Apple, don't know what you will post later, but FYI your link to a page on BCO about soy was clickable and worked. Smile

BUT the mods posted some links in pinned threads on this forum and those were not "live." Very strange.

so many rules and such.. I just wanted to check to see if this was ok to post.

all you do is copy the address from the top browzer bar and paste it into the body of text you are writing.  you then have to delete the http://  or when you copy it start with the www.

after you paste it in, you hit the enter key so the link turns purple.

btw.. that choice of thread was totally random.. it has no significance... from my intention at least.

apple, I've been able to get workable links to the "educational" pages of BCO all along, even if I leave the "http" part in the address.  I think that's true, anyway... it's been awhile since I did one of those.  I'll have to do an experiment after I eat lunch.

OTOH, I never have been able to create a functional link to a page in the BCO discussion boards.  The link looks fine after I submit the post -- it's highlighted etc., and it's underlined when I mouse over it -- but when I click on such a link, I end up at an error page.   Someone told me it's because I'm using Firefox.  I do recall someone else (AnnNYC?) who's been able to create links to discussion board pages and have them work properly.

... I just noticed that, when I put my cursor on the link you (apple) created, the "real" web address that appears at the bottom of my screen (I have a Mac) does include the "http://" ... even though you left that out of the line you typed.  It turns out -- and this nifty -- you can type anything you want in the line you're writing in the compose window.  It's what you insert into the "Insert/edit link" address line that counts.  So, you could use "HERE" as the hypertext link in a post, but clicking on "HERE" would take the reader to the web address you copied to the "Insert/edit link" window.

Did I confuse y'all sufficiently?  Should we have a review session before the quiz?
