    Thanks, C-S.  He is a sweetheart, if a little overprotective with the bubblewrap.  Of course, since I fell off a curb last summer when I wasn't paying attention and broke my arm, maybe he has a point ... And he needs something to do during this, so that is his job.  Be overprotective!

    I'm serious about vacuuming .. I had major abdominal surgery a few years ago (8 cm tumor) .. and there is no way you can vacuum for at least 6 weeks.  Knowing your DH, I'm sure he will do a very good job vacuuming!  So what is my excuse for not vacuuming here ... arghhh .. I hate it!

    Oh yep, Bren -- he knows that the vacuuming will be all his for at least 3 months.  He is a neat freak, so I expect all kinds of things will get sucked up in the vacuum.  I'm sure he'll do a better job than I -- I also HATE vacuuming!

    Happy return - hope you missed carmaggedon.  SusieQ's thread is still going strong.  My intention with the other one was just to have a place for especially new people to see what others were doing or had done as a way to help them during the tough early parts after active treament ends.  I felt responsible for what was posted, and didn't want to have to use an ignore button.

    So SusieQ's thread is alive & we hope, thriving ;)

    CS - I think whoever invented stockings also invented a/c for buildings. In other words, the invention wasn't properly completed. 

    HL - Your husband is wonderful. He will probably measure out the fluid for you too.  

    ETA: Men who use vacuum cleaners???? I will need a picture before I can believe that.

    Late to the game as usual, but gracie1-I also noticed that the woman featured in the story on Dateline and the woman in the Cancer Care of America were one and the same. I googled her name, and a video of her on the 700 Club talking about her experience comes up. She is not an actress-at least not in the commercial. I guess this shows that it is entirely possible for one person to have 2 really crappy things happen to her in her life.

    One of my friends from a long time ago who was Stage III just got moved to a Stage IV diagnosis.  My heart is breaking.  I know she will get lots of support on the Stage IV thread.  We've lost so many from the old Wagon Circle thread and so many have moved to Stage IV.  And all in the last four years.

    It works on you .. you know.

    I know this was several pages back, but I just wanted to say to Patmom that when I was on unemployment, I had to pay taxes on it. Either out of my check or when income tax time rolled around.

    Left over Pad Thai for me tonight then an evening of HGTV without the usual wrestling for the remote. DH is working. They don't start until 10 so that is NOT happening for me. Getting to bed at 4AM just doesn't work for me anymore.

    Oh, Bren, that's so paiinful, and yes, it does just wear us down.  I still miss RobinWendy, and of course KK, and just so many other women, with Spirit, and joy, and such LOVE they shared, even in their own pain, they could reach out to others, AND, let other people reach out to love them.

    It tears me up - no pun, seriously, as if something is  torn out every time another woman is gone... still, I hope your friend does well - so many women DO live for years, and YEARS - prayers.

    I understand Bren I have a very dear friend who is stage IV for another kind of cancer. It hurts so much. I might add she is my best friend and has been since first grade.

    If someone on unemployment has to pay taxes, it is usually less than they would have paid when working since their unemployment compensation is significantly less than their salary, so they wind up in a lower bracket.

    The bottom line is if the government wants to increase their income, the best, fastest way to do that is to get people working and paying their taxes.

    Wasn't it a Democrat who's campaign battle cry was "It's the economy, st*p*d"?

    CS - the other thread almost turned bad there for a bit - I'm sitting on my hands with regards to the attack on you there.

    Well, the rain's gone - drat. I was really hoping for more of a soaking, still the garden has had it's drink and will be happy for a bit longer. Don't know what will happen when we are away for 6 weeks. Our daughter is coming to stay for a couple of weeks, but then I can only hope it rains after that. Lucky it's winter.

    Just saw a small column in our Murdoch paper :) saying that Casey Anthony is going to appeal her conviction of lying to the police.

    Time for bacon and eggs and my current affiars shows :)

    I think Casey Anthony should go far, far away and hide her face from public view for a very long time. If she is truly appealing her conviction for lying-and I'm not sure I believe anything from the Murdoch camp-she is even more of an idiot that I thought she was.

    It said her lawyers had filed notice yesterday. It also said she was to be released tonight. Pity they can't appeal her not guilty verdict.

    SusieQ - never waste a second of your precious time trying to "defend" me ;)  really - one of my favorite quotes, is the one from Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make ou feel inferiour without your consent."  I am much happier now, don't feel an OUNCE of responsibility, cuz I know anything I say to a "chemo basher" will be seen as "bullying."  As long as My screen name, which many of my friends in the "outer world" know - is not on it, I don't care.  Really.  Chemotherpay, is just too VITAL a weapon in the arsenal we currently have, to even suggest a woman who is told she needs it, to not have the option of taking it without all that fear.  There's enough fear as it is....cs

    So, on a non-BC related topic. I had cochlear implant surgery on Monday. A pain to think about other than my breast implants and the threat of cancer cells. But I really have a question, I think for Blue. You mentioned something about not being able to have laser anything due to an implant. I'm not sure what kind of implant you have or what kind of laser surgery you would have, but it made me start wondering. I have a groupon for laser hair removal I haven't used yet (I love laser hair removal!) and one for a microdermabrasion. I tried to google whether I can still use those procedures now with an implant device in my head. I know I can't do MRIs or security scanners anymore. Can't seem to find any other dos and don'ts out there on the internet. I'm sure I'll find out when I see the doctor for my post-op on Wednesday, but I'm too gosh-darn impatient to wait that long for answers.

    Joan - congraulations on your surgery!!!!!  I see so many CI's, only because I get my hearing aids from the Clarke School in Northampton MA ( used to be called the Clarke School for the Deaf) changed it's name, amid much furor, actually, but it's so, SO cute to see these really, and I mean really little I guess kindergardeners playing and yelling and acting as if their CI's are just natural,  which I think they really are.  All good wishes with yours!

    Oh, it's true.  It's been all over the news...not just from Murdoch.  I believe it was a strategic move because of the upcoming lawsuits.  Baez said in his opening statement that she was a liar...don't think it'll make the appeals court.

    I tend to agree Shirley, we have been inundated with this stuff, since I live in the county the jurors were pulled from. Incidentally, there is a bill in the FL house to prevent jurors from receiving monetary recompense for any trial they are involved in. Great idea.

    Welcome Joan.  I had DBS sugery and I have 2 implants in my brain attached to wires that go down under the skin behind my ear that are attached to an implant over my right boob.  They told me never to have procedures that induce heat of any kind, so am assuming laser is one of them.

    I guess if it's far enough from the implant it would be OK?
