How many rounds?
My oncologist said that I was going to start Taxol/Herceptin after my AC treatments, which will be August 24th. I'll be doing them once a week for 12 weeks, then getting a break for a few weeks before I start radiation. I'll do radiation for 33 treatments and then continue on with Herceptin every three weeks to finish out the year. My chemotherapy started on June 29th, so my question is, does anyone know how many treatments of Herceptin I'll be getting? Can anyone tell me the number of them you've had? I'm just curious. I hope I'm even making sense here. :-) I'm just wondering if I'll be totally done with everything at the end of June. Thanks!

Dear Juviben
My mom was prescribed 17 Herceptin every three weeks. She had ACTH treatment too but her taxol and herceptin was injected every 3 weeks not weely. Usually one year treatment is needed for Herceptin wait and see what others say too. By the way GOOD LUCK with your treatment. I cross my fingers for you.

I will be receiving 18 Herceptin treatments. I know others on the boards get 17. I have no idea why there is a difference. My Herceptin infusion is every three weeks as well. I'm going for #8 this Thursday.

I am getting one year of Herceptin. I got weekly Herceptin with Taxol (12 weeks). I start AC next week (4 rounds, every 2 weeks). You generally will not be prescribed AC and Herceptin together because of the cardio-toxicity risk. After AC, my Herceptin resumes every three weeks for 9 months, until June 2012. So, I am getting about 24 doses.
Did they say you would not get Herceptin during rads? My center plans to do Herceptin concurrently with rads.
Best of luck. -
I'm doing Herceptin with rads also. I'll end up with 3 doses of Herceptin during the course of rads.

Hmmm, looks like I'm going to need to ask some questions. I thought that they were going to give me Taxol/Herceptin together, do radiation with no kind of chemo, then continue the Herceptin until June. Jeez, I wish I knew. I go for my 3rd AC on the 27th, so I guess I'll ask, then. Thanks! :-)

I'm doing 3xT with herceptin then 15 herceptin every three weeks. Maybe Rads, I'll find out next month. Good luck

I had a total of 54 Herceptin treatments. They continued my Herceptin through radiation treatments. First 17 doses where weekly than went to every 3 weeks. Also had it at the same time as the Taxotere and Carboplatin.
When I progressed earlier this year, back on weekly Herceptin.

I had 18 and did rads while still on Herceptin - there's no problem with it. We made sure my port was on the opposite side.

I had 18 doses of herceptin. My oncologist believes in taking it longer than 1 year and at that point I sure didn't care.
