vhshea: 63 down 1762 more to go.
I get warm flashes...constant covers up and down at night...worse if I drink even one glass a wine. I think that's truly a crime!
-
GirlFriday, I had lots of hot flashes ititially but they have decreased. I have an occasional glass of wine and then I get more. It is a crime. Ugh BTW, where are you in ME? I am now on Aromasin due to inablility to tolerate side effects of Tamoxifen after 2 years I gave up. Less joint pain and fatigue.
-
Im only 2 1/2 months into Tamo and the SE are still going strong. I really only have the flashes as far as the SE go. I still have pain, but that is leftover for the chemo.
-
Wow - that s*cks - no wine! what about beer and liquor???? LOL...
-
I notice that any wine or beer that I drink causes me to be very warm in the middle of the night. Since I don't drink much I wonder if I pulled a good one and just passed out if I would even notice the hot flashes. LOL
-
Sherryc: I say up the dosage! You're in Texas, don't they do everything big down there?
Beer seems to enhance the joint acheyness, and liquor seems to do the same thing as wine. I'm sure I sound like an alcoholic, but I really just use it for medicinal purposes once or twice a week

haltsaluteatx: I'm outside of Portland. Actually now I live closer to Auburn!

I finally got my bone density test back and it was good. I had it done almost two weeks ago and I think somebody layed my report somewhere and I kept calling, finallly I told them look it has been almost two weeks and someone obviously needs to find it. That was at lunch and so someone got on the ball and by the end of the day I had the report. I did not think there was anything wrong with my bones, it was a base line and I just wanted the results. Glad it was not anything serious, but I guess anyone can make a mistake. So now I get to start Fosomax which I was a little freaked about but I talked to my Dentist about it today and she assured me it would be OK. One of the SE can be bone deterioration in your jaw but she said it is very rare, she has only seen it happen once.
-
Sherry so glad to hear your test was good yippeeee!!! hugs to you
My chest xray came back normal so i guess all the pain is just post op and imflammation, so time will heal it!.
I think i had one giant hotflash last night... yuck i didnt know the back of my knees could sweat lol!
hope everyone is having a good evening hugs to all!!!!
-
Sherry - WOO HOO on the test results!!!
Tink - Glad you are doing better and the chest xray was normal.
HUGS to everyone

Hey Ladies how are you all? Got back from vacation over the weekend and was immediately put to work cleaning out my Dad's house as the For Sale sign was going up over the weekend. Well it sold, so I guess it's downhill from here......Mom was very very sad as she realized she was never ever getting out of the Nursing Home. A lot of family BS with a cousin about money my father lent him and one of my brothers is starting all the crap................I am so mad I cannot even begin to explain it, but really if my Dad wanted anything back he would have had it written down somewhere as he was as sharp as a tack up to the day he died.
Glad to hear all is well with everyone (Sherry, ECG, Tink and Paula) I miss you all very much and promise to resume normalcy soon.......
Jo Jo, Sandee how are ya???
-
June - That kind of stuff happens when parents have to sell their places - seems like everyone wants to fight about something - that is so wrong. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. Sure miss you here. Sending hugs to you.

Hi June Jo Paula and all my tammy ladies xo
-
Happy anniversary Alicia. Reminded me we have one on Aug 6th---45 years according to the calender but I don't believe it. Seems more like 10, 12 or so. Last year I started radiation on Aug 7th. Every year on our anniversary DH asks me to "renew our contract". Last year he asked for a 44 year renewal. That may be a bit optimistic but I plan on a lot of years still ahead.
-
Hi Chabba - Where have you been??? Hope you are doing well.
-
Congrats Alicia on your anniversary, 21 yrs, WTG!.
Tink I'm glad you had a good time last night. I know when you dont feel well and the hubby wants to go go go its hard. Rest up today!

Hi Everyone!
Looks like some older post but hopefully somebody will read this.
I was diagnosed in April 2011 with DCIS, I've just finished 16 rads. If you choose and the doc agrees rads are cut in half now. Ask about the 3 week plan. It's something they've started doing in the United States and I thought I'd try it. Just a bit more radiation. They've been doing it in Canada and Europe for years.
Now, Onc wants me to start 5 year Tamox. I've been doing a lot of research and have decided against it. Tamoxifen is a known cacinogen! They don't tell you that part. I will take my chances and steer clear.
Balancing out my body seems a better choice for me. I know there are a lot of chemicals and enviromental poisons we run into everyday but I just don't feel comfortable physically putting it into my body.
I hope I don't sound harsh but my decision is final. I have a gut feeling about this.
The only problem I see is that I am level 3 dcis (out of 4)
I am still going to my appointment tomorrow to talk to the nurse. She is supposed to have my script in hand! I'll tell her about my decsion when I get there!
Good luck to everyone in all your endeavors.
-
Hi, Ladies. Missed you. Got home with my foot in a cast quite well. You get whisked through an airport in a wheelchair, fast like I've never seen. Now I'm navigating the stairs here, trying not to fall again!
Glad to hear there are good test results and surgery recoveries. June, sorry you are having stress with your family. Sounds hard.
Nice to see new faces, too (big of me since I'm a relative newbie, myself!)
Great to be home. Feel good,
Shari -
Thanks for asking Jo. I've been down with pneumonia for almost a month. Doing better now but still not back to par.
-
Chabba - So glad you are on the road to recovery - sending (((HUGS)))
Dukette - Welcome to the Tammi Train. Each one of us has to make that decision whether or not we will take Tammi for the 5 years. The choice is absolutely yours and you know your body best. Best of luck to you.
-
Chabbe.. so sorry to hear you have been so sick but glad you are feeling better hugs for continued recovery!!!!
Dukette.... welcome.. Yes we all have to make the decision that is best for us. Whatever you do decide I wish you the best of luck and we are always here for any support you may need!!!!
