Thinking Out Loud.....

So - did you Mass residents hear about a backup on I-495 S this afternoon? I was in that back up. No sooner had I waved to Deb when we passed the Chelmsford exit did we end up in miles of backup. Took us 7 hrs to get home from NH - without stopping or traffic, it would normally take us 3 1/2. DD and DS missed most of the first marching band rehearsal for section leaders and new members - which DD and DS are - DD a section leader (all brass) and DS new member. So that totally sucks. NOT a good way to start the season.
Camping was pretty good. Wednesday was a cold, crummy day - I slept almost the whole day! I wonder what that means... Now it's laundry time!
Sandy - sorry I missed your birthday! Hope it was a good one! Belated Happy Birthday wishes being sent your way ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) ♥
Diane - glad you might be out of your house only 3 weeks. Hope the work gets done really fast - and really well this time!
Oh - DD is doing well - hasn't played her trumpet yet, though, since we were away and she missed the rehearsal part of the meeting. That will be the true test. She ate popcorn at Clark's Trading Post yesterday, so I'd say she's doing pretty well. I told her I didn't want to hear any more about her not being able to eat things if she can eat popcorn. Kids.

I knew about the parking lot on 485 so I went 110 to visit my Dad in Ayer. Took me a half hour to get through Westford into part of Littleton. So I said Frig this and turned around took 495 S. I rolled up the windows and put on the AC. When I got off the hwy just past the Fire Station my car died. I posted on FB what happened. Still have to bring the car in just to check out why it did that. $$$$$$$$$$$ Just spent 895.00 on it. There was a fatality in Bolton.
-
Cars are $$$$$$$$$$! That's for sure. Still avoiding taking ours in to fix the a/c. If we wait just a little longer, it won't be summer anymore! But the car that has the really flaky a/c is the car DD drives, so that's not fair to her - not that she's been going anywhere - but if she needs to - she'll be too hot! Hope whatever caused your car to die is something simple and not expensive.
Sad to hear there was a fatality. It was a traffic nightmare though. We were averaging 2.5 miles per hour. I felt like the road narrowed too. Wasn't sure if it really narrowed or if I was getting claustrophobic.
-
Chris, we hit that backup whenever we go to NH. I will be there next week and cant wait for the traffic. Hope you all had fun.
(((Deb)))
-
Hope you don't have too much traffic next week! To or from.
So tired... all that sitting in the passenger's seat really wears you out!
Sweet dreams, all.
-
Sweet Dreams! I'll be dreaming of Sheila in Hawaii..............sigh............
-
Hi everyone! It's awfully quiet here without Sheila.
-
She is our leader

Today:
Got up a little after 8, had a cup of coffee, DH and I went to some Yard Sales (YS) bought a planter for 3 bucks and wind chimes for $10 with the original price tag still on it $31.99. Had my hair done, did some clean up in the flower beds, visited my Dad, then worked in the yard some more. Tomorrow after the flea market, I will do more yard work. It never ends.
-
I am so thinking of Seyla hoping she is having fun!!!
Diane so glad 3 weeks instead of 3 months
Chris thanks for the birthday wishes getting closer to 60 sucks
Linda, wish we could have tea together, lol
Deb love yard sales....you get such good deals, do you go by yourself?
-
DH and I go, he writes them down in his little note book and I look them up on GOOGLE to see where they are and number them according to distance.
-
Sandy, I would sooooooooo love to have tea (margaritas) with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
BTW, I tried calling Sheila and she didn't answer. Hmmmm.....

-
lol too funnny....she doesn't want to talk to us if we aren't in HI I guesss!!!
-
No offense, but if I were in Hawaii, I would not be talking to us either!
-
Just trying to catch up with everyone. I am thinking I may have to take my laptop to work and come here on my lunch hour. It takes so much reading to catch up each day, I don't have time to respond or post!
I am sure Sheila is basking in the Hawaiian sun and thinking of us.
Diane, great news about your house.
Happy belated birthday, Sandy! I have some black sand from Hawaii. I got it years ago. If I can ever find it again, I could send you a vial.
-
I know what you mean Meece, when I have time at work I do PEEP once in a while. It is against company policy to visit web site like chat and discussion rooms. But I can't help myself, LOL.
-
Thanks Meece and I agree with you Linda!!!

Aloha TOL........OMG so very happy to be in Hawaii.
I missed you so much. My trip was a didaster small plain was good. Sorry I'm not comfy with this laptop. Arrived DC have to change terminals nobody told me about it. I ran and ran to catch the connection only to find out technical difficulties no boardind couldnt fix the problem anothyer plane came from I dont know where to pick us up 4 hour delay.
That also made me miss connection in SF, waited another 3 hours in the airport

Instead of arriving here at 7PM we arrived after midnight will continue......
-
Sorry for all the mistakes I made and sorry I started with complaining but after 18 hours later I was really grrrrr.........
DD is moving already moved as of today so we were very busy and exhausted.
I was in stores and found the perfect bathing suit on my first day.
Haven't been at the beach yet. Soon.
Tomorrow she goes back to work so if you didn't hear from me I'm OK
-
Ok I read all the postsbefore so I'm aware of for all the updates.
I dont like this laptop business it's so different I might need an anxiety pill after or I call SAM hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Do you know Hawaii is having a bad season of Macademia and it's almost impossible to find it.
They are only selling the chocolate covered ones.
I'm sending separate posts just in case if I loose the connection. DD went to bed so I reallyy be stuck.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((TOL)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I will never forget my friends no matter where I am. I love you all
-
So sorry to hear you went through all that Sheila! But it's worth it on the long run. Have fun!!
-
Oh Sheila - sorry about the terminal change and missed connections. But you got to Hawaii
Next time connect in Seattle and I will come get you if something goes wrong. Get to the beach in your perfect new swimsuit!!! Another very nice day here. Going to spend it looking for someplace that carries the wide plank hardwood floors made by a company in NH that I want.
Both kids birthdays, yesterday was Casey, today is Matt. DH went to Alaska so we did family dinner on Saturday. He is on board a ship in the Bering Sea for a few days, so no contact. Feels so strange.....
How is everyone? We are not as good at this without Sheila's prompting!
-
Diane - Is your DH fishing? Salmon? I know a guy here that goes up at least once a year to do that.
-
Wow - Sheila - sorry you had to go through all that - but I'm sure it was worth it. Hope you have a wonderful time - and I'm glad you found the perfect bathing suit to wear while you enjoy that beautiful water.
Trip to Alaska - sounds nice - hope he's having a good time. Have you been to Alaska, Diane?
Busy week for me so far - doing things I probably should have done sooner. Band camp - running around like chickens with our heads cut off printing music - getting binders and plastic sheet protectors and little dot books (notebooks with field moves in it) finding shoelaces for tying said notebooks around the neck while marching on the field. Chasing kids around - do you have your hat? Sunscreen? Rain jacket? Change of clothes if you get wet if it rains? Did you pack a snack? Here let me give you money for supper since I won't be home to make it because of DS's orthodontist appt...
Today, the question I didn't ask was - do you have your music? So after we looked around the house for DS's hat, he ended up leaving his music on the kitchen table. So I'm in Walmart with my cart - luckily I hadn't picked anything up yet - and I get a text message from DD - DS doesn't have his music. Ugh. So I put the cart back and go home and then go to the school with the music... When will they ever learn to figure out what they need and pack it (more than 5 minutes before it's time to leave) - and bring it with them whereever they are going? Even when I tell them to do it, they don't. Ugh.
-
Chris it is always something huh
YOU ARE IN HAWAII no matter what goes wrong you are in HAWAII and you are with DD......breathe and get me sand, lol
