I don't know where to post this
I really have no idea where to post this, so I'll start here. During my treatment I bonded with a other patient of my doctor. We did many treatments together and even sat with one another when one was getting it and the other wasn't. Her cancer was completely different, but we are both young and shared so much. Well, she passed away Friday and I'm totally beside myself. I'm so sad for the loss of my friend, so angry at this awful cancer BS, and just feel general heartbreak. Have any of you lost someone on this journey already? How do you cope?

DivaJ, I am so sorry about the loss of your friend.
I have no suggestions about how to cope since that's so much a part of how we live our life in all aspects, how we deal with life and death issues, if we are religious or spiritual, etc, and I don't know you.
Many of us on these boards have lost friends to this disease, both online friends and face-to-face friends. The pain is enormous and the fear increases each time.
May G-d send you comfort.

Thank you Leah for your kind post. I feel like such a baby in so many respects. I've not lost alot of people yet who are close to me, and this one just hurts so much for so many reasons. And while I am trying to have faith in it all, it is so very difficult, it seems so unfair.

DivaJ I'm sorry your friend passed away.
You are not being a baby, you found a friend you could connect with while you were going through treatment and that is a wonderful thing. It's no wonder you feel sad and angry now.
I too have lost friends to breast cancer and it never seems to get any easier. While I was going through chemo I joined a thread on bco for those starting chemo the same month as me. We all helped one another to get through it and we became close. Well earlier this year the lovely woman who started the thread passed away. Her cancer was different to mine, but still there seemed no rhyme or reason to it, why her and not me? It hit me pretty hard.
I don't really have any advice on how to cope. I think that is such an individual thing, and as Leah said it depends on your religious and spiritual beliefs. For me, I seem to feel that I owe it to those who have passed on to make the most of my own time here. The pain for those I have lost doesn't really get less, but I seem to accept it more after a while and then I can carry on with my life again. I hope the same will happen for you.
