Anyone signed up for Pre-existing Condition Insurance) ?

Options

Although, some states haven't been enacted yet, many have.  This is labeled "transitional" until it supposedly goes into full effect in 2014.  I realize things could change by then, however, for right now, is anyone on this www.pciplan.com If so, how's it going so far?   Have any of your much needed cancer drugs been denied or subjected to a "speciality" clause wherein your entire out of pocket expenses must be exhausted before they pay anything? Are all your services, supplies and procedures that are subjected to a precertification process, been difficult?  Is this considered Group coverage and if you decide to drop this coverage, would it be an issue in getting other coverage?  It just seems like it is EXPENSIVE and may not be adequate coverage for the sick/poor/uninsured as it is designed to be for.  Many doctors now may be offering a reduced price for cancer treatments for someone without insurance.  It may prove to be advantageous to go that route.  I am very interested to know of anyone that has this particular Obama Care PCIP Insurance in place already and can share as to how it is working out for them so far.  Is this really a step in the right direction?

Good questions. I don't have experience with it, but I believe you need to be w/o coverage for 6 months before you are eligible. (I read an article in one of the personal finance magazines and about 15,000 people have signed up for this in the US. The number is so low because no one wants to go w/o insurance for 6 months). A step in the right direction?  I think it provides insurance for people who can't get it anywhere else at all. (so literally, I think it's "better than nothing." I don't think anyone chooses this when they have other options. Wish it was much better but this is an improvement; they got rid of lifetime caps, for example)
