Hey Jo, loved the party especially the cowboys!! Congratulations on your 2 week anniversary, can you believe how far you have come, but then again you knew this was your quit time. hugs from Karen
-
Jo,
Absolutely no thanks are necessary!! I think we are all thrilled at how well you are doing and just happy that we can be there to help and lend support!
We have all been where you are now and made it through with the same kind of support!! You will do the same for someone! Actually, who knows how many people have read you posts, saw your success and decided 'You know what, I think it might be my time to quit'! You just never know!
Keep on keepin' on! -
You guys were partying and I didn't even know it!! Rock on. Yesterday was DH's and mine 4th anniversary. Been together 10 years and we sort of celebrated last night by hanging with 2 gal pals and their SO's and DH's gig at a local beach bar. Great fun was had by all and copious amounts of alcohol were consumed.
Jo, Keep up the good fight!!
-
Barbara,
I WAS wondering where you were! Not like you to miss a good party! lol. Glad to hear it was because you were partying in real life!!
Hope you had a blast! -
I was not sure what kind of parties you ladies were into. On one of the other threads I am on we have Friday night parties and virtual pillow fights on occassion. The parties are so much fun and it gives us a chance to interact and not talk just about BC.
Barbara - Belated Congrats on the 4 year anniversary. Glad you had fun partying in real life.
Karen - No, I can believe how far I have come in such a short period of time. I have realized that I really have to get the inside of my car cleaned and soon. Can't stand the stale smoke smell in it. I do have a small bottle of Febreeze I can spray in there for now until I can do the cleaning. It does help some but I have smoked in the thing for almost 3 years.
-
Happy 4th Barbara!
Our parties just get better & better! I'll have one year Aug. 10 so we can celebrate again in a few days!!
-
And my birthday birthday is Aug. 1. Glad to have it too although it's hard to believe I'm 54!
-
Bama, Happy BDAY tomorrow!
Tuesday is my 1 year 2 month anniversay of my quit. Woo Hoo!
Jo, getting the car cleaned will help a lot. I bought a car 3 years agao and swore I would not smoke in it. I managed to do that so when I did quit, I had no issues!
I will be traveling Wed-Fri and may not be around, just in case you wonder where I am.
Hi Seaside!
-

-

-
BAMA - Happy Birthday early.
Angelice - Great news - keep it up.
Barbara - Congrats on your wedding and smoking anniversaries.
-
BAMA - Happy Birthday!!!!!
Angelice - way to go!
Barbara - you ROCK!
-
Hi Michelle! How you hanging?
-
Barbara, two anniversary's - congratulations!. Angelice, you are quietly making your mark, Bama, Happy Birthday to you!!! Karen
-
Hanging on and hanging tight Barbara! Actually feeling pretty good physically and emotionally. The loss of hours and financial worries kinda suck but it is better then being unemployed, so I am grateful for what I have
-
Bama - Happy Birthday!BarbaraA - Happy belated Anniversary
Angelice - stop by anytime, keep us posted
o2b - i'm having issues at work too, we're still trying to work out my part time schedule (and I'm trying to deal with looking at a part time pay check) with clients expecting to be coddled every day.
jo - i forget, how long can you use your spray, wasn't there another step for you?
hi Karen and Seaside...just thought i'ld acknowledge you ladies too....
what sites do you ladies use for pictures, is there any one that is better than others, or do you just do a search and use whatever comes up?
-
(((Kal))) I just keep telling myself to be happy I have a job and am able to keep my health care benefits but at the same time it does make it hard to look for other jobs, especially when bene's are so hard to come by.
I use shutterfly for photo's
-
Kal - I just got a different natural stop smoking spray. The first one I had I stopped using because I discovered that it had St John's Wort in it and it does not go well with Tamoxifen. This new one does not have it in it. I can use this spray for as long as I need it since it is all natural, can be taken with any meds and has no SEs. It does seem to be working better than the first one.
It has been 17 days and DH is still smoking in the house. Just can't get him to budge on that. I stay away from him and use lots of air freshner. He is not motivated to quit right now and we all know about that.
-
Bama,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Here's to MANY, MANY more!!!!! This is a BIG month for you!! Birthday AND your 1 YEAR quit-aversary on August 10th! Mark your calendars ladies.... Party on the 10th!!!

-
Jo,
Great job on 17 days!!! You are doing great in spite of your husband refusing to got out to smoke!!
Kal and O2B,
Sorry that both of you are having to go through difficulties with your jobs! I know we always hear to be grateful for what we have but, sometimes it is easier said than done (especially in this economy)! Sending hope and prayers that everything will work out!
Hugs to you both!
Kal, As far as pictures, I just google and do a copy and paste... That works for pictures that have and actual url address associated with it... To post your own photos that are not hosted out on the web, you need to use something like shutterfly like O2B does!
Jan,
We haven't heard from you in SO long! I hope all is well with you!!
Happy anniversary, Barbara!!!! Hope you had a good one!!!
-
I have lots of luck using Photobucket for pictures or like seaside said - just copy the url address of the pic.
-
thanks girls, that's what I've been doing for photos, just thought maybe you had some favorite sites - photobucket seems to be the one that I feel "safe" with on the computer-gotta watch those viruses...
well, once again, can't catch a break, got up this morning, stripped the bed took em down to the laundry found water all over the floor and my double mop sink filled with water. i'm pretty savey in this stuff, so i pull out the shop vac to try and get some of the water out of the sink, well the shop vac shut off doesn't work so now i get more water on the floor from the overflow...so i jamb a rag in the one drain of the sink and start to plunge--can't do it because i have no strength from the BMX. so right now, the plumber is in my basement doing his thing and i have the check book open and i'm transfering funds into the account...
also, got a call from my mom saturday, my dad is in the hospital since friday with possible gall bladder issues, waiting for them to determine exactly what is going on and what type of surgery he will have. he's a feisty 82 year old, and a 18 year survivor of non-hodgkins lymphoma, but the man is in pain. my parents were supposed to be here today on a visit, had to cancel their flights saturday after my mom called with this bit of news
could REALLY use a cigarette right now, but have no fear I won't...just really frustrated right now...
-
Kal - Hang in there - it will get better (((((HUGS))))) good for you for not smoking.
-
kal, and it is pouring for you, you can do it kal, stay strong. This will pass and you;ll still be a non-smoker. hugs, Karen
-
oooooh, it was tough yesterday!!!! I actually went out to the garage to see if DH had left a butt that was large enough for me to light up...thank god he is good about keeping his ashtray clean..
still don't have an answer about my Dad, he seems to be in less pain and they are not giving him too many pain meds but they still have not confirmed what is going on. I begged my Mom to have the doctor call me (they won't talk to me because I'm not "designated" contact GGGGRRRRRRRRR), she feels she can handle this...
-
(((((kal))))) sending prayers that the doctors can figure out the best, least invasive treatment plan so that your dad no longer hurts
-
Dear kal, sending my prayers along too that they come up with a cause and prescribe painkillers so that your dad is comfortable. Strengthening prayers to you and your mom also. So sorry you are gong through this. hugs, Karen
-
Oh Kal..... No one should have to deal with all of that at the same time!!
Sorry to hear your Dad is in such pain! Hope they get to the bottom of what is causing it soon! My Dad was in the hospital the same summer that I was diagnosed. He was suffering from an attack of pancreatitis but, it took them a bit of time to figure that out. The poor man was in such agony that he finally broke down and cried! First time I ever saw him do that in my life.... It just broke my heart!
One good thing that came out of it was that he and my Mom both added me to their HIPPA forms saying that the doctor's can discuss their health issues with me. Keep telling my husband (whose Dad is in poor health) that if his parents don't list him on the form, they will not discuss anything with him but, he has yet to do that....
Glad to hear that you have remained strong and not picked up a cigarette in the face of all you are going through!!
Just remember, smoking will not make anything that you are going through better... It will just make things worse!
Stay Strong! Sending prayers your way! -
Wow! This thread has been quiet in the last 24 hours. I don't know if this counts for anything but tomorrow will be 3 weeks smoke free and that is with DH still smoking and in the house. I really don't have cravings anymore. Gotta work on the mental aspect of this. I do have a lot of sugar free hard candy all over the place and this new homeopathic spray I got is much better than the first one. I am not using it very often anymore but always have it available. Am pissed that I put on some weight and can't figure out how to get it off. I don't want to have to buy new clothes. Gotta find something to speed my metabolism back up. Anybody know what I can do? Please don't say exercise - that is not going to happen right now - have some other health issues I am dealing with.
Sorry I wrote a long post. Kinda feeling proud of myself about now.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
-
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Had a good day topped off with a steak dinner followed by a huge dessert!
