My mother was diagnosed in December at age 51 with stage IV trip. neg. bc with mets. to bone, brain, lung, and mostly liver. Oncologist said if she hadnt received treatment, liver failure within a week.  She was started on Abraxane immediately and did very well almost no side effects, all of the tumors shrank and were responding well. She was given a ct scan in May and increased tumors in brain were found.  Chemo was stopped and radiation started may 8, no chemo again until june 4, they started doubling the dosage. She was admitted last friday July 8th for an infection, they did another ct and found that the cancer is no longer responding to the chemo. The cancer had returned to liver worse then before and she was started on Gemzar.  Has anyone else had this kind of response to the chemo and if so whats meds or treatments were you given? Any information would help or family alot. Thanks again,               Brandon

Hi Brandon, I'm so sorry your mother is struggling. I'm not triple negative myself, but I'll bump this post to see if anyone else has some thoughts. I know there are lots if possible chemos out there. I hope Gemzar does the trick for your mom.

Brandon: You might want to try posting on the Stage IV board, as there are lots of ladies on different chemo regimens for mets and may be able to offer some guidance. All the best to you and your mom. It's such a hard thing to help someone with this disease, you must be a great support to her.
