Pregnant! :)
(I wasn't sure where to post this, but since I've posted on this board more than the others, I decided to put it here.)
My H and I found out Saturday that I'm pregnant with our first child!!!
My backstory: I was diagnosed three days before our 10/10/10 wedding, and underwent mastectomy/lymph node removal in November 2010. In April I had TE exchange and in May we got a medical "OK" to start trying for kids. (I had opted not to start Tamoxifen knowing we wanted to try as soon as possible.) Being 37 years old, I didn't know if we would have problems conceiving -- but apparently not!
I wanted to post this as encouragement to others and a reminder that there is life after DCIS.

CONGRATS! So glad you posted this. I am 48 with 3 kids and not trying, but I still love reading good news like this. I want to be here for everyone with their struggles, but reading the good news is what helps us all get through the struggles I think. I hope you enjoy your pregnancy. It is a very special time in your life. I am sure you and your DH are going to be wonderful parents. That is one lucky little baby you are carrying. Congrats and best wishes. Kay

Gosh, I got a little teary-eyed reading everyone's lovely comments. Thank you! Nine months ago was a very dark time -- we didn't yet have final pathology back so didn't know what we were dealing with, and the idea of starting our own family seemed very far off indeed.
Life is so very sweet right now -- we plan to enjoy every moment!

<warm smile> Congrats! And it isn't often we see such good news here with such a positive spin! Life is worth living and it's worth living well... if you have been dx'ed with DCIS it will hit you hard, but after you have started to heal try to move forward with your life - life doesn't end with a DCIS dx, in fact it can just begin as we see here! This is lovely news!!!!
