    Thanks chabba. painterly I'm laughing a little about your ear, hope you had fun last night -- it's a wonder we don't all do more damage to ourselves... does the underarm numbness ever go away?

    I'm trying to think of a humorous riff for our local open mic (every other Sat. night), on the advantages of having no breasts. I found lots of t-shirt jokes about no arm or no leg, and one site that featured "Hooter Humor" but the link's no good - also I suspect it was about live hooters and not missing hooters.

    Any ideas, anyone? .

    Marybast.. i love that peacock feather painting of yours. .  I bought a small oil painting at a sale... very very dark, and cleaned it just a bit with water.. It was still dark.. It is now hung on a wall near a door and at all times I can see it very clearly.  A light from above or below did not work.. but indirect light from the side makes it look awesome.

    Get yourself a STYPTIC pencil.  Solves all those bleeding problems.  Mary, I'm 4 1/2 years out of BLM, and more sensation has returned to underarms - not what it was b4, but more than it was 2 years ago.  Also, very, very strange - I need to use a deodorant now - didn't for the first 3 years.  Strange.

    I asked to close my account, because I was getting a LOT of hassle - but not to delete.  SO I was deleted AND BANNED - gald this thread is back.  I didn't want other people's work to be deleted.

    I have no answers - just knwo the thread I post most often on is always being targeted - I at first said to have my account deleted, and I'd start over with a new name but leave the posts so things like this thread wouldn't be effected - so instead I got deleted AND banned - sorry.  This website is really under attack - just don't want to get into it  - but I'm happy thread is back, if it ever left.

    Incredible - and I'd LOVE to see it with the natural background - for comparison.  It's amazing to learn what color will do.  Just putting a little piece of construction paper on different backgrounds.  I'm so enjoying this "artist" stage of my life.

    Oh, my the original is my favorite.  What a graceful bloom.  The color is fantastic.  I think it's interesting to see how the natural color seems to "soften" the flower.  Just love it.

    Reminds me of a Georgia O'Keefe painting.  LOVE IT.

    Wow, the original would be fun to paint... if I had another 50 years and didn't have to work, I could catch up on all the painting I'd love to do.

    Mary LOL  -  have a whole FILE of pictures Lisa has posted - now just have to get my canon color printer to work.  I got tired of buying those cartridge refills, so bought ink, refilled, and now @$!#%$@ priter keeps saying "cartridge empty" - and it is NOT....oh, well.

    That's the problem with filling ink yourself. You can't get the same pressure as new ones. The manufacturers know this!

    I've been stalking here for a long while, and as I'm not an artist...only a crafter (crochet)  I just want to say how beautiful and how diverse the styles and mediums! 

    Sunflowers:  I think there are some ways to override the empty cartdige setting...do a quick perusal on line, and you should find something!

    I LOVE crochet.  I make all my winder hats - here in western MA we NEED hats, and am thinking of making myself an afghan.  LOVE crochet.

    I have my "thinker" turned off more frequently than it's on lately!  I've made many hats, but I've been doing lace dresses as my sister keeps having girls.  Although I've got two bonus grandsons that have blankets!  I've looked up some patterns for stuffed animals, and have made a bunny, but I need a good bear pattern too!

    I had a thousand dollar canon printer with ten ink cartridges . I used

    only canon ink and most of the time I had one, that was full that it wouldn't read

    so finally I just dumped it in the garage and got a cheap hp one..works just fine.

    i knit too, but not crocheting...right now I am doing no brainer knitting and make

    lap robes for our hospitalized veterans at the VA Hospital here...gives me something

    to do when I watch TV..

    After doing the Koala bear birthday card for my granddaughter, my daughter asked me to create a birthday card for her friends child's birthday. She didn't give me much notice and I completed it in 2 hours. It is acrylic on paper. My daughter was very pleased and will present it to her friend tomorrow at the child's party.

     

    My daughter is a terrific photographer so is supplying me with tons of wonderful material. This is one of her photos, I will do a 16 x 20 oil painting of it because I love it so much. I am currently doing my granddaughter from a photo taken at the same time. I am enjoying it very much as my granddaughter is bathed in beautiful dappled lighting that is so exciting to paint.

    Sewing - of, course.  I'll bet someone here can give me GOOD ADVICE.  I have neer sewed anything.  Nada.  I want to buy a machine, a little more than "basic" - that is not a "manual" one, but "automated" digital, with a drop in bobbin, and some stitches - BUT, not a "fancy-schmancy" one.  Under $200. would be preferable.  Everytime I google,and start researching, reading reviews, I get conflicting information.  Some LOVE Singer, some hate it.  Some love Brother, some hate it?  Kenmore? 

    well, any advice from some one who KNOWS & loves one - most important for me is RELIABLE.  That's why my first car was a Honda Accord ;)   Easy to use, reliable, reliable ( did I say thatWink)

    I may be offline for a few days - I live in western MA in the EYE of Irene.  As ready as I can be in my liitle town, but still a wee bit scarey.  The electric company made robo phone calls to all customers warning US of the danger - that freaked me - we're supposed to be the ones calling them!!  Hope everyone is safe - and sort of dry, by next week.

    Sunflower, when the storm passes, check Janome. That's the best model I sold to newbies. It is easy to use without a manual. You won't get digital for under $200 though, but you will get a lot of stitches and a solid machine. Drop in bobbin, too!

    thanks barbe - I've heard of Janome.  Don't they also make the Sear's Kenmore ones????  The newer Singers are grtting SUCH bad reviews - I remember when that was the most reliable.  WIll look for Janome - if I can afford one.

    Sun, anything with a dial to set the stitch (without LCD) will be much less expensive, easier to use and less chance of a break down. I do believe that Janome makes Kenmore. Watch for a sale! Those Kenmore people are on commission, so try to make a deal.
