Bren - like your rant too!

    Athena - I agree with you 1000000%

I just can't believe that a person would be so irresponsible to post that DCIS is not cancer.  On the other hand I am not surprised at stupidity anymore.

Addressing the DCIS thread which was heavily deleted before I read it - I wish rather than just delete posts that the moderators would take a position, even if that position is just a link to DCIS information.  I'm afraid that their silence gives a bad impression.

I agree River Rat .. rather than going on a deleting binge, why not post a link to the truth.  BCO clearly defines DCIS as cancer .. why not post that in those offending notes, instead of deleting them.

Well, yes, Rainbow Pony, I'm glad you are now calling it your "opinion", rather than "fact".

Rosemary - when are we going to your MUGA scan? Hope it's nice and cool in your bag, because this is how it feels to be outside in my neck of the woods:

Always glad for my ignore button, but thinking thoughts of what I do when members of my equine family misbehave.  Looking for my twitch and a bottle of Ace.

Heat ratio supposed to be back up around 110, am beginning to think they need to keep the children in school in July as it is just too unbearable to consider going outside to play.  Took my grandson to do some putting practice and it was too hot by 9am. When the weather is tolerable in early May and early September, they are back in school and we can't take advantage of it. I am becoming an old, grumpy, hot, smelly grandma. :(

Glad you got some rain, Cindy!  We are still well ahead for the year, and I am grateful to not have drought conditions, but is it too much to hope for overnight temps below 80?  grump, grump, grump.

Can we start Happy Hour early?

    Rosemary, thinking of you.  (((HUGS))))

It is 45C with humidity her!  (113F)  OMG.  I need to keep my kitties inside today.

99, heat index of 115 here.  I would so like a cooling rain.  I don't even want to go outside to jump in the pool.  The pool water is about 90 - looks like I need blocks of ice to float in the pool.  Geez...whine....yeah lets open the bar early.

So, I've been outside twice today and it's like entering an oven!  It's quite breezy but the wind is HOT, so there's no relief.  I'm hoping that all the outside workers (road construction, roofers, vineyard workers etc.) are having the day off.  And also hoping that those without A/C are finding some respite somewhere.  The malls will be busy, busy!

wow - a "fact" becomes and "opinion" and folks posting on thie thread are told what to say - our favorite "Duck" gonna have da vaporsSealed  Thanks again for your "monitoring" Athena, which is what the Mods call it.

You all were so quiet in the bag. I hope nobdy got spilled on.

The MUGA scan was great once she put the first shot in a second vein. It wouldn't go in the first one and that kind of stung. The test itself was boring. Too bad you had to stay in the bag. They got their glamour shots of my heart and I get the results next Thursday.

Now to drink a gallon or two of water and iced tea and get back to work.

First though there is more than one thread where evidence based medicine is put down. And thenewme is gone because of it.

Lindasa, my DH is working out in this in an environment that is even hotter because of industrial considerations.  I have gone nuts trying to get him to at least quit early today....banging my head against a brick wall.

Rosemary, I'm glad to hear that things went well.  And yes there seem to be problems in several threads/forums and it's a shame it's chasing people away.

Rosemary - gld it's over - hope the pictures were good.  I had my muga about 4 years ago, and I was slid ( slided?) on a table, with a tv screen showing my thumper thumping above my head - maybe they've changed the stuff?

Anyhow - glad you're done.  Happy Iced Tea.

(((Rosemary))), we had a very nice time in your bag. Otter had fish which I promptly gobbled up, and she bought puddles of water in her wake so we all stayed hydrated. Pity we didn't get the heart view....oh well. Good luck with the results.

Thenewme is gone???? She was treated shabbily after starting a great thread. It seems that it's no longer about what information you post but about who psts it.

And again I say, BCO seems to be quieter. Not as much movement.

Thenewme has a new thread. The title is something like An Open Letter to BCO Mods/Owners

I hope things get under control soon

ETA: The hospital got a new camera. With the old one you could see the moniter during at least part of the test. It was interesting to see my heart pumping away. This time I could not see anything but camera and walls.

Sorry to rub it in but the heat index on the beach today is 92 with a high predicted of 90.

I agree, Athena, many people seem to have been bullied away by 'opinion' posters.

OH< Rosemary - I'm sorry you didn't get to see the thumping on tv - but I'm sure it was good.

Thanks for heads up to thenewme thread - made me cry!  SHE IS SO BRAVE!

Oh no - please don't suggest school in July! The schools here are not air conditioned, just heated. The students and teachers would melt, melt away. Right now here in my part of southern Ontario the humidex is a record breaking 115F or 46C. It feels like standing near the oven outside - with a bit of a wind.  OK for a few minutes but not for long.

I had no idea it got that hot in Ontario?  That's hotter than western MA....an oven with wind, sounds like what Washington DC used to feel like to me.

I had no idea this weather situation went as far as Ontario. They are telling us to raise our thermostats for fear of outages. It seems the animals are having a hard time as well. It's not good.

Had to bring the silly dogs in the house~

They were laying outside but did not want to come in.

Feels like you can't catch a breath here in VA.

WOW  just WOW.  The Moderators "answer" to that incredibly heartfelt, articulate, wonderful letter from thenewme is to "limit the number of pictures" which can be posted in a day.  WOW.  Just WOW.

The wonderful thing about Ontario is that whatever weather you like will be here at some time of the year! We go from this extreme now (admittedly hotter than usual) to lots of snow and cold temperatures in the winter. This causes glorious spring weather and gorgeous fall colours. In between there are mud and grey seasons.

I should have said that going outside is like stepping into a hot convection oven!  Forecasters are predicting winds up to 60km/hr - hot winds!

I just upped my thermostat to 25.5C and keeping fingers crossed that we won't have any brown-outs.  Then again, it helps to be in such close proximity to the hydro generating station in Niagara Falls!

ETA:  I made up some hummingbird feeder sweet water today and was waiting for it to cool before refilling and hanging the feeder.  Then I thought "Why?"Undecided

The mods essentially did not hear - or they did not adcequatly communicate that they heard. I think the time has come to merely report any posts that break the rules and allow the existing banning system to step in. It appears that a moderator deletion does not carry any penalty. It appears that it's still up to us participants. That isn't right or fair, but it's how things currently are, and the only recourse we have. Not good.
