We're middle-aged, so I know we all grew up hearing that we have to wait an hour after lunch to go back in the water.  Well, I know you gals like to live dangerously, so I have some games you will remember.  How 'bout the old slip and slide?  Perfectly fine when you were a kid, when diving onto solid ground was no problem.  Now a 50-50 chance to break a hip.  If you had rads, you'll be lucky to get by without a rib fracture.  Let's do it!

Oh, was that too tame for you?   Anyone really feeling reckless?   Oh look, I never got rid of my Jarts after the recall.  (We all know "recalled product" is just another way to say "collector's item," right?)  They are as safe as milk if you follow the directions.  Last year, my neighbor was all gung-ho and headed down to the target area before I was done throwing.  Well, duh!  So, please, don't make that mistake!

Lol E. Last year just before father's day my DH broke his leg so our loving DD bought him a slip n slide for Father's Day. THen she gave him a get we'll card at the same time that said sorry for the leg and since you can't use the slip n slide she'd be glad to take it off his hands.

Don't worry, juliet62, all of our lifeguards are trained in emergency medicine, and apparently also certified in body waxing.  (Sorry, Barbe, it seems most of the hunks are hairless.)

There I am in my red!  I have never come first place in my life.  This could be my day to shine!

The food is wonderful....but I am real happy about those drinks.  Elimar, I am with you, I'll take a Long Island Iced Tea.  Emphasis on the long please.

Thanks to Elimar for getting the glass cleaned up so quickly and avoiding a potential disaster.

Reesie your DD sounds like a riot.  Love the gift!

Paula enjoy that splash, I know I am.

Kitty....oops about that water up the nose.  I hate it when that happens!  Oh, and thanks so much for including my boyz!  They love the pool.

Zumbagirl....welcome.  You must think we are a bunch of loonies.  Just today!  We are here to help, advise, and offer hugs at all times.

    And the winner is.....

Paula!  I knew she was trying to hustle us.  She forgot to mention that she had specially enhanced boob weight installed in her recon., so she could always take home the prize at the "biggest splash" contests.  With all those brothers and sisters, she often got overlooked at family pool parties.  So what better way to get everyone's attention than to soak 'em with a six foot clorinated tsunami?  Here you go Paula, the trophy is all yours!

Janis, you did take second place.  And don't forget, those trophys are the size of 32 oz."Big Gulps" and you get free refills all day long!!!

Second?  I came in second?  Wow, now I am impressed.  I agree Paula would be hard to beat with those super new boobies.  I am just thrilled I actually placed......

As long as those refills include Bacardi mixed with something, I am a happy camper.  Um, I meant swimmer!

ok im getting a little tipsy, and i can feel my shoulders getting a little sunburn......true story, this woman i workedwith said that her friend went to a high end manny pedi spa for a 1 hour massage. the vietnamese male owner of the spa was giving her the massage. she said he was massaging her inner thighs and had this look on his face. no words were spoken between the two andthe next thing she knows she is receiving a "happy ending". sounds like an episode of sex and the city. true story, my divorced best friend is begging me to tell her where this place is. did i forget to mention thatthe guy knew exactly what he was doing. hell of a massage.

Hi, I am 51 and was just barely getting over loosing my sister to lung cancer(april 2011) when I found out in July I had DCIS. We have a strong family history, Grandmother,Mother, Aunts, and two sisters so for me it really wasn't a question of "if" it was more like "when". Well "when" is now. As I tell myseld this is just another blip on my radar, this too shall pass!  My question is the radiation, some people tell me I will get very tired. I work full time and do want to work while in treatment, so is there anything that helped with the energy level?

ashleere, welcome!  Strangely enough, when I began this thread two years ago, that was the thing I was wondering.  Well, I did get fatigued by about the 3rd or 4th week.  I think it really depends on how sleep/energy deprived you are beforehand, when you start out I mean.  I wasn't 100% to begin with, so after a couple weeks I felt tired.  Many women work thru all 6+ weeks of their rads.  I think rads is a little more workable than chemo is, but I did not do chemo so that is just from what I read/heard about others.  Luckily, you did not have to do both so that is in your favor.  Maybe you can get rads at the end of the day, then go home from there and rest if needed.  Also, make sure you get enough protein during treatment, for energy and tissue rebuilding.

It's not gourmet cuisine, but these burgers and hot dogs will hit the spot.  Did anyone bring a side dish?  (The best part is we don't even have to shoo away flies.)
