Thinking Out Loud.....

My DH is up there on business, our company if involved in the commercial fishing and fishmeal industry. He has been all over Alaska for business and sometimes fishing. I went to Alaska and must be the only person in the world who didn't like it very much. The girls went on a cruise ship to 4 ports. We got to see a fjord one time at 5 a.m. and for me, sure we saw some mountains with snow and some beautiful ocean but I found the ports to be nothing more than tacky tourist traps. Imagine that three shipos pull in, each with thousands of passengers and they all get off looking for food, fun, adventure, the "real" Alaska. How many plastic totem poles does one need?
So, if I were going to go again, I would not do it on a large cruise ship, not if I wanted a taste of the real. -
-
My DB went a few years ago on a cruise in Alaska and loved it. Not me. I would just like to hire a native to sail me around.
-
Sandy - Hope the Zometa is kinder to you this time. So glad you have friends to help you. Vent away to us. (((((((((Sandy)))))))))) Has Andrew gotten his uniform yet? I imagine that would be so cute - a tiny, little football player.
I think I would be too cold in Alaska, but it would be nice to see.
-
Computer problems my friends. Sorry. Laptop is not holding a charge. WIll have it looked at. Hope you are all well!
-
Aww - hope they figure out what's wrong with it and fix it fast! Hope you are well, too! ♥
-
((((TOL))))
-
Thanks Chris no uniform, took pix will put on FB tomorrow.......still want to be in Hawaii, am at the end of the 14 days Friday feet and hands are just weird...Zometa on Wednesday of next week.....so not looking forward to!!
-
Blondie - you sure do hang in there! You are one tough cookie

Linda - you need a new battery.
-
Oh - Zometa is next week... The feet and hand weirdness - is that the peely skin or neuropathy weirdness? Are you taking vitamin B-6 or B-complex? I've read that can help with both the skin problems and neuropathy. I've also read that Udder Cream is good for the skin too. Udderly Smooth Extra Care Cream with Urea - I think is the one I've seen mentioned. Don't want you to have to deal with any more weirdness than you have to...
-
Hey Deb - how's your car? Did you find out why it died on you the other day?
-
17 hours since someone posted!! Sheila, we are losing it without you!!
Ordered a new battery for my laptop. Should get it after I get home from vaca. Hope that does the trick!
On step at a time Sandy. Hope the weirdness goes away. Have you tried Dairy Queen? Does that help?
-
You and Sheila will both be gone at the same time? I guess the rest of us better step up to keep this board running

-
Agreed Linda.....we need you to keep us straight Seyla...what is wrong with the battery? Vacation, when is that and where????
No Linda have not got Cold Stone Cremery free ice cream for birthday will take a pix, vanilla with brownie in it.....that is great idea tho.

-
So far so good on the car. It had something to do with a censor. It was replaced b4 so it is still under warranty.
-
Linda, you going to Squam Lake?
-
You guys are counting on me to keep you in line....oh no, we're all in trouble.
Yes Squam, Just picked up a new wakeboard. Should be fun.
Any ice cream is good Sandy!! Cold Stone is really good!

Hi everyone.....I was in the pool all day yesterday and few hours today.
Dont I look happy?
This weekend we are going all kind of quiet beaches. DD took Monday off.
To be continued.........
-
Ok I guess you are in bed or busy
I thought each one of you in the pool today and smiled
I try to get on again
(((TOL)))
-
I am here now!
I am so happy for you Sheila. We don't do as well without you though...
Joel got in to port from the Bering Sea a few hours ago, said it was a great day on the water today. Now he will fly all night and get home at 5 a.m. Yay! But he sounds sick, Boo!
-
Shiela I am so excited for you.....glad daughter took off.....pix plz!!!
-
I can't even imagine how beautiful those beaches must be. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Diane- sorry DH sounds sick - hope it's not too bad and he gets better fast!
All this traveling everyone is doing makes me want to go somewhere. (Even though I did just get back from NH...) Some day maybe we'll get out west.
Trying to get motivated to pack some things away. Kids' toys they've outgrown. If only they would go through their school papers and organize what they want to keep and get rid of what they don't need... Instead they've got piles of papers around... And school is a little more than a week away and they are in band camp most of the day... AND I wanted to take the old wallpaper of DS's walls and paint. Not sure if I will get that done either before school starts. Not to mention new carpet... I tried to motivate them by suggesting they might like to cooperate so they can get new carpet in their rooms and get rid of the old carpet that has 18 yrs worth of dust and who knows what else in it... (the vacuum can take out only so much...) They didn't like the sound of that, but I'm not sure it will motivate them enough to clean up their stuff. So frustrating.
Well - I have to get off my butt now and start putting stuff in the attic.
-
I'm sure I was sleeping. Sorry SHeila! We need you! Have fun in the pool and ocean. I am still jealous!
Great news on Joel, hope he is NOT sick!
Cheis, I just put my AC on cause this humidity is calling constant hot flashes.....and your going in your attic??? WOW!
-
Haven't gotten to the attic yet, but I am dripping with sweat. All I was doing was sitting in a chair sewing back on some little felt pieces that came off a stuffed bear and I was dripping with sweat. What is up with that?
-
It's very humid!
-
I sinned this afternoon - ate Doritos. Boo. I absolutely HAVE to get this weight off. I am busting out of my clothes! And eating Doritos is NOT the way to do it. I need to get my mouth wired shut. Time to go for a run. I keep thinking I hear rumbling, but the radar isn't showing storms that close to us. Hmmm.
Tomorrow morning will be calling the oil company time. Had to reset the boiler. Went to take a quick shower and had lukewarm water. I HATE this stupid thing. It can't make it an entire year between cleanings. AND last time they put an additional filter on the the thing and it still didn't make it a whole year. Stupid, stupid machine. Grrrr.
-
We got a weather advisory report across the screen of our TV a while ago. Nothing yet.
Going to a cookout in Marlboro tomorrow. Getting close to Linda's area.
