ONJ due to Zometa injections

Damn. That must be horrible. I can't answer your question but hopefully others can. Welcome to our forum where you'll find lots of support, friendship and advice.
I have seen a hospital reality program where they removed ONJ bone and replaced it with a bone graft and metal but the ONJ was caused by some other disease so I don't know if it would be practical for you. They need to attach the grafted bone to healthy jaw bone, that could be the limiting factor.
"Good morning Sunshine" says a lot about your spirit. I'm sending you lots of good thoughts and wishes.

I found this article about Forteo being used to reverse ONJ damage. Hopefully that could make the remaining jaw healthier to take the graft. I'll keep searching. I love googling and it's always an honour to help a sister in need.
Forteo May Help Treat Jaw Osteonecrosis From Fosamax: Study
Quote...
One article details the collected data on how Forteo has been seen to stimulate bone growth in patients suffering from bone problems and its potential in fighting ONJ. The other article details how Forteo was used specifically to reverse the effects of ONJ from Fosamax in an 88-year-old woman in a matter of weeks.

Hi GMrngSunshine
We're sorry you're going through this. There are some past threads here that have talked about ONJ and may have some other insights. They can be found by clicking the Search link in the top right of any page, and entering ONJ as the search term.
Moving your post to the Bone Health and Bone Loss forum too, where more members will find it.
