DCIS and HER2, I think I should post here

Good Morning,

I was wondering if anyone has come across a paper regarding HER2 NEU positive DCIS inside the ducts only, no metastasis.  I cannot find one anywhere. Help.

    I'm interested in this too.  I can't find any reference to HER2 at all in any of my reports.  I will see the MO next week after finishing rads, but I don't even know if it was looked for in the lab.

    I had DCIS that was HER2+.  I ended up having some get outside of the duct and had to move forward for there but if I remember correctly my DCIS was Her2+.  It was in the pathology report along with the ER+ and PR+ percentages.

    So if I don't see anything about HER2 in my biopsy report, does that mean they didn't test for it?  Should I ask for them to test for it when I have my lumpectomy?  (just diagnosed with DCIS Friday)

    My doctor said they do not usually test for her2 status with pure DCIS because of the reasons given in the above posts, however her practice is running a study of hert2 status in patients with DCIS that is treated with lumpectomy and radiation... I had a BMX so I am not followed in the study but she ran my hertz anyway, sort of wish she had not as I was strongly positive and it has given me something else to worry over..

    I am starting the clinical trial tomorrow after my first radiation treatment for 2 doses of Herceptin. I had DCIS which was removed with a lumpectomy and has clean margins. It tested positive for HER-2 and also highly positive for Estrogen. Worried about the side effects from H but seems they are not too bad and as I said we are only getting 2 doses. Glad to hear that your DCIS disappeared and they think it was the H but it sounds like you took that longer than 2 doses.
