ETA Thanks to you too Athena

Good luck tomorrow, Rosemary. My roomie!

Do you want as in your bag? I promise to keep my tail to myself. Otter and I are going to have to make some compromises.
-
Athena, you told me I could have the fish. Are you changing your mind??? I'll try not to get everything wet this time. We'll be there.

I'll come along too ... if the lion will promise to be good ... or at least eat before the trip

(((hugs))) to apple. Hope the icky feeling goes away soon!

Alpal - not we don't have Thanksgiving here - I just love turkey sandwiches every working day.
-
Sue,
I really like you, but we need to talk about zuchinni.
-
Whew! go away for 3 hours and have 3 pages to read.
Way back comment about cutting dollar in half reminded me of my older daughter when little. She wanted to buy somethng and I said I had no money. 'Well' says she, 'why don't you buy some some?' You can't buy money, I said.' Yes you do' she said, 'you buy money at the supermarket'. We lived in an isolated suburb and the local supermarket acted as a bank and so we cashed our cheques there.
Alpal we don't have Thanksgiving either.

thanks for all of the support. I left there really stressed today and ended up having a horrible ride on my horse - finally just got off of her because I couldn't get it together.
I have been dealing with this issue for 2 years. I don't have vaginal atrophy, I don't have problems with my cervix or uterus - all of that has been checked.
It took 45 days to see a gynocologist - never had one in my life as I never had kids so why do you need one? My GP always did my pap smears.
So what I didn't know is that he would put his hands "there" and when he pushed against my bladder I thought I was going to hit the roof. He referred me to a urologist as he said my bladder might be irritated. Ok, I have had 3 UTI's my entire life - no problems with all of the other things associated with the bladder.
Yet, she pushed her finger against my bladder in the same spot and it hurt bad - feels like a knife going into you. And you wonder why sex hurts so bad?
Being pushed into menopause via chemo - lack of estrogen all of a sudden, etc. does create problems with the bladder. This procedure they are going to scope out my bladder, fill it with saline solution, dilate my uretha, etc. She doesn't think I have bladder cancer but nor would she rule it out and said if she finds anything there she will remove it and send it to the lab but without putting a scope inside of me it would be hard to come up with a firm diagnosis.
On top of all of that - she said she thinks I might have a heart murmur. She listened for a very long time and said that it is slight but then she isn't a cardiologist and I should have that checked out.
Ok....freak me out some more would you?
I don't know if ya'll know this story but I found out I had breast cancer because this 1500 lb horse kicked me on the left side of my chest and I flew back 15'. My heart started doing all sorts of crazy stuff so I had someone drive me to the ER. Ended up on morphine (first time ever
) and the EKG was fine at that time. However, 2 weeks later my left nipple was very painful so I made an appt with a GP (45 days later) and he felt the lump in my breast while doing a physical. At that time I had no GP because the only time I needed medical assistance was for broken bones and sinus infections and InstaCare can take care of all of that. So the waiting began to get an appointment with a GP. Then another 3 weeks to get a mammogram.
Oh yes.....I had tried to get a mammogram and they told me they couldn't do it if they had no doctor to send the report to so that is why I had to go find a GP. That horse accident was in October and it took until December 30th before I could get a mammogram.

((((((((((Jancie))))))))))))

Cheryl - sorry I spelled it incorrectly - I could eat them in a frittata but not as is.
-
Hugs to you Jancie...
Otter, may I have some pie?
-
(((Jancie))) You know, on the stage I/II forum we had a discussion not long ago relating to studies finding that blunt for trauma to the breast may cause cancer to spread. It may be related to inflammation. I, too, felt my lump after bumping myslf on the right breast.
Otter and WR: I promise to fill up on prey. Otter, you can have all the fish you want.
So today we think of:
--Rosemary
--Jancie
--That's life has scans or had them recently, I believe.
Over the longer term:
--HL will find out whether she can have DIEP
--Hadley's formation will be identified.
Anyone else?
Glad to see that this thread had a peaceful night's sleep.
'Evening, Susieq!

Thanks, HL. Forgot to mention, today is my 4th anniversary. I am so lucky to have met him. We have been together for ten years. His band plays at a beach bar tonight so instead of a romantic dinner (had that last night), I will be rocking/bluesing out. FB friends, watch for videos.

Congratulations, Barbara. Love conquers....a lot!

I wanted to add: if ever on this thread we start trading stories about bad jobs it will probably be more depressing than cancer. In fact, I think a job I had was partly responsible for my cancer and now, instead of calling it The Center on XXXX and XXXXX XXXXX I call it the Center on Cancer. It had disastrous consequences on my comorbidity After I left, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was mortally ill about about to die. About eight months later, I felt my lump.
A job you hate can be like a prison sentence. It can also be traumatizing. The fact that I love my present job has made a huge difference.
Snipped.

I hear you Athena. Unfortunately, with the type of work I do, a new job would entail travel 75-90%. At my age, I just don't want to be away from home that much. I have been travelling for 25 years and loved it when I was younger but not now. Ugh. I am still looking for anything really, at this point. Maybe I will go back into accounting.

Morning Athena,
I love my present job, but one I had a couple of years before that was a nightmare. I used to cry every morning when I woke up for 4 and a half years. What a prick he was to work for. When DH's bowel cancer was diagnosed and he was having surgery etc, I had to take some time off of course. Well, the bast%^d called me up from Hong Kong one weekend (we had visitors BTW) and insisted I work all of the coming public holidays because he had lost money because I took time off. I only took leave that was due to me and any odd hour I had to leave early, I made up the time. Finally I escaped and haven't looked back. He was also a miserable payer and I now earn 32,000 a year more. I was stuck there because there was a real down turn in the IT job market at the time and even though I looked for a new job every day, it took me that long to find one.
Dinner was yummy - lamb korma curry but I'd run out of pappdums - drat!!
I've been a good girl today and went and purchased our cash passport card thingys for the trip. DH went to see the people that owe him big time, but they didn't pay some up front unfortunately cos he didn't ask - idiot - but he feels confident they'll pay before we go.
Been having a laugh at Big Bang Theory rerun - I love that show.
Early night I think for me - I'm was SO tired at work today.
I hope today is peaceful for you all.
Did the kitty come back? I'm so worried about Murphy. Poppy (my kitty) is too

"I hereby testify that I have never received any compensation whatsoever, of any variety, in exchange for my mention of the drugs or therapies I have been given in the treatment of my breast cancer."
I hate Arimidex, chemo, radiation. I whine about them every chance I get. No pay for me!
OW Jancie! I've been kicked in the leg but yours...OW OW OW!
Susie - I was having some difficulty dealing with the cancer and hit a rough patch at work. My boss chased me down in the ladies' room and started telling me all the things I had done wrong WHILE I WAS ON THE TOILET. I'm convinced the stress I endured with that job led to my cancer. That, and my father's death, and my troubled marriage. Want me to come down there and kick your ex-boss around a little bit? :-)
Good morning, all.
-
I am certain that they will one day find a connection between stressful jobs and cancer. Everybody gets stressed for different reasons on the job. What can really, really do me in even more than a nasty boss (and I've had some of those) is boredom. But bad supervisors are terrible. I had one that lied on my review and said I hadn't done things which I had. I was able to prove it later, but the damage was done. It's awful to even admit that someone is out to get you, let alone have it happen.
-
Thing is it was way over 4 years ago - I actually got the bc while in my new happy job - so that blows up that theory

Now, I'm really going to bed.
-
Onc appt isn't until 1:45 so I will be useless at work. Another cause of stress is getting used to a new boss, but you guys make me feel better. My new boss is nowhere near as bad as you all have had.
You can jump in the bag now but you have to be quiet at work. I am getting of Femera Period. The onc may have another med to offer but I will only promise month to month. There is a list of at least 10 side effects I wrote for him.
And I had a MUGA scan. I am worried my heart function is worse even though I have more energy. Illogical I know but I am not a Vulcan.
Now I have to hurry and get ready for work or I will be late.
-
Morning Everyone!
I love my job, the problem is I don't have enough work! Being self-employed is really tough sometimes, but it's a thousand times better than when I worked in corporate America.
Hope everyone has a great day.

I blame my cancer on the stress of living with my ex-husband, and surviving 23 years of marriage without choking him. I do not look good in orange, so I saved myself by leaving. I too am blessed with having found my true love after closing the door on that marriage.
My stress right now is from not having a job, and not being able to find one!
Rosemary, we will be quiet as church mice in your bag, as long as Athena doesn't decide she needs to snack.
Jancie, hoping your bladder problems are just a temporary irritation from chemo. Never had chemo, but over this last year, probably because of the stress of looking after my Dad, I kept having symptoms of UTI's. Lots of spasms and discomfort, but put off going to the doctor because I just didn't have time to go. When my discomfort forced me to go, no UTI, but hematuria, which is basically blood in the urine, unspecified cause. Haven't had any followups, took two rounds of pyridium which calmed everything down. (and no, no compensation from Big Pharma!) I did have a friend who had to go in every couple of months for several years and get her urethra dilated. I drove her a few times, and she said it wasn't a big deal, she would just be sleepy from the meds and go home to sleep and rest for the day. Rest, drink lots of fluids, limit your caffeine intake, and feel better soon.

This is me in Rosemary's bag right now:

More docile a creature never walked the earth.
-
Let sleeping lions lie. Shhhh..... don't worry Rosemary, we'll make sure she behaves.
-
Wow, lots to read, probably only to remember a few:
Rosemary - Please put a "sunflower" in your pocket too, happy to hold ALL the anxiety you can fill the pocket with. I think my bp rises by so much just thinking of appts. But expecting ALL WILL BE WELL.
Jancie: OUCH. Just OUCH. Wild idea, could it be a "kidney" stone that got "stuck" in your bladder? Still thinking it's something "innocent" jsut causing amazing trouble. Fingers crossed for an easy solution.
Athena: Krammerbooks - oh, I can see it as I write. My stop after Beadazzled down the street. Do they still have great books in the north window: Poop Happens.
Marmite: How can a person make Soldiers for their soft boiled eggs without Marmite? Still have several jars in the pantry. They never spoil. Anyone visiting London always has My Marmite on their list.
Murphy - WHERE ARE YOU?????
Apple - hope you stop trotting soon - I still use a LOT of immodium. Was worried about using too much, but docs said it was ok. Only thing that's ever helped me
Can't remember anymore - lovely to see so many active women.
