Is anyone else an atheist with BC besides me?

All agreed say "Aye"!
-
notself ... thank you for that video ... bwahahaha
Aye! I spend half of my life on the confused couch ... but is OK ... we have cookies!
-
Add me to WR and Maya - Otter, I don't see that you did anything objectionable at all and have no idea what you think you did.
-
Aye!

Laughed so hard I nearly choked at Ceiling Cat video. Reposted on my FB.
I'm confused, too, but that's okay. There's been so much hooey on the other forums that this one has actually been nice. One proselytizer isn't so bad compared to other stuff lately. I think many of us are bruised and hyper-sensitive about stuff lately...
Anyway, just watch that video again. You'll get your healthy dose of laughter for the week!

Nice forum.

Thanks, all, for the affirmative vote. I guess I was feeling guilty about having stuck my nose in here and emphasized the original purpose of this thread. Threads do evolve, after all.
I meant for my suggestion to apply to people who stop by here on their way to church services. After I hit "submit", I realized that the word "atheist" was a prominent part of what thedudess said... and, of course, there have been many folks among us who were agnostic, "spiritual" (?), Hindu, or whatever, but did not try to force their beliefs on anyone here.
This is such a peaceful place. I was just concerned that my single-mindedness had messed that up. I'm a hard person to chase off, as some of you know. And, yes, otters are kind of like cats. (I cannot speak cat language. I loved the video!).

Dearest, dearest fuzzy creature Otter,
I didn't even READ the post you're referring to - really!!!!! I was amazed at Moody's, ah, shall we say, interruption, and further references to God, and a silly cartoon ( until I realized my ignore button was not up to date:::) BELIEVE me, I have no problem, zippo, zilch, with my favorite Abalone eater, and even IF IF IF IF IF IF, I did - I'm pm you and probably say something like" Hey, fuzzy one, "this" is what I heard, is that what you "said/meant." PLEASE rest in the cool waters..munchie, munchie on your abalone ( save the shell if it's a pretty one, geat holder for beads!) sunflowers

The Latin word for cake is "placenta" and I gave up accuracy to avoid the yyuckk of Bovis Placenta
-
notself, too funny....and yucky. Ick!
-
Otter, basement cat sez, if you still feels guilty, say 5 hail marys
OR drink 5 bloody marys. (eddieIzzard) -
Re placenta -- Now I'm wondering how I ever got through 5 years of Latin without once reading about cake! Wikipedia has some interesting stuff about placentas, and about how certain peoples dispose of them.
-
notself, I agree bovis placenta just too much..Ha Ha .this is why this place is so great, I learn so many things every time I take a peep!!!
And otter, aye vote from an equally confused me as well..

Okay,,,,so here I am, new to this thread and loving every minute. Ceiling vs Basement cat was wonderful! Thought I was alone with my agnostic ideas since everyone around me (except hubby and kids) is on a religious bandwagon. When someone says they will pray for me I just say thanks. I think of it as they are trying to cope with the idea of BC and don't know what else to say. It's like their crutch when dumfounded. I still take hugs which is always given out too. Doesn't offend me and I respect them. Strength for me comes from within and from my family. I'm getting to know me because of this and hope to become an even better and stronger me before this fight is done. Surgery is Friday and yes I'm scared but will make it through especially with all the great thoughts on these boards.
-
Ann, thanks for having the ceiling cat video on face book. that is the first time I have seen it..too funny..
-
Sunflowers sent me an abalone. They are so weird, but really tasty! Now, I'm munching contentedly.

my kids used to go abalone hunting with the boy scouts ..they cooked them and never brought any home..,,just the shells...
-
KittyGirl20,
Best wishes for a perfect surgery and clear margins. Try to drink water and get well hydrated before. Surgery can really dry one out. Let us know if you have any questions we can answer.
-
KittyGirl welcome. Hope your surgery goes well Friday. I'll light a candle.
And a big "Aye!" although I'm already fading on the why. But I'll toss another abalone to the Otter-cat.
It's funny, this thread will lie dormant for days and then everyone pops in at once--including people I didn't know before.
-
Kitty Girl, I echo notself in hoping all goes well with surgery etc.
-
Welcome Kitty!
Hoping all goes well with your surgery Friday.
hugs,
Bren

Good luck with your surgery, Kitty, and welcome.

Kitty,
We'll be waiting to hear GOOD NEWS after your surgery. Take it very, very easy for the first few days, but you already know that. My docs had me taking some Arnica b4, and after the surgery. I have a great interest in homeopathic medicine - and was interested to see "main line" docs suggesting it. Really hope all goes well. Agree with notself - LOTSA water. Also, well, I was very fond of the Percocet I got for the first few days after.
Expect you'll have drains - (yuck!) but they really do help get all the fluid out. And aren't as bad as they sound. GOOD LUCK.
-
Kitty -- Sending you cyberhugs and many good wishes for a successful surgery!

can we get back to placentas for a minute. I found this on Huffington Post and thought I would share it here.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/20/placenta-pill-maker-nutritional-supplement_n_886420.html
a woman in Brooklyn will prepare your placenta so you can consume it in pill form. Wasn't there a skit on SaturdayNightLive about this many years ago? Anyway - these "news" commentators make it into a joke when actually it isn't. Obviously for some new mothers there are spiritual and psychological if not physical benefits to doing this. However, probably not for me since I used to get a wee queezy even driving behind the Toyota SUV model called the Previa since Placenta previa was a condition my sister in law suffered when she was in labor with my nephew.........

I got a call from the doc that he wanted me to have a CT scan today. There seems to be a suspicious "shadow". With tears of shock I went and I just got back to all the great support. Thanks to everyone! Got the water and will chug it down over the next 30 hours.
-
Kitty .. when do you get your scan results? Soon, I hope .. the waiting is so hard.
Thinking of you,
Bren
-
Hope for today, tomorrow for sure. Could be a sleepless night.
Kitty
-
Kitty .. we'll keep you in our thoughts. Let us know as soon as you hear something.
Bren
-
Kitty ... try not to jump to any conclusions. They send us for scans of all kinds while we are being diagnosed. Mine sent me for a CT scan and a PET scan and I was convinced that meant the worst ... but not so ... she wanted everybody to have them and my insurance would pay so off I went.
Hope you get your results quickly ... hang in there (((hugs)))
We do get quiet here sometimes don't we? And then somebody posts and we all say "Hey ... somebody is home let's go visit"
