Does anyone have issues with how their pectoralis muscle feels now that they have an implant in place?

I have a tissue expander in and am due to get it swapped out next month. I don't really like how my pec muscle feels when I flex it. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything you can do about it?

Are there any swimmers out there with a sub-pec implant in? Did it affect your stroke/strength?

I have large saline implants and yes, my pecs sometimes feel wierd. PS said I could never due any exercises that affect the pec muscles as they can cause displacement of the implant. I do, however, swim and the swimming seems fine. I try to really stretch with my strokes and generally do not have any issues with the swimming. Sometimes I do feel a bit of soreness, but not all the time. I had revision surgeries in Aug 2010 on right and Jan 2011 on left to add alloderm reinforcement and then in March had right implant replaced due to leak. I do water aeorbics and swim as often as I can, at least 3 times per week. Back stroke is not as easy to do nor is breast stroke, but I have been trying them a bit more. Can't do butterfly and never could.

    welcome Spanky12

we all experience the flexing .... the dancing boobs LOL

I've had my implants going on 3 yrs and they still jump.  Just part of this process. I don't know if anyone has found a solution to this problem.  I do strength training and avoid the weight machines that work the pecs.

I hope you are happy with your implant.

I'm an avid swimmer and haven't been able to swim like I used to.  I had implants put in March 2013.  It's been over a year and I'm even worse this summer.  They think I might have torn my pec muscle, but haven't found it yet on any image.   I think I will always have issues, so I am getting them taken out.   After reading several other posts, it sounds like my story is like many others.   I think athletes that use their pecs a lot have the most problems.   I wish I would have done more research before my surgery, but I just went with what the doctors told me.

FLaG-I too wish I had done more research before having implants.   My PS was very vague about allot of things.  I am a surfer(therefore I swim allot too) and don't like the feel of the implants.  I would LOVE to hear how your removal surgery goes.   I had my implants put in on  7/11/14 and so far am not happy.  Also get allot of mild pain/discomfort at the bottom of the implant where the sling is.  Especially if I do anything that involves using the pecs.   Please let us know how it went,  I have questions for you.  Thank you so much,  Linda

I defy my docs and do heavy chest press and I have had no issues.

maria - Can you feel your pecs move, and become more rigid after a workout. I figured that was the new normal, or do some people not feel them flexing?
