    Athena - great way of putting it up above on your post.  I am living my life now!

    I haven't been home all day and then had to catch up on 4 pages before I posted.  Still bummed about having to get the procedure done but I need to know what is causing me so much pain when my dh and I have sex.  It only hurts when he is inside of me more than 1" as it puts pressure on my bladder.  Other than that.....I have no bladder symptoms at all.  I am so hoping that she finds something so we can get to the bottom of this.  Never though of a kidney stone because I don't have any pain other than during intercourse when he pushes against my bladder which can't be helped.

    Did have a great ride on my horse today and then had the holistic vet out (ooops....did I actually say that?"  Actually she does chiropractic, acupuncture, and chinese herbs, aromatherapy, etc.

    Jancie - Procedures aren't fun (unless you get nitrous oxide...did I mention that???) but hopefully you'll have an answer and an easy fix to it.  It doesn't bother you when you ride?

    The crust on my bread is on the Stage IV Forum so i will post this here.

     My almost 6 year old granddaughter is very verbal. When she was 2 she went up the stairs and couldn't get through the baby gate. She said "Somebody locked the f*cking gate." That is when Dad cleaned up his languagwe.

    It's so funny when kids use inappropriate language.  My daughter gave her dad the finger once, behind his back, after he nattered at her about something stupid.  She was 5, I think, and didn't know specifically what it meant, just that it was bad.

    Apparently somebody "accidentally" reported one of my posts as spam - gee, really?  

    I've still got my hackles up from being bullied -yes-BULLIED (ha! I said it! Sealed) off of a discussion I was involved in this morning on another thread. I was respectful and rational, trying to have an honest discussion and ended up once again being shat upon and buried in a pile of irrelevant and conspiratorial cut/pastes.  I really don't know why I bother sometimes.  Harumph.

    How about posting a few words here at BCO in the Forum called Moving beyond breastcancer, Time to circle the wagons. Topic is"Please share how Breastcancer.org has impacted you."

    I just thought it would be an important way to show you care, like, use bco. This topic was started by Moderators in 2010, and I think there are only a handful of posts there. Lets load it up with our approval of BCO. ORG.

    CS - YES - clotted cream and strawberry jam!!! When I was off work during all this bc crap, I was having a scone everyday with exactly that. Went through a few jars of jam :) and quite a few pots of cream

    Nearly lunch time!!! Hope the busker is there.

    I don't know what you call it - not sure if that's what I eat. At the supermarket I can get tubs of cream which is really thick and doesn't need whipping. At the top is the thickest but when you get to the bottom it's a bit thinner. Come to think of it they call it thickened cream.

    thenewme - I lived on Via Manzoni right where it intersected with Via Patraka about 1/2 mile from the American High School.

    The best time of my life was when I was in Italy.  I liked Germany - we had two tours there but Italy shall always be in my heart - especially Napoli. 

    Sorry that you got a PM limit.  That happened to me a couple of weeks ago for no reason and the mods reinstated me immediately.

    susie -- Clotted cream is a British expression which used to be used in Canada quite a bit.  Now we have whipping cream (35%) and creme fraiche.  Oh, and I think my store actually does sell Devonshire Clotted Cream. 

    My father loved to pour (pour?) thick clotted cream on his whole wheat porridge.  I couldn't stand looking at it!  I think I was about 16 before I would even eat whipped cream!  (Yep, my older siblings called me dum-dum for that but, OTOH, there was more for them!). 

    dsgirl -- great to see you here and thank you for telling us about the thread.  Step up to the BCOB&G and have a drink with us!

    jancie -- I'm "ouching" along with you.  I daresay we can all imagine the discomfort; sure hope it gets dx'd and fixed pronto.

    thenewme -- I guess we know what happened...I admire your tenacityKiss.  Glad your pm abilities have been re-instated.  The mods are very quick to respond to posters' difficulties and questions.

    Hi, dsgirl!  Thanks for the heads-up about that thread. 

    You're right -- in these troubled times (!), it might help if we made our support for BCO a bit more visible.  BTW, there are other BCO forums that contain the same type of thread you mentioned ("Please share how breastcancer.org has impacted you").  I just took a look around and saw them in the Chemotherapy, Stage IV, and Moving Beyond Cancer forums; and even in this forum (Growing Our Friendships After Treatment).  There are probably even more of them in forums I didn't check.  I don't know if it matters which of them we post to, as long as we express our support somewhere.   I think BCO was going to use some of our statements in documents explaining what this site is all about.

    Hugs all 'round tonight, I think.

    Oh, time to award the Purple Heart for the DAY to thenewme!!!!!  My word, woman, you've got stamina!  Always trying to make sense, where there is NO SENSE - or, put an n in there and VOILA, nonsense.

    It is SUCH a waste to even think of reading all those L-o-n-g Cut&Pasters - then only to find the article is from some wacko ( yes, I said it!) place.  I'm with Blue on this one.  Tell me of your own experience, reading all this "stuff" is just a waste - anything, anything, can be printed on the "internet" and unless it is from a site I respect, and that doesn't include many more than Dana Farber, Sloan Kettering, MD Anderson, John's Hopkins - and it has to do with bc, then I'm just not going to waste my time anymore.

    Clotted cream, ambrosia.  Haven't had it except in parts of Devon,south west England, where it was so fresh it almost mooed.

    Ohhhh.... lemon curd!  When the May '08 chemo sisters got together in Texas last summer, we had lemon cream cheese kolaches; and if I understood correctly, that dollop of stuff in the center was lemon curd.  Apparently it can be purchased ready-made in stores in some parts of the country, but not here in the southeast (but maybe in Texas?).  So, I vowed to figure out how to make it.  Haven't figured it out yet.

    Congratulations, thenewme.  You deserve that Purple Heart.  Way back a long time ago (maybe last year?) we used to give out awards for the suckiest experience of the week on Traci's b*tch-and-moan thread.  I do think we should recognize bravery in the line of fire.

    Anne, so sorry about Murphy. I know how hard it is to lose a furbaby. HAve had Gus our ginger cat to the vet this week, I was so upset when I realised his back was bleeding. Cats here tend to live outside  (and inside) ours come and go as the please..

    Lemon curd, yummy stuff and easy to make.

    Ingredients

    4 large juicy lemons
    200 g butter
    2 cups sugar
    4 eggs ( beaten )

    Method

    Wash Lemons then finely grate the rind and squeeze the juice into a small saucepan. Add the beaten eggs, sugar and butter cut up into little cubes.

    Constantly stir with a wire whisk over the gentle heat until the sugar dissolves and mixture thickens, keep the heat very low and don't be tempted to speed it up or to stop stirring.

    Pour into a plastic container and store in the fridge.

    Variations: Replace lemons with limes, oranges or tangelo's or passionfruit pulp.

    Must go and see what grandaughter is up to, she has had me playing with playdoh this afternoon!

    Morning Athena - Hope you have a lovely day if possible - is your work airconditioned?

    I'm absolutely exhausted and aboutto hit the sack.

    We had porterhouse steaks (hormone free), fries, veg with Diane sauce for dinner.

    Only 1 week of work left - I've got most of my work for this project done, only a little bit left for next week. The testers are trying hard to find bugs and come and see me and tell me it doesn't work. So then I show them what they are doing wrong. I love it when I'm right!!! The only thing they've found wrong so far was a space I shouldn't have had in a database script - oops a typo.

    Finally the personal loan has been approved but it looks like we won't need it. The people DH billed yesterday are sounding like they've sent the whole amount - we'll see if it arrives in the post early next week and then we're set. All looks good for a comfortable holiday. We've already paid for most of it - we just need money for food and presents for me:) and money for the Paris hotel and the B&B's in Scotland.
