Low Body Temperature anyone?

I love acupuncture~ MBJ- So glad it seems to have made a difference for you. I'm doing well on the Adrenal rebuilder. Temp in the 98's.

I have always had low body temp. If I am at 98.6, I have a fever. Normal for me is more like 96.8/97 range . I also have low blood pressure and since both are "normal" for me sort of thought they went hand in hand. Whenever I am in the hospital and have any type of surgery, my BP really drops. The lst time I had a neulasta shot my temp was at 101 and that was really high for me. I can always tell when I am getting a fever because my eyes start to burn.
When other people are hot, I am usually comfortable and always need a sweater or some sort of jacket in the movie theater or at restaurants. I have found that I am much more tolerant of heat than I am the cold so in the winter we really need to keep the heat cranked up for me to be comfortable. Even though sunbathing is not really recommended for anyone, I have always felt better with a tan and to this day, love sitting in the sun, soaking up the heat, even on really hot days. When I had my Vit D levels checked simply because so many women on the threads were talking about them and how low levels seemed to go along with BC, mine was at 68 and I have never taken vitamins in my life (up until now and I am trying a few to ward off neuropathy) so I thought Ah ha, maybe all those years of basking in the sun paid off.
Since I have always been this way, I don't think it is any way related to my breast cancer. Both my mother and father had low BP and my mother is gone, but I will ask my Dad about his body temp to see if I inherited that also.
I just saw this thread and guess I should go back and read the whole thing to find out if this is something I should worry about. But at this stage of the game, I most likely won't.

Hi Marybe: I just seem to be having so many body temp related problems and it is really making me crazy. Not sure if there is a connection or not, I just know that I don't feel great.

Well, I finally broke down and got a rx for Lyrica. I would feel better for a day and then have 3 bad days...and nights were either ok or horrible. I've had 3 doses and am so dizzy, I am banging off the walls to get from the computer to the sofa...there are SO many side effects for Lyrica
hope they will abate, but I do say the aching in my legs and pain in the soles of my feet are somewhat better. Too bad I can't use them to even walk today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahaha
Temp holding in the 97's. Haven't had a 96.anything for two weeks. yaa
-
tnbcRuth: I have necver heard of Lyrica, but from what I have noticed, just getting your temp up will make the pain go away. Not an easy thing to do I have found. I am beginning to wonder if I have early Addison's Disease. Hopefully getting tested tomorrow.

MBJ, There is a Yahoo group that helps with adrenal function (NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS) and fatigue. There's a lot of good info there.

My body temperature is usually around 97.6. Sometimes a little lower, not usually higher. It was interesting to see this, as before starting chemo, I didn't take my temperature often at all.
-
Mine has come up since taking the Adrenal Rebuilders - ya! I'm in the low 98's most of the time

This is fascinating. A woman in my support group was reading a book about bc research in Europe and she mentioned this theory that women with bc have chronically low body temperatures. Everyone in the group reported having low body temperature! I haven't read this whole thread yet .... Just googled low body temp and breast cancer and found it.
Thanks for the info! -
my temp has been running 96,3 to 97,6 during chemo. My doctor said this is not uncommon and was not concerned. She was concerned when I had a tail fever of 100.5 since my temps has been running low. I had my second chemo yesterday. I am up now with night sweats and my temp is 96,3. Ugh.

When diagnosed with BC in 2012, I refused all standard treatments, so that did not cause my low body temp of feeling of being 'cold'. Was doing fine until last fall. Had a viral sinus infection and 2-4 weeks later started getting various pains and by Feb found the cancer had spread to bones(stage IV) . My body temp was always normal until then. Drs ignored my complaints of being 'cold' all winter (never was before), and body temp of around 97.3. My mother also had lower body temp when she had active BC. I'm doing much better since July, temp has now been consistently up to around 98.3. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Low body temps during active cancer outbreaks may be a cause, may be a result, but it should NOT be ignored by drs!!
