how about drinking?

Gail, I'm sure your girls are nothing less than perfect little ladies (just like their mom) and I can only imagine the picture you describe, with grandpa and grand daughter walking across the grass.......PRECIOUS! I too want to spend time around friends and family that are kind to me and who I like, which is why I'm here!
NM, you look funny with no butt! Hope you can find it as the week wears on! Glad your check up went well, and sorry for the panic attack, but like you said, at least you waited until you got home. Hey, I'm in for some lasagna!

Stanzie, that is too bad that your kids are afraid of your one sister. But they see her for who she is and it's her loss, not theirs. Good idea to bring the sword, helmet, coins and all, but you have to share.
Kitty, let us know how it all goes, I'm sure you will be fine. Just more sh!t you have to endure.
Junie, DorK and Heather..........you are all in my thoughts and prayers today.

LOL Lori....a foil weiner dog...hilarious!!! (Could maybe be a hood ornament on our bus???)
-
Just a little laugh.....

I was in the restaurant yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately
needed to pass gas. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my
gas with the beat of the music.
After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my coffee,
and noticed that everybody was staring at me....
Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.
...and how was your day? -
Oh Kathy! That is so something my son would actually do! LOL, (not really)
Oh Heather, surgery too? Well you will be fine. You are so young, better to make the chance of it coming back really not possible! Hope your recovery is quick!
So my friend who is a lawyer has talked to the crazy lady and well apparently him being a lawyer really sent her off the deep end. Makes me wonder.... anyway she has sent me more odd emails now she thinks I'm her "friend". I guess I'm now in a better position, she is scared of my lawyer and she is trying to cosy up to me but this woman is truely nuts. Finally she has sent some information which if she did that in the first place or gave you some idea as to what will happen it would certainly make everyone's life easier. She is not professional and quite scatterbrained but I don't think at least she is bad/evil just really a mess. So we will see. Originally I was told it would be about 7 -10 people, then not more than 12. The other company who is professional said it would be 17-25. Got an email last night well, up to 18-19. Makes me wonder how often she has done this. I think she also needs constant assurance that everyone likes her.... Oh My won't next Thursday be stressful.
Prayers.Hugs and strong good healing thoughts for DorK, Junie and Heather!
-
So much surgery! We'll just stay itty bitty and hang out in the OR sending healing vibrations to our sisters and lots of love to the doctors who take such good care of us. Don't forget to drink lots of water before and after! I'll be thinking of you, Junie, and DorK and Heather.
Thanks for your support and kind words, ladies. Thankfully "visiting relatives" season is almost over! I guess every family has its dysfunctional members but there are also many wonderful, caring relatives. We try not to spend too much time with them so they can remain so! DD has gotten so many cards and gifts from her great-aunts for graduation, and they all sent flowers and cards while I was recovering from surgery. Mostly my ILs aren't that bad... you just can never say "no" to anything or expect to do what you want to do. I'm sure they mean well, it's just that I'm not confrontational enough to manage such assertive people. My sister on the other hand... I just can't go there.
Lori - your post was positively NM-esque! I especially love the foil WD.
Kathy - haha! Don't try that on the bus pleez!
I worked in a client's office for 12 hours yesterday and hardly got out of my chair... Monday was kethup day but I got almost all the fires put out and managed to fit in a trip to the dentist to get a crack filled (in my tooth) and a yoga class with DD. This was the most bizarre experience... the yoga... more on that later but for now I must go see my not-so-zen gyno who will want to do terrible things to me but it's all in my best interest I'm sure....
-
Damn (sorry) it is soooo hot outside! Was working on supporting a beam on the deck as I was getting ready to attach some slats, which I had them cut to the precise measurement at the hardware store last week. Well, the laughs on me....I had given them the WRONG size....10" too short, treated 1x4's! SO, realized all the pcs are just a couple of inches longer than what I need to replace all the wood on a porch swing.....so been taking off the old wood, and rusty bolts/nuts. This had been a porch swing that had metal supports and cushions on it, but I had replaced all that with wood a few yrs ago. So, it is SO hot...I just came in for ANOTHER shower and change of clothes!!! Heat index is 105, actual temps around 97 or so.
Gail, Good luck with the gyno (so not fun!), and can't wait to hear about the yoga class! Oh no, I would NEVER do that on the bus...besides I don't have an iPod...lol.
Stanzie, Thank God your lawyer-friend called the nutty lady, and it is getting a little less scary! Sure hoping it all works out, and can lead to other, BETTER opportunities! With sane people!!!
Thinking of Junie, DorK, and Heather.....sending healing thoughts and prayers to you all. At least the hospitals SHOULD be nice and cool, and you are not in this heat wave. The bus is nice and cool too.....and of course the Tattie Tenders have been keeping us full of likker.....while we think of you all, of course!
Bestest of the Best to my Breast Friends,
Kathy
P.S. That was such a nice thing you said, Lori, about being here cause you like to surround yourself with nice people....I agree....love the gals here!!!
-
Hope all went well Junie and we didnt drop anything during your surgery

Good luck Dorothy thinking of you
Kitty kat hope everything goes smoothly for you
Thnking of you all
Hugs Kymn

Sending out hugs and good thoughts to Junie.....DorK and KittyKat for quick and easy recoveries with their surgeries......
The other day one of the young glass here was talking about one of her gfs and how they went bra shopping together and the gf told her that they were now "breast friends"!!!! I couldn't tell her that I've only heard the phrase in reference to all of us!!!! and its funny cuz some of us don't have breasts, yet we are "breast friends"!!!! But, what the heck....
I can't believe I'm winding up my stay. Tomorrow we have a trip to the Golan (northern Israel) and will be there through Shabbat, coming back to Jerusalem late Saturday night. Then Sunday is the last day. I have really enjoyed being here.....talking to my husband today, he said that he wouldn't want me gone 5 weeks again, but if we could afford it, he wouldn't mind me doing this again for 3 weeks....told him as long as I didn't go visiting relatives first I wouldn't be gone as long....Using points for my plane ticket and not paying for housing saved me a LOT of money....if I had to pay full price for the ticket and housing, not sure if I could have swung it....so now its time to save up for another time....and maybe DH would come with me for part of the time....heck that way I could spend even more time in Israel!!!! I'm going to say 5 years!!!!! and of course if it happens sooner all the better....but I still have a few more days to enjoy this opportunity...lookikng forward to going to the Golan.....Friday morning is a hike or a trip to a robotics farm....can you guess what I'll choose!!!! Tomorrow is a Jeep tour, then swimming and after dinner another event.....We had to sign up for sleeping arrangements......the "building" I'm in has 2 rooms...one with 3 beds and one with 2 beds.....the two women I have become friends with and I are staying in the 3 bed room and two of the young girls, one I've also become friends with are in the other room!!! Not my favorite thing to be in such closed quarters, but I guess it will be like a big pajama party.....Got to pack my carry on for the 3 days......Won't have my computer with me, so won't be able to post till late Saturday night...or check to see how everyone is doing.....Clinking my virtual glass of wine in honor of everyone...Hugs, Karen

Gail, I got to see gyno today too. Have had a fibroid that I was hoping chemo would have shrunk-no such luck. However, chemo-pause has made it a non- issue which is fine by me! Bladder issues laso likely a chemo remnant, so hopefully that will improve. He said LOTS of water helps as well as reducing caffeine, citrus, and ALCOHOL! SAD. But will try to be cautious of intake and up the other fluids.
No dog yet, but have a breeder close by that I will visit soon. Has 3 puppies that will be ready August 1. our foreign exchange student from Germany who lived with us a year ago is coming tomorrow for two weeks. It will be fun to have her but feel bad I am not very available with rads every day. Hopefully old friends will step up and invite her over! -
Aye aye aye...I feel so totally ripped off cuz I am behind on what you galz are doing. I had a client call this am and have been working my tush off all day and have info to prepare for an 8 am meeting...kitty good luck on the hyster...junebug hope you are okay...goldbug love the foil...chrissy it's all cheepwine and dog beers here, come on by...DorK wishing the best for you dollink...wahine, husker, NM, karen, stanzie, claire, kymn, stormy...miss you all and can't wait to get my prunes going again so I can be regular...in the meantime, who's got the damn dog beers? Open some bottles quik like!!! Cheers!!

Beans......
Know what you mean. Looks like I have some biz coming my way too. My learning today was not to discuss topics such as sample frames at 6:45 AM. Brain is not in gear at that hour for anything other than very simple. Anyway, I apologized, and the guys on the other end (a few hours later when my brain was in gear) had a good laugh.
Figured out the game plan, and that was what was needed.
Beans......a lesson in fiber. I had bulgher wheat tonight. Plus sauteed zucchini, plus broccoli, plus Rainier cherries, plus two plums earlier today.
If things are still not moving right along, you might want to try stewed prunes in brandy with a bit of heavy cream. These are delish.
Good luck with your client call.
Hoping everyone facing surgery is just fine. Promise to be on the bus and beat anyone doing any questionable procedures to a pulp. (I can do it, trust me.)
Beans....the trick about cheap wine is paying as little as possible, but for stuff that makes the grade. The $4 a bottle stuff I had with tonight's salmon dinner made the grade.
Husker....think things are looking up for you. Great news. Rads are relatively easy after chemo. Yes, I got a bit tired towards the end, but nothing I couldn't deal with. No major burns either.
Anyway, I need to get to bed early as had a major worry about a friend of mine. Fortunately, only an infection, and nothing serious. But my mind was going to dark places.
Now, need to catch the remainder of the sunset. I can tell summer is already waning. But two more glorious months. I'll drink to that. - Claire
-
Kristy - Well I guess tequila and lime is definitely out. What kind of puppy?
I was afraid gyno would want another biopsy but no this time she has a new horror - colonoscopy (happy birthday to me!) Oh but it's a great procedure cuz if they find any POLYPS they can just remove them. Ahhhhh!

Ok, the yoga story... DD and I got a groupon deal so we signed up for 2 weeks of unlimited at a new local studio. Neither of us has done yoga in a while so we wanted to start with an easy class for beginners, plus we had to coordinate our schedules so we agreed on a class at noon on Monday to start even though the instructor looked way hippy. He was this happy little sprite... greeted DD like she was a long lost friend (did I mention she is a cute, blonde 18 YO?) was surprised when he gave me the same greeting. We were asked to place our mats facing the alter (crystals) in the center of the room and he tried to burn some balsa wood, turned the heater up to 90 and started this crazy music on his MacBook. Throughout the 1 hour class he told us all about our chakras and types of cosmic energy and babbled about community and "experience" and mother earth, etc. He was the noisiest yoga person I have ever witnessed. He kept saying, "hmmm, I guess we could do this..." like he didn't really have a plan, and then would tell us what the movement or pose was called. I expected someone to open the door and say, "Ryan! (whispered: Sorry he thinks he's a yoga master)... Back to your room now, Ryan." But no... after the official class there was a "meditation" during which he had us hold hands in a circle and run around the crystals. It was all kind of crazy but fun until I got to the point where I thought I would hurl from the heat. At the end we put our faces on the floor to thank mother earth and verbally thanked the sun and then hugged ourselves to thank our bodies and I thought, "thank you, body, for not hurling in yoga class" and then I rushed home to shower because my hair was soaking wet, and rushed off to the dentist.
Karen - hope you enjoy your last few days! It sounds like you are having a wonderful experience.
-
Pretty quiet here at The HTL, but guess it's cuz we are all out on the bus?Gail, that does not sound like yoga at all. And more like the nut ball that escaped. Why in the world would you need the temps hiked to 90? Ahhhh........the dreaded colonoscopy! Otherwise known as the heiny scope. Really not a bad procedure at all, IT'S THE PREP. I need to make gyno appt too, always put that one off.Kristy, hope you are able to spend at least some time with your guest. How nice of her to come for a visit.Kathy, sawry 'bout the wood mix up, but at least you had a use for it. I know you and mom are just having so much fun together.Karen, enjoy your last few days! Such an amazing experience.Beans, I'll share some of my dog beers wif ya.

HEAT WAVE - INGREDIENTS
.5 oz. grenadine
.5 oz. peach schnapps
3 oz. pineapple juice
3 oz. orange juice
1.25 oz. coconut rumIn a shaker half-filled with ice, combine ingredients and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with mint leaves. Cheers, mates!
-
Oh Lori, that dwink is poifect!!! HEAT WAVE is what so many of us are experiencing, and nice to put a good spin on it. TANKS!!! I will start with one, or two, or.... Well yeah I did save the wood, but OMG it was sooooo darn hot that I thought I would pass out several times, and so couldn't think right at all. Ended up cutting one waaay too short, so now I need more for the swing. Then I didn't space them right....normally I am so exacting on this sort of thing, but after drilling, then bolting them on, plus screwing in several places to the supports, I was NOT going to do them over! I realized I should not have tried to do so much in that heat...worked on it till 6:30 pm so I could actually hang it...will have to get 1 more board, then cut the front edge as I had it hang over too much. AARRGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! My mistakes. Love, love, love the animal pics, in poses...so cute! Ok, now for that dwink.......
Gail, I would not have survived a yoga class with the heat on! And what a nut case----really lolo. And I agree with Lori, the colonoscopy is not bad, it is the prep. BUT now they have a small bottle of stuff you can drink, instead of that gallon or so of stuff. So it is not as bad as before, and the sleep I get when they are doing the procedure is usually sooooooo restful. Please do have it done, as they can take out any pre-cancerous polyps, which is a big plus.
Kristy, Yeah, what type of furbaby are you thinking of getting? What fun! Sorry about all the other probs though.
Beans, WooHoo....hope your appt goes well today.....wondered where you were, but you were preparing for your client! I see that Lori is sharing her dog beers, so you are all set. Good luck today!!!
Hoping we don't have an afternoon thunderstorm today, as there is an art stroll around the courthouse square late afternoon/evening, and thought I would take my mom to that, then we can go out to eat. DH has racquetball. OH, and talking about bad contractors/workers....there was water damage to our cathedral ceiling and a closet at our condo, so over TWO months ago we got the mgt co involved, who had a handyman they sent over. Well, he fixed the closet, but did such a horrid patch on the high ceiling, that it looked awful. We kept calling him, finally he called back and said he should have sprayed the whole ceiling and would come back and do it right. He never showed up, so several calls later, DH finally called the mgt co, and he came over yesterday! BUT although earlier he said he still had our key, now he comes clean and says he doesn't have a key, which is why (he says) he didn't do it sooner!?? Aarrgghhhh....we had given him a key before.so DH gave him the whole set of keys so he can get back in today. Meanwhile, we can't even list it for rent yet, so a lot of loss there. We have just a few things left to do (plus my grout), but can't finish it as he leaves such a mess when he does work.....left white crap in the tubs, white stuff in all the joints in the wood floor, and lots of big white hard clumps in the DISPOSAL....so we will have to clean up after him B4 finishing up!!! Hate to have had it empty for so long, but that is what happens when you have to depend on someone else to do something. If I had a tall enough ladder, I wouldn't have minded doing it myself!!!
Okay, Pants just brought me TWO "Heat Wave" dwinks....what a dear. I'll start with those, and then.......
Bottomz Up Girlz!!!!

Stanzie--I'm sorry none of your friends are available to help you next week. Maybe we can load up the bus and come visit? I'm not sure that an e-mail agreement has the same weight as a contract, but that would be a good question for the lawyer. I know you're embarrassed, but please make the call! Tell you what, you call the lawyer and I'll call the new therapist and make an appointment today, too. I've been putting this off for 2 weeks, got to get it going. If I can make my call, you can make yours, OK?

Karen--Wow, your trip is really winding up! So much to do, but I'm sure you will manage. And getting home with a luggage load of dirty clothes is part of the ritual of homecoming! Good planning though! I think this will be my last visit with the PS, and since I've got a couple of minor questions and don't mind and excuse to go to Boston for a day I've got no problem with this appointment. I suspect I won't be seeing the Med Onc after the 5 years of arimidex are up this coming spring. At least that's the impression I got. That will leave me with the BS (the cancer doc I am most connected with) and my PCP. Not sure what to do with all that non-appointment time I'll have!

DorK--You will do just fine, I know it! We'll all be there by the bus just as soon as you let us know what time!

Junie--praying for you!

Goldie--I'm bringing foil to add to the supply--

Chrissy--I'm with you, raising a glass and toasting Junie and DorK!
/1950s_heres_a_toast_to_when_i_want_it/1950s_here_s_a_toast_to_when_i_want_it.gif)
Beanie--You take that side of the bus and I'll take this side, there's more foil on the table. . .

KittyKat--Happy Hysterectomy Day!

Wahine--playing ketchup is rather hard, but hang in there!

Astorm--can't wait to hear the Yoga story! I like to do yoga, probably should find a class to get into again. . .

Husker--cut out caffeine and alcohol? What is left to drink? What kind of dogs does the breeder have? Puppies are soooo cute!
Claire--had a glorious sunset yesterday, and today is living up to the promise of "red sky at night, sailor's delight." Hot, Humid, Hazy. Going to the beach in a bit, and to heck with the housework. There'll be 8 months of winter to do housework.
Astorm--what a yoga class that must have been! I've not been to many, but NONE have been ANYTHING like that!
We need a good DOTD. What would do us good today? How about an Operation Recovere?
1 oz Lemon Vodka
1 oz Peach Schnapps
2 oz Mandarin Juice
1 tsp Grenadine
Directions
Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass three-quarters filled with broken ice. Garnish with in-season fruit, and serve with a short straw.
-
Hi Goldie!
Just nipped on here to say that the Heatwave cocktail sounds delish! We need a bit of heat over here - I understand a lot of you girls are suffering though. Cheers - I'll def. try it!

NM, Hope you will call that therapist....good idea to tell Stanzie you will call the therapist if she will call her atty/friend. (At least I think that is what you wrote....it is on the prev pg and I can't go back if I want to write a post!). Enjoyed your post, and cartoons, as usual! Thanks for all the work you put into your posts!
Stanzie,If I didn't have so much going on (and with my mom here), I would drive over and stay with you during the time the film crew will be there. I think that would be exciting! But no-can-do right now. Hope it will all go smoothly!!!!
Sarah, Welcome to the HTL!!! I don't recall if you have joined us before, so wanted to give you a big welcome in case this is your first time here. Pull up a barstool and tell the Tattie Tenders (Pants, Jocks) what you want to drink! The Wenches (Skates, Candy, and I forget the other one's name) will bring you anything you want, also! Nice utopia we have here, and wonderful girlz!
Thundering now, not sure if the rain will accompany it or not. Wish we could send some heat over to you, Sarah!
ChEARS! Chairs! Broomsticks!
Kathy

Hi girls,
I just called Junie's husband, and she has been pretty much asleep for a couple of days, since the surgery. She made it through just fine, but it was more involved than they thought, so she might end up being in the hospital for a week or so. I asked him to give her our best and let her know we are all concerned, and thinking about her. I'll see if I can talk with her or her DH tomorrow or the next day, and give you all an update.
Dorothy, How are you doing? Feel like joining the living again? Sure rough after surgery, and hoping you did just fine, and are not in a lot of pain. Let us hear from you when you feel up to it. Sending you (((hugs))) and gentle healing thoughts.
Kymn, Hope you are recovering okay too, following your surgery. Anxious to hear that everything went okay, and sending (((hugs))) to you too.
OK now I am confused with all the surgeries, but Kristy were you having a procedure too, or just a dr visit? Hoping for the latter! How is the new furbaby selection going?
ChEARS to all, especially to our recovering (from surgery) loungettes!!!! Oh yeah, I loved the comment about being on here regular again, Beans, and thinking it was a pun about the prunes? Hope so, and they aren't really needed for *anything*!
Kath
-
Thanks Kathy. I am so sorry about Junie. Will pray that she is on the mend quickly.
As for the prunes discussion, this warning applies to plums which are now in season. Guess how I know?? - Claire
p.s. Wine is safer that way than raisins.
-
My surgery went well. I'm glad I had it done laproscopically. The gyn onco said that the tissue changes a bit after chemo. Mine was a little thicker than normal, which makes dissection a little more difficult. But, it's done and now I can just recover! I'm still in the hospital and should leave around 5 pm today. Yay!!! I'm already off my pain meds.
I hope Junie and DK's surgeries also went well! -
lol Kathy me thinks you have been spending too much time at the bar keeping pantz company I did not have any surgery but am going camping so close....lol
-
Oh Heather - so thrilled it is done! Interesting what Chemo does- hmmm never knew that. But so glad you are OK and you are done with the surgery - now just take it slow and hopefully an easy and quick recovery with lots and lots of pampering and love. Can't believe you are already off pain meds - Wow! congrats!
Kathy- that was so sweet of Junie's hubby to let you know. I'm sure he is having a very rough time with it all as well. Sleep is good and healing - hope she gets to come home soon and all is well. Did it interrupt her son's visit again? hope not.
DorK- are you there? How are you doing?
Kathy- If you can build and work out in the heat I'm thinking you wouldhave fared well in the odd yoga class but then you two would have started giggling and well.... I don't know but you all might have been a bit disruptive. Reminded me of this strange director I once worked with. He had the actors sit in the dark with their heads on each other's stomaches while he ran around them without his shirt squalking like a bird. I had my hand on the phone to call security if he got too close to these kid's - young 20's acting interns and this nut of a director. Oh well...
Kathy- you are sweet, too bad that wouldn't work as we would have so much fun.
OK, NM - I did it!!! called my friend and lawyer and now I have signed and emailed the contract so I'm doing it next week and will let you all know and if I can take a picture of the butch 82 year old hubby with the huge hair and skin tight clothes I'll send it on..... Ok, NM get phone in hand....
-
Kathy, thanks so much for the update and letting her DH know that we are all thinking and praying for her. "Sugar" is our other Tattie Tender. You need to go inside where it is nice and cool!
Kymn, I too am like.............WHAT? I thought Kymn was going camping and starting rads soon, don't remember a surgery! If it wasn't the Tattie Tenders confusing K, then it must have been the heat! But that was funny.
Mitch, I sure hope NM holds up her end of the bargain!
NM, our DOTD's are kind of similar................will take 2 for each hand!
Kitty, glad you checked in...........WE LOVE YOU!
Waiting to hear from/about DorK
Sarah.........a big hello to you, but pa-leeeze say hello to other galz. We are just a fun fun group here and just stay drunk all the time!
-
LOL at ME! OMG I got Heather mixed up with Kymn!!! Sorries to both of you! Yeah, can I blame it on the heat??? My intent was good, but misdirected! Glad you fared well Heather!!! And yeah Kymn, I knew you weren't having surgery....sheesh... I need a "loungette check" (instead of spell check). So Kymn, Hope you enjoy your camping in luxury! I know you will have a blast!
Yeah Stanzie we would have had a great time together! Glad you have the contract signed and are all set to go! Hope you get to take pictures.....that guy must be a sight. No, I wouldn't like yoga in that heat, I really hate the heat but will work in it when I have to. Don't enjoy changing clothes so often and having to take so many showers in one day!!!
Oh, weather was GAWGEOUS this afternoon/evening! Took my mom downtown and there was a breeze and so many amazing artists showing their work and selling too, of course. Such a variety of mediums that were used. A fellow even had a big display of Raku (Japanese style) pottery, and has classes in it every month. SInce my mom used to have a potters wheel and my g'pa had a kiln, they both used to do a lot of hand-thrown pottery. AND saw a couple of new upscale bars and restaurants that I didn't know about. So then we went to our fav Thai restaurant....a very nice evening!!!! SO I have missed happy hour, and will just need to ketchup!!!!! Pants, can I have one of Lori's dwink and one of NM's dwink, please? I like Lori's idea of having one for each hand!!! Yay!
CHeers Dears!
Kathy
-
Dorothy, We miss you and anxious to hear how you are doing!!! Hoping all went well for your surgery! (((hugs)))
-
Hi ladies,
No surgery here either, just gyno check! So my approved list of drinks includes: water, non-citrus herbal tea, KAVA coffee (which is evidently low acid instant-ICK), or cold brew from Starbucks. I will gladly increase the water but seriously, what else is there?! May have to think how badly I want to cure the leaky bladder-ha!
Heather, glad surgery went well. Hoping to hear good updates about Junie too. Kymn, have fun camping. I hope you have A/C. I would die in this heat!
Oh, and the puppy will be a Yorkie. Breeder has 3 that are 7 weeks old. I am going on Sunday to hopefully pick one out and then I can have her on August 1 or 2. A little tiny dog to go with my golden retriever, Romeo. DD2 thinks her name should be Juliet, which would be cute, but I have to see the dog first. You know, see if she fits the name. Not sure that is my first choice.
-
The more I learn about men the more I love my dogs... and cats. WD has so much love in his little body -- I always say he has more love per pound than anyone I know.
Another 12 hour workday for me and then a 2+ hour drive home. I was feeling sorry for myself and didn't want to go home so I stopped at a nice restaurant and had a $20 glass of wine. Worth every cent too.
Yesterday sucked. The doc tells me I'm going to have a colonoscopy cuz I'm turning 50 and the only up-side to being 50 is having a party but since DH squelched that all I get is the heiny probe. With the sister thing hanging over my head and the wasted vacation time and long workdays I just lost it last night. I'm really wanting to enjoy my life and DH just doesn't get that. Good thing I have you ladies around! Did someone say "a round"? Yes, please!
-
Wow Gail. I get a WHOLE BOTTLE of delish wine for $20. You need to come to Seattle.
I sent out my STP picture to one of my friends/business colleagues who just got back from Europe. Anyway, his comment was "looks like I am working out" with my huge shoulders and upper arms.
I will be happy to tell your DH the facts of life. (while flexing my arms).
As for the colonoscopy. Just get it done. Not fun, but one you need off your list. Buy yourself a bottle of good champagne for the evening afterward. To celebrate your not having to go down that path again for ten years.
Husker.....you are taking the wrong approach here. You need to work your pelvic floor, so crunches, Kegels, supplemented by that great tissue-mender.....SEX!!! You need to get the blood flowing to that area, lady.
Forget the Kava.....its action you need!!!!
I was out doing my walk in 2 sweaters and wishing I could send you some of this "refreshing" air. I suspect the Downtown shops are doing a brisk business in jackets, sweaters, and socks as I am sure everyone is arriving expecting summer temps.

OK, Stanzie--I've called 3 difference therapists trying to get an appointment. Have you called your lawyer friend?????

Wahine--had a LOT of lightning here last night, but I didn't hear any thunder. At least, I didn't hear any over the AC I had running in the bedroom. Heat index still over 100 here and will be for at least another day. Yuck. Thanks for the update on Junie, glad she's recovering.

DorK --wishing you a smooth recovery, and holding a place for you beside the pool.

KittyKat--so glad surgery went well and is over! Here's to home soon and comfortable recovery!

Kymn--camping is much better than surgery! Enjoy!

YEAH Stanzie!! Good for you! Now I've got to get back on the phone later today (nothing open at 6 am around here).

Goldie--multiple DOTDs, GREAT idea!

Husker--Yorkies are so CUTE! Romeo and Juliette, huh? I understand what you mean, most of my dogs name themselves, but the name has to fit or it doesn't stick!

Astorm--I've been dodging the heiny probe for 2 years now. Just do not want to know if anything else is going on, and do not want to have to listen to my mother's stupid "hose" jokes and hear about all HER colonoscopies. Not to mention that it involves a needle. Now the $20 glass of wine I can get behind!

Claire--2 sweaters? YIKES! Send some of that to the East Coast, please!
