It's tough. When they don't say something, we hate them. When they do say something, we damn them....sigh. It was VERY unprofessional of him to say ANYTHING!!!! Even the signs normally posted in the hospital tell you a tech cannot answer your questions or give you results!!!
IF it is b/c you may have come into a break through. Maybe b/c mets to the bones that are damaged first.....??
-
I woke up this morning feeling like it is going to be scar tissue and degeneration from trauma. And THEN I think it's a great idea to stick the canoe up Scary Biopsy Guy's ass!! And for the record, I didn't ask him anything!
But I will still take all the prayers and good wishes!! Thanks Denise!

Hello, first let me give you a cyber hug ((()))!
I am going through a very simlar situation. I was diagnosed in March of 2010 with Stage 1, no node involvement, ER +, PR - HER2 -. I like you have always had a spot on my sternum that has been questionable. I ride barrelhorses and have taken many hard knocks, falls, and saddle horns in my sternum area. Onc and I assumed it was just an old injury.
Last month, I had some major changes in my body. First, a period from hell and then a knot very high on my sternum, right between my breasts. It would get sore, then feel better. If I over exerted myself it would feel like a knife was pressing into me.
Had Pet Scan, it lights up and so does the other area in my sternum that has been there from day one. Had guided CT biopsy, the tissue is cancer. Had bone scan, only thing that lights up is the same area as before on my sternum, and it is the same size.
I am having my ovaries removed next week and will start Femara. (little surprised I thought I was headed down the chemo road again) Even got a short little chemo hair cut!!
Well, just wanted to let you know you are not alone. And yes, the freakin waiting SUCKS!!
Love, Amy.
-
Hi Sue,
-
Sue, we're all waiting with you. The waiting room is going to be very crowded!
-
(((Sue))) I thought I'd find you here. I know the need to
seek the information you are looking for. I thought I would not be coming back
here but I am with you. You have been with me all morning. Just feel like
yelling TAWANDA!!! -
Okay Karin...'splain TAWANDA....
-
Barbe .. it's from the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes."
It's a wonderful movie if you haven't seen it!
hugs,
Bren -
Sue - I hope you can report the S.O.B.

hugs,
Juli
-
Hi Karin!! Thanks for the angel!! (Karin sent me an angel and she's holding a SHOVEL.)
The onco called this morning and said there are cancer cells in the sample. I won't know er status, grade, etc for a few days. I saw the PET scan itself and it is scary. After the shock and pain of hearing this...
I did immediately rat out Biopsy Guy.
-
Aw, Sue, that's not the news we wanted to hear. (((((HUGS))))). Let us know the plan of attack and we'll come after it with our shovels!
-
Ready to dig/hit/shovel!!!! Why ARE we holding shovels?
-
Nancy, I think the first plan of attack is to gather all my records and seek a second opinion, just to be safe (Ha! As if there even IS such a thing as being safe!). My oncologist wants me to do radiation. Thanks for the hugs.
-
Sounds like a plan...when Nancy's hugs run out, here's some more! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Barbe, the shovel brigade was formed in the Spring/Summer of 08. I can't remember the exact reason it started, but it was a show of solidarity and it's been a rallying cry when someone from that period has had a problem and needs help. TO THE SHOVELS! (kind of like the elephants gathering in the waiting room)
-
Count me in for Sue!!
-
Barbe Tawanda is from the movie as Bren said. We used it frequently in the group where Sue and I hung out as were the shovels. Our group had many visitors but 20 of us stayed together and held the connection over on FB. We learned a new mathematical equation 20 =1. That is why I am back here with Sue. When I first joined I was searching, seeking answers and others going through the same thing and I found much info and strength here. We still have our group on FB where we can offer Sue love and support but we can't offer what she can get here. We don't know but can only imagine. So I came along to hold her hand.
-
Sue -
I am so hideously sorry that you have to do this again. May rads blast those evil suckers to smithereens!
Thoughts and prayers.
BTW, the shovel brigade... well, Viv summarized it really well:
...my middle name was "waiting". Seriously, where I am it is not uncommon to wait 2 weeks for the report. When I had to have MX, I waited 4 weeks for the final pathology and that was after many calls to whomever I could call short of beating some doors down. The ladies here were even ready to send the hoards of lopsided, bald, shovel wielding women to camp out with me in the office till I got my results!
If I can help, I have a nice shovel.
-
Well Sue, you're here with us and a better group of women and men you won't find to help with your questions. I'd say to hold your hand too but it looks like you have a really great group already for that. We are here to help them though when you need.
Sorry you've had to join us but welcome! -
Hi Sue,
Into the bonfire with Scary Biopsy Dude...WTF was he thinking? He's just mean, not to mention unprofessional. What a dumba$$.
-
This is dismaying news. I am so sorry to hear it. A second opinion is well in order given stupid biopsy guy. I'm so glad you ratted him out. He deserved it!
Here's to an isolated spot that can be blasted to kingdom come by some rads and then held at bay with something that causes you no problems!
Damn, I hate this disease. SFC.
-
Thanks for the wishes.
The shovel brigade, oh yeah, what has been explained so far is correct, except Alaska Deb gave us the idea. She was talking about how they were not allowed to kill the bears but that if one began harrassing your household or animals, the 3-S rule went into effect, which was, Shoot, Shovel, Shut Up. We though that could be applied to nurses who do stupid things or tech who make stupid coments of doctors' offices who make people wait for results or otherwise don't treat them well....
-
Awww, Sue -- sorry about this news -- hope the bad cells can be zapped into oblivion and never heard from again. Glad you ratted out Scary Biopsy Guy. I'm standing by for shovel duty as needed. ((((((((((Sue))))))))))
-
Thanks for the proper meaning of the shovel brigade Sue, I think AlaskaDeb was my first "death" here on bco. It shook me to my core, and has continued to do so each and every death....sigh. I LOVE the 3-S rule!!! That ROCKS!
-
Yea.......don't mess with the ladies with shovels!!! We mean serious business right??? It sure worked for me when they all stormed my waiting room after 4 weeks of waiting too! Gave me the nerve to rattle a few chains harder to get results. Sue was there front and centre, a force to be reconed with and had the biggest shovel. Thats why I'm here with mine!
Sue, glad you ratted out MR Insensitivity, so sorry for the sucky news.
Okay, I really feel like clobbering something.........gonna get my shovel!
-
I've been following your thread and I love the shovel brigade!! I can't believe that guy.....what a jerk :< I am sorry your biopsy didn't come back benign but just know we are all here for you!! lisa
-
Thanks Lisa, I have appointments with a new onc for a second opinion (will stay with my old one if opinion is close, I am happy with her, my current onc I mean) and a cardio-thoracic surgeon, this will all happen the first week of September....have a lot of research to do between now and then.
Am over in Georgia with family......I have been enfolded in their love..
