    another thought for kitty,  white healing light, and soft breezes when you get home.  No vacuuming, not heavy windows, lots of rest, and herbal tea - hot or cold...

    My Mom was an Atheist who died of uterine cancer.  She remained Atheist until the end and drew on other strengths.  She insisted that we go to Sunday school and church every Sunday until we were in 6th grade because, "You can't say you don't believe in somthing you don't know anything about"  When given the choice, we said "we're outa here"  I never sought out aorganized religion but found myself falling into being a Quaker because it matched my values. It basically means "seeker"which means you find your beliefs as you grow. I 'ver arely gone to Meeting  since moving to another state but wish I did at times for the support.  I think whatever calls to a person is what's right for them.

    I've just come across this poem by an Australian poet called Rosemary Dobson..I really liked it and thought some of you might enjoy it too...so, while saying good night to you all, hear it is:

    Folding the Sheets

    You and I will fold the sheets

    Advancing towards each other

    From Burma, from Lapland.

    From India where the sheets have been washed in the river

    And pounded upon stones:

    Together we will match the corners.

    From China where women on either side of the river

    Have washed their pale cloth in the White Stone Shallows

    'Under the shining moon'.

    We meet as though in the formal steps of a dance

    To fold the sheets together, put them to air

    In wind, in sun over bushes, or by the fire.

    We stretch and pull from one side and then the other --

    Your turn.  Now mine.

    We fold them and put them away until they are needed.

    A wish for all people when they lie down to sleep --

    Smooth linen, cool cotton, the fragrance and stir of herbs

    Too cute imagine watching it come out of its shell....you're so lucky to have such natural beauty all around you...and now to bed..it's night here, and on my dexa tablets I slept so little last night I'm going to try to make up for it tonight..fingers crossed

    Kitty, thinking of you.

    Girls glad you enjoyed the poem, I thought it really described the solidarity of women the world over in a beautiful way, doing the simplest of simple tasks, and a task which has stayed the same for thousands of years.  And the wonderful feeling of climbing into freshly laundered sheets...bliss.

    Hello C Sunflowers, yes on Dexa for 3 days when I take Taxotere (had chemo yesterday)... in fact had a terrible night and slept a total of about 3 and a half hours.  BUT my last chemo is in 3 weeks time and I JUST CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!

    I'm home now and resting.  A went well.  Doc told hubby margins were clean and sentinal node was clean also!  Only had to make one insicion (about 3in.) to get both the tumor and the node.  The best part is no drains!  Resting the rest of the weekend now.  The heat outside has finally broke but it's raining so will have to wait for a breeze of fresh air.  final path report should be ready be Wednesday.  I'll let you know.  Kitty

    Maria--There is nothing better than fresh-laundered sheets straight from the clothes line.  Thanks for the poem.

    Maria,

    I really think the steroids were the worst part for me.  Didn't mind being bald, head felt, well, interesting.  But being frenetic for 3 days, eating anything not nailed down, not sleeping- and then CRASHING big time the nest few days - whew...

    You will feel SO SO SO SO SO much better soon.  Loved the poem too...I too  love hanging laundry, and fresh cotton sheets - especially with the HEAT HEAT HEAT we're having in the North East =bliss.  One of the things I most love about getting older, is how the simplest things give me such pleasure...

    Pain pills, sleep and ice, all wonderful for the body so far.  Not able to move the arm much but can type so here's more update on the surgery day.  Day went good until I had the radioactive dye injected and the wire guide inserted.  Even with lidicane in was the most difficult. Thank goodness I had all your good wishes in my pocket for courage.  Pulled them out and got through it.  I think child birth was easier!  Then once I hopped up on the surgery table it was off to la, la land.  Woke up in recovery but had a hard time opening my eyes.  Stayed there for over an hour (so I was told) and then to my room where hubby was waiting.  He had talked with the doc and said the doc was all smiles and he then told me the good news.  I then promtly fell asleep again.  They got me up again after about another hour to take a walk.  Had to have help at the potty with two caring nurses.  Made it home then and slept all night (drugs!)  Slept most of the day except for a bite of food or two.  Hungry now so hubby made a real meal.  Another pain pill and back to bed.  Will update tomorrow.  Thank you ALL,  Kitty
