hillck, I doubt your comment supporting me was what got your rights flagged. At least, I don't think the person who was upset with me also became upset with you.  (I'm guessing about that.)  The person who was upset with me has apologized by PM and in a post on one of her threads.  So I think things are okay on that front.

Whoa.  We just had an incredible thunderstorm roll over us.  It was a small, red spot on the colorweatherradar, but it blew like crazy, tilting our big trees sideways.  Our power is out, our TV (DISH Network) is out, and our main internet service (HughesNet satellite) is out.  I had to switch to battery power and our Verizon MiFi card (on battery too).  At least the phone seems to be working.  I might have to duck for cover -- there's another hot cell moving this direction.

So, as for tonight's supper.... since the microwave quit before the chicken breasts got thawed, I'm going to have to punt.  I think it will be a can of soup tonight, or maybe some venison stew, either of which we can heat up on the propane camp stove.  Or, maybe we'll tear open a couple of the MRE's Mr. otter keeps hidden away for emergency purposes.  They come in pretty handy during a power outage -- they have little internal heating devices to which you add water, and they warm up nicely.

We were planning to watch a Netflix movie tonight, but that might have to be postponed.  Hmmm... gotta think about this one. 'Course, we do have a generator, but it's a major pain in the butt to pull it out and get it all hooked up, especially if it's just to run the TV to watch a movie.  And, what about the POPCORN???

Heath Bar Blast?!? Ooh, I've missed this somehow. I love heath bars, and as a coating for ice cream bars, and now Breyer's has it mixed in with the ice cream? Will definitely be looking for that. Thanks for helping me be bad, Libby! Laughing

It is a tough job, Riley, but somebody has to do it! Corrupting the healthy and explaining to cats that their parents DID NOT forget to feed them. My day is a success!

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one with the unhealthy eating habits tonight. I'm sure it's the weather.

Otter, sorry about your electricity - the staff of life.

Yes it does, Bren.  How can people be so vindictive just because they don't get everything they want, that there are rules?

Edited to clarify who the post was to, and to remove something I thought better of.

Otter .. being without power sucks.  Hope it gets turned back on soon.  And you can't watch a movie without your popcorn!  Seems like a lot of work to get the generator up and running.  But a good thing to have in case your power is out for awhile.

Wow, four pages I had to zip past so I could post an update on Robert and his missing nut. I'll go back and read through them, because it's too much fun not to! Anyhoo, after getting him all prepped and set to go, the anesthesiologist noted that he seemed a little sick (he started getting a slight fever and cough last night) to go through with the procedure, so it's rescheduled for next Tuesday. Augh! He was so cooperative until near the end when he whined that he didn't like that hospital and wanted to just go home. (For the record, Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando is incredible and very kid-friendly.) Now that he knows what's going on, it could go either way on the cooperation angle. He's so cute and charms all the ladies, so it's always a blast to watch him in action. So...NEXT Tuesday I would welcome those prayers and thoughts and hugs again. Bless you all!

About that other site and the stuff being said there ... all I can say is that anybody who comes here and looks around a bit will quickly be able to see it is not as being portrayed.

I love employers who allow employees to donate leave time to each other.  I was a federal employee and we could do that too.  It can help so much when somebody has medical problems.  Riley rocks ... and best wishes and a couple of (((hugs))) to Hadley.

We had fresh corn on the cob and cucumbers from a local farmer and tomatoes from our garden for dinner tonight.  Along with some salmon things I bought and will never buy again.  My cucumbers are not doing well this year ... neither are my brothers so I think it must be weather related.  Bummer.

Haven't seen Joan back yet ... hoping all went well for her little guy.

Sounds like Barbara could use a hug or two also.  Hope what's left of your day gets better.  Some days it just does not pay to chew through the chains as they say.

Ummm ... Libby I'm not sure you speak 'cat' very well.  Your cat was not insisting that she had not been fed ... she wanted some of that chicken breast!!!  OK ... she probably wanted all of it.

Joan, we'll just keep stacking up our good thoughts for your little guy so he will have a BIG backpack of them to carry with him next week.

WR, actually, insisting that Dad forgot to feed her is my kitty's M.O. You see, once a few years ago, I didn't realize DH had already fed her. I looked in her bowl, it was empth, and she was twining around my feet whining. So I fed her ... Again, it turned out. So now she thinks if she can convince me that Dad FORGOT to feed her, I will feed her again. She has been known to fall over sideways because she is so weak from hunger. Although she can't actually lay flat on her side because of her little torpedo belly....
