I went to boarding school in France so you would think I would be fluent....There was a time, once upon a loooong time, that I even read Proust in French.

So did you all see the eleventh hour whitewashing done by the mods on the thread that is neither holistic nor healing? Merde! :-)

    Merde, c'est vrai!

    Sorry I missed the excitement...or am I?.

10 years of French here and I can sort of read it but people need to speak tres lentement for me.

Sorry for the American computer that won't do accents and my probably terrible spelling.

Athena - I just saw that and was going to make mention of it.

Notice how odd it is that we have never had a rash of deletions in this thread?

Don't know why I got deleted - all I did was copy and paste the dictionary meaning of the word "snotty" but that ticked off several people apparently.  I guess they don't need a lesson in English.  And I also made reference to the fact that if someone takes another person's post out of context because they don't understand english then they should apologize.    I broke no rules, I wasn't rude and once again I get deleted.

I haven't gotten an email about it yet!

Lindasa - ooops - so I did. Better get that French lesson book out :) I do know what 'il y a' means - god I'm hopeless. Unfortunately I come from the generation where conversation was not taught at school, whereas our son had a native speaker teaching him.

Just decided to vacuum upstairs - done - then thought I should wash the bathroom and kitchen  (our kitchen is upstairs) floors - done. Now DH has to wait until it dries to get lunch, but seeing he had a big breakfast he can wait until 1pm or so. I am definitely out of condition - totally pooped again!!! I need one of those steam mops. But using a mop and bucket is environmentally friendly as we have solar hot water and I didn't use any electricity washing the floor - but then there's the chemical washing liquid.

Now I can relax, have a shower, heat up the left over pizza and maybe go shopping. Sounds like a really good plan. But I do need to water the garden this afternoon. And I have to put the chicken in the oven.

Enjoy what's left of your day girls!!!

OMG - I'm a deletee!! Seems like they've only done 2 pages so far - I hope they go back further.

Jancie - is it the time trial you're watching?

AND they want to know why this thread doesn't have a rash of moderator deletions. Um...because we behave ourselves. Easy ,peasy.

Zut Alors!!! I've forgotten what that means but it seems appropriate. Off to have that shower it's after 12:30 - normal Sunday morning routine for me.

I was deleted too, but I think they were deleting everything following the same conversation.  I'm just wondering if they will delete the post that prompted that discussion, if only on copyright basis.  I think just a portion of the article without that picture would have been fine.

    Ah well c'est la guerre.

We thought it was hilarious to say that instead of c'est la vie. Maintainent la,vie est la guerre

Speaking of breast cancer treatment of course.

HL, if you go to Google translate and type in the English and select for it to be translated into French then you can copy and paste the result which will have the little hat.  I know there are better ways but I forget what those are.

I remember shortly after the beginning of the war in Iraq, after France would not go in with us, French fries were called "Freedom" fries at some restaurants.

I believe some of you may be less than patriots. Tongue out

Somebody quoted me from here to the other thread Laughing  Too funny!!!

Yes, am watching the time trials right now.  I had to sneak down to my computer and see what was going on.

I will be up LATE LATE LATE TONIGHT!  I thought I might get tired since I took 1.5 pain pills because my darn hips are killing me - they hurt on the outside so I can't lay down on my right or left side - have no clue as to why but can't sleep with my dh at all now because I am in too much pain.
