Here's our 3 year old "He-man" grandson, curled up in his beach towel riding to shore in a motor boat after a big day of water activity. I guess he can tire out. (Contrary to previously made announcement. LOL)
Pretty cute, huh?
(From my DD's facebook page, at Sheila's suggestion to bring it here.)

Hi Ladies.
Coonie you are right sort of I didn't break the foot just nearly ripped the toes off. Took a long time to heal but I am up and running again and am a little more careful these days. I still come here often the girls like all the pictures but I am so busy most days I don't slow down until it's time to fall into bed.
We are off on a road trip this weekend from Victoria to a place called Spurger here in Texas about a 4 hour drive. I am not looking forward to the drive with all these kids but must be done. Sorry to miss the storm coming in, I love storms. And we can definitely use the rain. We have had rain only once in months and not enough to even really call rain.
Coonie you will appreciate this. You know my brother "Sambo", real name was Samuel but he hated it, passed away a year ago. Was feeling a bit sad and out of sorts when a friend posted on face book about a local animal rescue group so I clicked on the link and there was this beautiful black minuture poodle named You guessed it "Sambo" So we now have another addition to the family. Between kids and animals we are now a full house and Hubby says if we get a scratch or a knock at the door he is barricading it! So my days of adopting are over until further notice.LOL
See you ladies later. Early day tomorrow.Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!
-
bkc..so sorry about your brother. would LOVE to see a pic of your new poodle!
thanks for thinking of me , coonie. thanks for putting me on that prayer list.
am having reactions to the synthroid, so backed down on dose. now, im dead in the water again.will have blood work, in aewhile, to see if the lower dose is working....
thanks for all the "cutie pics, ladies.........3jays

Home sweet home! Took an interesting trip this weekend.
Took a long time friend( closer to me than my own sister) and her 3 month old baby who had been staying with us to her family about a four hour drive from here. With the van packed with everything she owned that we could stuff in, a 6 and 7 year old and a breast feeding baby in the car it was quite a trip.
Everything was great until we get to the middle of downtown Houston and my 6 year old says Mom I gotta go NOW! I pulled off quickly and found a convenience store. Went inside and asked the clerk who is hidden in a wire mesh cage if they have a ladies room. He looked at me kinda crazy and pointed the way. I knew we were in trouble when I opened the door and kiddo said WHATS THAT ON THE WALL MOM?(Blood??? and lots of it) DON"T TOUCH ANYTHING!!!!! Are you sure you can't hold it? Of course not!!!!!!!!!! So I flipped out her handy potty seat cover and (Thank God for the person who gave me this years ago) she takes care of business and we are back in the car washing our hands with baby wipes. Lock the doors while Mommy finishes feeding baby and we are off again.Whewwww!!!!!!
My friend keeps nervously reminding me that her family is very "country" And I keep wondering exactly what she means. I mean do they pee off the front porch or what????? Over the years I have met her sisters and they were both very nice so I am at a loss. We pull off the highway onto a little dirt road and she says it is a little way,a little way turned out to be 9.8 miles, I checked.
By this time it is about 9pm and so dark I can see only as far as my headlights will let me. Up ahead I can see a glow in the sky and am wondering if there is a fire or what. I checked my phone and service was great(small prayer). We round a little bend and I see the lights.I pull into the long tree covered drive and cars, trucks, etc are everywhere!!!!! The place is lit up like the 4th of July!
Before I can think of backing out as fast as possible our van is surrounded by people and we are being hugged and greeted by people I have never seen before. We are hustled into an enormous home and shown to our rooms told where the bathroom is so we can "GET FRESH"!
The whole time my friends baby is being passed around from one family member to another and everyone is talking at once and saying how he looks just like Great-Grandpa or Grandma or etc.
Finally when I think my head will explode from all the noise and activity my friends brother-in-law who is about 6'4" and 240lbs and the owner of the home BOOMS OUT " Baby sister is home safe.An this nice lady and her kids have come a long way to bring em and they are bout worn out, hungry, and needin some peace so ya'll all go home and come back tomorrow. We gonna have a big fish fry so ya'll all bring somethin!"
In less than 5 minutes everyone had cleared out except my friends Dad and Step-Mom who had driven in from Dallas for the "home coming". We ate and settled the kids down to bed and my friend and I stepped out on the front porch for a breath of air.
She didn't say much, I guess waiting for me to say something, maybe to reassure her or to say something about her family.I don't know. I just gave her a hug and we both cried.I said "Honey this is a good place. You are safe and baby Joe is safe. Your family is here and I can see they love you and will help you make a new life. I know it's scary to leave everything behind but I am only 4 hours and a phone call away." And then we both cried again.
From the dark corner of the porch my friends brother-in-law said in a soft voice "Baby sister everythings gonna be ok. You can rest up here and no body is ever gonna hurt you again!" I think he was crying himself.
After a crazy day of meeting more family members and good food the girls and I were hugged and kissed and sent on our way with well wishes and prayers for a safe trip.
We are home and Hubby just informed me I'm not allowed to bring home any more strays at least for the next month!!!!!! sigh.......
