No Bren - it was 48 hours but who would know anyway?  The dog??? I thought it was funny but I guess they want the stitches to stay - oh well.

Rosemary - I will be there too.

Move over, ladies. I'm jumping in the bag, too. Should I bring donuts or mimosas? Or both?

Rosemary, we are all there peeking up at you from your pocket.  I hope you have that image with you.   We are all sending you hugs.

Hey Rosemary, I'm bringing some Gatorade to keep you cool. It's nice and cozy in this bag.

Rosemary, I tend to leave small puddles and the odor of fish when I accompany BC sisters to their tests or treatments. Just ask my May '08 chemo gang, and they'll confirm this.

But, if you don't mind that sort of distraction, I'll be there, too.

Don't worry, Otter. I will eat your fish and keep my claws retracted.

So....did you hear the story about a man who walks into a bar...

...actually, it is a woman who walks into a DCIS thread and proclaims that DCIS isn't cancer, that it should not be treated aggressively and that one poster there is the opposite of intelligent and that I should go to my den. I tell her to be my guest once she is done correcting the copyright voilations on her other thread. Who is this person (Jeopardy music)? You are ALL correct!

Damm - I missed all the fun. That person is seriously off her tree and should be removed from our presence. Would love to know what Blue said :)

Now if you were talking about LCIS - I do believe it's not cancer and we've already had that argument on the LCIS thread, so I won't go into it further.

Susie -- I've never completely understood why LCIS is NOT considered cancer, and yet DCIS isUndecided.  (My first dx was LCIS, and that word Carcinoma rang out loud and clear).

When I first joined BCO, I expected that I would get advice that was sanctioned by the owners of this site, and that any poster who suggested FACTS that were opposite to universal medical opinion and well-founded research would be either deleted, or at least responded to by the owners.

It isn't happening, and I fear BCO is beginning to turn into a "I believe this, and you're full of crap" website, sort of like the political forums that abound on the web.

    it's a shame, IMHO.

I thought it was cancer too but apparently it's misnamed according to my onc. It's actually neoplasia not carcinoma. I thought some had been left after my lumpectomy, but it didn't show up on MRI even though ADH did show up.

4 am est - good ole Arimidex. Rosemary ( quack, quack, quack) hope the little tv camera on your right, shows the thumping machine thumping just the way it's supposed to!  The thing that surprised me MOST about a muga scan, is the doc told me NOT TO HUG anyone for 24 hours!  Wha??????  Could we be that radioactive.

I missed whatever happened - but ATHENA, LOL.....the "atheists" among us got a twinge too...all so stra-a-a-a-nge.

Ice cube wrist & arm rubs will be needed today

Sunflowers - you need some melatonin - works wonders for me. Arimidex really stuffed my sleep up. I take it in the morning now.

I have always thought that BCO discussion forums were never meant to be substituted for medical advice, so people should watch what they take home with them, BUT it is incredible how someone can have no understanding of the difference between a fact -which we don't have a luxury to dispute-- and an opinion--which we do.

So DCIS is cancer that is non invasive. That is a fact. Should you have it excised? The answer is, in the broadest sense, an opinion. But cancer can be depressing. When someone --even a layperson with no knowledge of the topic-- visits a thread of women who have been diagnosed with cancer and are coping with the news and proclaims that their diagnosis is essentially not worth treating, it shows, IMO, a shocking lack of empathy and an apparent willingness to throw other people's realities and feelings under the bus just to prove a point that is not science-based but apparently fulfills some personal need.

Doesn't it remind you all of those who say that there were weapons  of mass destruction in Iraq (oh, yes there were -and Saddam was behind 9/11), that climate change is a bogus theory and evolution is nonsense? Oh, and that Obama is "a A-rab." Is it our education system or just a difficulty telling the difference between the truth and fantasy?

Yikes - I missed all the activity and deleted posts - I thought my computer had refreshed and it hadn't. Hope the OP isn't too traumatized.

Holy guacamole! Folks were really busy last night. Hoping everyone stays cool today. We are headed to 92 today which is normal for late July. But our normal daily rain isn't happening. I like having the rain since it cools things down...except in Key West where it makes everything feel like a steam bath. DH and I spent our 2nd anniversary there and swore never again Key West in July. This year we are going in November for the Parrothead convention. Should be fun.

Athena -  I went to the thread, and didn't dare post, just felt so sorry for the OP.  Hard to belive a Mod was up that early in the am - but thank goodness they stepped in.  I really don't think there is anything we can do.  I keep asking Mods for "advice" - and all I'm told is use the "Ignore Button." Which I do a lot now, and still it feels as if I'm not being responsible.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting so CLEARLY on that thread.  By the time I got there, most was deleted.  But I have a vivid imagination, from experience of reading some of the threads, what you were, are, railing against.

If anybody has a suggestion, other than the Ignore Button, or being called "a bully." Let me know.

Sunflwers - my suggestion is that the mods remove these people once and for all, but I guess that's not likely to happen.

    Athena - well said!!!

I agree that a ban is the only solution at this point. I may be wrong but it seems as though activity on BCO generally has slowed. Sometimes a few minutes pass befor there is a new post anywhere. I've lost count of how many threads have been ruined, deleted or locked in the past two or three months.

O.M.G.  Athena .. that is way too  hot!  Our temps are 95 and heat index is 108. And it's not even the hottest part of the day yet.

In my opinion, DCIS is cancer.  I had DCIS, LCIS and IDC all together in my tumor.  It's all cancer and needed to be taken out.  Luckily, I did not require chemo because it was a small tumor and no nodes were affected.  I think it's wrong to tell people their cancer isn't cancer and don't do anything about it .. just leave it be.  What if someone actually took that advice.  The outcome could be death.

Okay .. that was my rant for the day.

It's 37C or 98F here in Niagara.  Not sure what the humidex is -- I think I don't want to know!  I think this is a record high temp for this area.  I'm staying indoors today!

Bren, I agree -- it's wrong (on this website, especially) to state that DCIS is not cancer.
