Bonfire of the Goddesses

Stand back ladies, I will kick her ass into the fire. What a moron.
-
Leah, I'll help toss her in, how dare she!
Sandee, thanks for the rain, we had thunderstorms last night, had to log off in a hurry.
Jo, it's been two years since I quit smoking. It was before BC dx, but that's what finally got DH to stop smoking in the house. I'm so glad I quit and you will be too, stay strong! Toss any cravings in the fire.
-
badger - I think I have already tossed in the cravings - it has been 2 weeks today. DH is still smoking and I am gently working on him. I am already feeling much better. I did not use any of the nicotine replacement products - I went all natural and by gosh - they work.
-
excellent! I love the improvement in my senses of taste and smell.
-
badger - I can see my teeth are already getting whiter. I can breathe so much better - I have been at this nasty habit for 40 years.
-
Jo, for me, the impetus was turning 50. Quitting smoking was my gift to myself.
-
badger - I'm not sure what made me decide it was finally my time. Maybe having survived BC and having a whole different outlook on life, sick of having to do a lot of additional tests before having surgery and then before my recent biopsy???? Really doesn't matter at this point, I did it and that's all there is to it.

((JO))♥ (((HUGS)))
-
Sheila - You always know how to make me smile -
-
Jo and Badger:
Did you hear all that noise and rumbling coming from the Middle East today? It's not the Usual Suspects. It's Leah, jumping and cheering for you since you stopped smoking!
You go, girls!
Leah

-
jo1955, I just howled in laughter at your comment regarding Leah's bs: "Stand back ladies, I will kick her ass into the fire. What a moron."
Your comment is everything this forum should be about, commraderie, unity, support and encouragement. I just got such a fabulous mental image of you taking care of one of our "sisters" here on the boards, no holes barred, just the perfect response. Still makes me chuckle. Thanks for making my day.
-
DivineMrsM - Thanks so much. Glad I made your day.
I hate it that there are people out there and say or do really stupid things. It just pisses me off and I want to help out as much as I can.
-
Im still pissed off at Leahs Dr.....just cannot believe a Dr.would say such a thing....its pouring rain here so send her over here naked and maybe the thunder and lightening will get her..no fire now!!!
-
Leah, I may be a bit too late to help kick that doc into the fire, but at least I can roast marshmallows over her coals!!! S'mores for everyone!!!!
-
N3 YOU MADE ME LAUGH!
Tossing in all the BC 'Pink gifts", Hate them. People are still trying to give me scarves, Hello! I have been done with chemo almost 6 weeks, where have you been! Did not need a pink hat 6 weeks later, needed support 16 weeks ago when I started the slow crawl through hell, and you were no where to be found.
Badger,I know the perfect place In Mexico for the bonfire, right on the gulf side of the Yucatan Peninsula, outside of Merida Mexico there are several small villages with beaches that are perfect for bonfires.
-
Merilee... Congrats on finishing treatment! I'm packed...but can we just wait a month or two until AFTER hurricaine season is over?
-
Merilee - I know where Meridia, MX is - that have some great beaches. An evening bonfire and s'mores.
Voraciousreader - You really don't have to wait until hurricane season is over. Maybe wait until Oct - the peak of hurricane season is Aug & Sept.
-
Have been on a wonderful beach vacation, and took a vacation from ALL meds and supplements (including vitamins) except that little half of an ambien for sleep. I think I'm ditching them all .... has been so nice without them! But, of course, some of them MIGHT be doing some good, ... no way to tell for sure, but am seriously considering tossing them all into the bonfire and let nature take its course through good nutrition instead of supplements.
-
Linda - Each one of use has to make that kind of tough decision. You know what will work for you.
-

-

-
Thanks Granny for getting the fire going again. Seems no one had anything to burn for a while.
-
Jo...I guess it's been too hot outside for anyone to think of creating more heat with a fire....
Even better, perhaps life is good for a change!
-
I'd like to throw in all the members of Congress who can't settle down and do their jobs without squabbling like a bunch of hyperactive chickens in a coop.
