Biopsy through liver?

I have a question and I'm hoping someone has some experience.  I had to have a biopsy of a portocaval lymph node yesterday.  They wanted to go through my back originally but couldn't find a way to get there, then they came and told me the only way was through my liver. The node is pushing on one vein and close to another and they needed to be careful of the veins as well.

I didn't think about it until afterwards but if it is mets, didn't they just drag cancer cells through my liver 4 times??  That doesn't make sense to me.  I'm going to call my onc and ask him today but he seems just as confused by this node as everyone else.

Anyone??

Did you get a response from your onc?  I don't think they leave cancer cells out, but confine them someway, but didn't really know so didn't answer your question.

Turns out my tumor in my liver is benign so I guess it wasn't an issue after all.  So much going on now, I never did think to ask him why or if it would have been cancer.
