that persisted for 2 days.  But last night, I developed a rash that started on my arms and is slowly spreading to my back and arms- doesn't itch just looks weird.  Anybody else ever get a rash from a Reclast infusion?  If so, how long does it last?  Yikes!

Hi Deprazy, I just had my first infusion of Reclast this summer too.  I have not heard of anyone getting a rash.  I would call your oncologist and check it out. Its probably not something to be concerned about but is still worth reporting to your doctor.  Hope all goes well.

Thanks, Susand.  I called my onc office on Monday morning to ask about my rash.  I was told that a rash is  a very, very, very rare SE of Reclast (ie one they had read about but never seen....) and that I should take some Claritin and call them back if it didn't go away in a couple of days.  It is starting to fade now, so I guess the worst of it is over until next time.....  I guess I am just lucky with the very rare SEs - I also got to spend a week in the hospital last year because of pericarditis caused by an inflammatory reaction to radiation!!!Undecided

I am glad the rash has started to go away.  I hope all your other side effects from reclast have started to fade also.  Its crazy what we subject ourselves to in order to try and improve our health!

I had my first Zometa injection last year and I got a bad bumpy rash on my face.  I took pictures and brought them with me to my Oncologist office.  They said they had NEVER seen this side effect before using Zometa.  I took over the counter Benadryl and I used Benadryl cream and it went away.  Now, before I get my Zometa infusion, I get a steroid in my IV... and it does the trick, no more rash.
