Soo I met with the doctor and he is soooo nice! He said surgery would last 3 hours and I was making more off it then I needed to:)

I asked him what the worst case scenario was and he said he could find a local reoccurence on the cancer side.

Does anyone know of what the chances of that would be? I just ended rads last June (2010)?

He also said worst case I could have a second Primary.. What would the chance of that be a year and half after chemo? My last 2 mamo/ultra sounds were clear and I felt nothing.

I am SOOOOOOOO scared about tommorow. I am so scared of waking up and hearing really bad news.... I also HATE ansatesis... I hate this sooo bad and already miss my babies... I know I have sooo much to be thankful for and I shouldn't be crying but well....I am so anxious:)

Chance of local reoccurance - 0

Chance of new primary - 0

Chance of something "going wrong" - 0

Chance of you waking up tomorrow, and all having gone well - 100

Keep telling yourself that. And listen to your Dr - he said you are making more of it than you needed to. Believe him. It will all turn out well.

    Hi Jen,

Now you know why I went for a hike with two friends on the day before my surgery!!!!

While it could happen, I really think this is highly unlikely.  I am assuming that chemo knocked everything out of your system.

Try to stay occupied, and it will be past you sooner than you know.  Thinking of you. - Claire

NO chance of recurrence, none, zip, zitlch, nada, negatory!!!!

As for the anesthesia, be sure to tell everyone that will listen just BEFORE the surgery tomorrow.  I had problems too in the past and the last couple times have been a non issue.  I told them beforehand and they made a special "cocktail" to combat nausea.

We all will be thinking of you tomorrow (me praying too:)) Have hubby post if he can to let us know how you are doing until you feel up to it!

    Pure-

Thinking of you and sending you good vibrations.  Been where you are right now. Feel the love surrounding you and coming your way from friends you don't even know from this board. Just breath. You are not alone.

YES!  Tell the anaesthesiologist to give you the "patch" for nausea.

Good luck!  You are going to wake up cancer free!

Awww Jen - I so understand!  You said you HATE anaesthesia  Me too!!  The last 2 surgeries I made sure they knew I most always get sick coming "out" in recovery.  They gave me a BUNCH of anti-nauseous meds that really helped.  Also, make sure you ask for something to relax you as soon as possible before they take you to the operating room!

Sending you extra strength from NC!

Ask for something to help you relax if you need it.

Wishing you a fast recovery Jenn.  Yeah, I hate being put under too.  5 times in 2 1/2 years.  Remember all you have gone through.  You can do this.

Girl! You are in Nashville...don't sit around worrying, get out and do Nashville.  Idle hands are the devils playground, in this case an idle mind.  Keep it busy so there's no room for worry.   You'll be fine, sending you hugs and prayers.

Jen, it will be OK. The chances of them finding ANY cancer is so small, it's almost 0 (as Kerry said).

I never have trouble with anesthesia. In fact, I always look forward to it as it's the longest stretch of sleep I ever get these days, lol. But I do know people who have terrible reactions, so I won't make light of your fear. Make sure you meet with the anesthesiologist before the surgery...I know they do that these days, although years ago, they didn't. That will give you a chance to mention your reactions in the past and to discuss their recommendations. I like the idea of the patch for the nausea.

I just wanted to apologize for my previous post, I was confused and thought you had another day in Tennessee before surgery.  I just found out everything went fine and I'm so happy for you, Jen.  Take it slow and easy...the workouts can wait :)
