Hello,  it's been quite a while since I posted here.

Two things--

1) Has anyone tried the Chi machine, or Chivitalizer? I saw it demonstrated on the tv show "The Doctors" and they specifically mentioned LE.  But would it help arm LE or just leg?

 2) If anyone is on Facebook, we have a great LE support group going. (private). Lots of members have LE from bc surgery, and some have it since birth in legs or trunk.

Inspie, never tried the Chi machine, but Binney has read about it, and thinks it's quackery.

I tried the facebook link and it didn't work.

Maybe try copying and pasting into your browser? Just checked and it worked.  If it still doesn't, email me at RLBayne(at)nbayne.com

So quackery? I was afraid of that.  *sigh*

Inspie, in Australia Dr. Neil Pillar endorses it as a help with LE, though not as standard treatment. He did a very loose and small study of it, funded at least in part by the Chi machine folks, and let's just say it apparently did no harm. My guess is that the rebounder is at least as effective, and it gives you a bit of cardio as well.Undecided

What we need is an honest-to-goodness outright CURE!!!Yell

    Be well,

    Agree on the cure!!!

I am wondering if that chi thing might work better on leg LE, anyway

My physical therapist insisted I borrow her chi machine to try at home.  I think it is useful but I probably wouldn't buy one.  I used it at the ankle for gentle vibration of the leg.  This was not in the context of LE treatment particularly, and I am working with a LE occupational therapist now.  So much stuff to learn about!
