Hi everyone: Wow, it's going to be a big party!  According to those who replied, the following are planning to attend:

Lassie11, 208Sandy, AnnNYC, Bluedahlia, barbe1958, enjoyful, mumayan, hrf, sugar77, rachel5738, pamdo, BinVa, Luah, PLJ, pip57, BarbaraA, HappyLibby, cookiegal, lewing, RosemaryB

The maybes include Leprechaun, dreamwriter, covertanjou, Athena and She.

If I've left anyone out, please beat me with a wet noodle -- it wasn't intentional!

For those who are driving, please pmail me your email address so that I can send out directions on a group list.  BTW, 208Sandy in Burlington and dreamwriter in Scarborough are both seeking rides.  Unfortunately, there is no direct bus route into our little town.  Hope someone(s) can help out.

This year it's potluck, although I'll look after protein (cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheeses) as well as cold drinks.  I'll also be ordering a huge, delicious chocolate cake  from Willow Cakes and Pastry in memory of Konakat, and the American gals will chip in and pay for it.  Willow has a website -- you can check out their fantastic creations.

As for the potluck part, I'm suggesting healthy salads (spinach/mushroom; broccoli; mixed veg; tabbouleh etc. and/or appetizers.  As stated before, I'm not depending on homemade  -- something purchased at your local deli is fine!  And for those who aren't fans of chocolate, a fresh fruit salad would be nice instead.

There, hope I've given you enough ideas!  It would probably help if you pmailed me what you plan to bring.  I love broccoli salad, but I don't want 3 of themTongue out.

Oh yes, the time is 12 - 12:30.

What have I forgotten?  Always open to suggestions from my lovely BC sisters!

    Linda, thank you for hosting again.  I don't know if I can make it.  It is about 7 hours from Montreal, and I don't necessarily feel comfortable driving alone that long.  I also have to see what is going on at home, but I really, really want to come.  I may have to put my big girl panties on and just do it!

    Linda how does some black olive focaccia bread sound to offset the protiens.  I'll be there on Sat. so don't know if a salad would keep.  Let me know.

    If you plan to arrive around 10-2 on Saturday and leave on Monday between 10 - whenever, I can pick you up.

    Wow ... this is going to be a big party!!  Can't wait to see everyone.  I sure hope the "maybe's" can make it .. I don't want to miss out on anyone.  Happy and Enjoyful made their flight arrangements this morning, so they're ready to rock and roll too. 

    Linda .. can you PM me your addy so I can send you a check for the cake.

    Bren, haven't ordered it yet, but no need to send a cheque -- cash (Cdn or U.S.) will be fine when you get here.

    Meant to add to the OP -- dress is casual, or whatever you would wear on a summer day to be comfy!  (No Scarlett O'Hara gowns -- got that, Blue??)

    Mary .. if you are flying into Buffalo, you can carpool with all of us.  We'll have a couple of cars rented!  Hope you can make it .. would love to meet you!  Most of us arrive in Buffalo on Saturday late morning.

    Hi Linda,

    I was wondering if I may contribute to the cake for KK, I know it's silly as I never met her but really miss her.  You know people are always talking of the pioneers who went before us and the path they cleared for us, well I don't know Shirley Temple Black or Betty Ford, I know KK who was a wonderful beacon for so many, how she could calm your nerves and how she could make you laugh what can I say she sure is missed.

    Cheryl -- that is so kind and thoughtful of you!  Yes, our dear konakat was definitely a beacon of light and hope for so many of us here.  We all miss her -- and her wonderful self-deprecation and sense of humour.  Just seeing there was a post from her - even before reading it - made me smile.

    I've had a couple more requests to contribute from others like yourself.  haven't ordered the cake yet, so I'm not sure how much it will be.  When I do, I'll let you all know.

    Me, too! I am so excited! I am a traveling fool: NOTL in Aug, BCO lunch this Sat, visit w/a gal pal in Sep in MD, visit from a gal pal in Sep, BCO lunch in South FL in Sept, BCO reunion in Shell KNob, MO in Sep, then cruise Oct 30. Woo Hoo.
