Ouch...bone mets??
So the past two days I have been having pain in my ribcage under my right breast and goes around to my back. I can easily move my arm without any pain but if I sneeze or try to turn over in bed the pain is horrific. If I push on my rib it hurts but not too badly. Of course I the first place my mind goes is bone mets to my ribs. Help me out ladies...Thanks, Angi

Ang....... what were you doing that pulled your lower pectoral???? Fortunately, when I did this to myself skiing in deep powder, I pulled the pecs on both sides, so I figured out what did the deed. Someone else on the boards did something similar while on a ladder and reaching for something. She had the same fear, but was just fine.
In my case, it was hard enough work getting around the Mt Catherine Loop at Snoqualmie that day that I wasn't surprised that something hurt.
Get this checked out, but my guess is that you pulled your lower pectoral. It's located at the top of your ribcage, and it will feel like a sore muscle if you poke it.
My learning is that it gets zapped by radiation, and is more easily injured because of this. Took mine about three months to heal. During which I got a sinus infection where I was coughing, and every time I coughed or sneezed, I saw stars. I am mostly healed now, but did pull it the wrong way the other day.
Good luck, and a pulled muscle is minor, but very scary if in that general area. Feel better. I found Aspercreme in the area helped a lot. - Claire

I have been having a lot of rib pain (I have never had rib pain in my life!) and I had a bone scan to check it out--came back clear. I was sure my rib was broken but it wasn't. I have heard that rads can make the entire area more susceptible to injury/breaks.
hugs,
Jenny

Angi-is it on your radiated side? I'm 15 months out from the end of rads, and my radiated side is still easily irritated if I move or pull the wrong way. I've been told that this may last for quite some time.

mamaof3bugs, many people go by the "2 week rule" - if it still hurts after 2 weeks call the doc.
Best of luck.

You ladies are the BEST!! I think that I must have pulled something because it is starting to feel a little better and it definetly feels better when I take advil. The pain is not on my rad side, that is what is kinda scaring me. Of course I have been poking and proding every node on my right side (non BC side) so now they are all sore...can't win for losing
I will be going to my onc on the 27th for TM blood work and my bi yearly mammo so I will talk with Dr.E then. Thank you so very much for putting my mind at ease, it seems that no matter what the pain is or where it is located my first thought is always 'it's back' lots of love, Angi
