Girls - our current government is destroying our country. We are about to have a carbon tax!!! absolutely unbelievable and it will do nothing for the environment!!!!

Susieq58, unfortunately this is happening right here.  The EPA has been given so much authority to do anything it wants.  They couldn't pass the Cap and Trade bill in the Senate, so EPA is doing it's best to destroy our country.  They have so many regulations even business are weary.  Also, the authority given to them...well, they now can bypass Congress.  They need to be defunded.

This is Obama in his own words.  I love technology.  Oh, and the Wind and Solar Turbines...what do they do to the poor birdies?  It ain't pretty and surely not for a weak stomach or animal lovers.  And Ethanol...look into it.  It costs mucho to make it.  Takes away food.  Makes food prices rise.  Bad for our economy.  Need to take away subsidies and let the free market work.  Of course, these are my opinions.

And who said he's not a socialist?

There's a longer version.  So, when this video came out who did the dems attack?  Joe!  They went after him...dug through stuff trying to find dirt on him...sort of the way they did Sarah Palin (you do not have to like Palin, but it was plain wrong).   Yes, this president is (at least) a socialist.

Now I think I just may bake some chicken breast and cut up some potatoes and carrots and then put slices of onions and strips of green pepper over the two veggies with a little butter and olive oil on them and wrap them in foil and bake them in the oven.  Yummy!  My girls loved the veggies when they lived here.

I love this thread. I don't post much, but I read it every day.

Just imagine how much conversation and animated emoticons this is producing on the other website that cannot be named....

I'l probably be deleted for that comment.

The thing about our carbon (carbon dioxide) tax is that they will tax the big polluters, who will pass the cost on to the consumer, but what forces them to cut pollution? AND carbon dioxide is not pollution. There's some proof that more CO2 in the atmosphere actually promotes vegetation growth, so how can that be bad. What really gives me the sh.ts is that anything they do will not reduce global tempertures considering we are going alone on it. Next step is an ETS - hopefully we will have a new government before that happens. BTW - Al Gore has really f'd everything up with his global warming crap.

Better go and have brekky - shopping to do, washing to do then I'll chill and do nothing. Maybe lamb roast will be on special this week so we can have a roast :)

susieq58-I'm actually speaking of another breast cancer site that has a whole thread devoted to talking about what goes on on this thread. It's not even on BCO.

She's actually my granddog, Athena. She lived with us until about a month ago, until my daughter finally got an apartment that allowed dogs. She is a very sweet dog, and we really miss her.

Hi, Mary, I think they have a corral at their site that might be a fitting place for some too.. Just once was enough to assure me I had zippo/nada/no interest in the posting to go back.  I was, tho, quite amazed at the interest in this particular thread, and the machinations of ways to cause trouble, including sending PM's to the Mods on bc.org.

Well, as th Lion says, I too don't like liars, but some lairs are warm 'n cozyEmbarassed

Athena, I just bought a bottle of Bailey's during my trip to town today.  Mr. otter said I could not buy any ice cream because we're supposed to be on a diet.  I'm pretty sure he meant me... grrrrrr!.  So I didn't buy any ice cream -- I came home with some Bailey's instead.  Hah.  I showed him!

One of my wonderful May '08 chemo sisters is from Tasmania (lewing knows who I'm talking about).  I've always wanted to go to Australia; I added NZ to my list after watching the LOTR series.  (Is that naîve?)  I have a distant cousin who was living in Sydney at last account.  He does not know of me, but I discovered him when reading about some animal disease research being done there.  Just now I googled his name and found a post by his sister to a genealogy forum.  Kind of amazing what you can find on line, eh?

Once again, I have no idea what I will do for dinner (it being my turn).  I am thinking if I can find some of that fake crab meat in the freezer, I'll do crab meat Alfredo with spaghetti instead of linguini (since I don't have any linguini).

Tonight we're watcing "Sanctum", our latest Netflix find. I'd rather have seen this one 3-D, or even IMax; but we're too late.  As for HP&DH2.... I want to see it but not until the crowds thin out.  Mr. otter wants to see the 3-D version, but I think it will be scary enough in regular-D.

    Otter -lol!

I would love to go to Australia. My father used to rave about it. He went there a lot.

YramAL - you are like me. Pets belong in the same lineage and species lineup as humans, IMO. My two dogs were therefore two more daughters for my mother, and they were my children.

I think sometimes it's hard to joke around in print, especially when sarcasm and irony might be involved.

Aw, come on.  I'm gonna stick my neck out and say IMHO RP can post here, or anywhere else, that she wants to post.  The number-one thing that irks me is when someone announces that a particular thread (or forum) is "only" for a certain type of person.  P*sses me off royally, and makes me want to post there anyway. [Edited to add:  EXCEPT for the Stage IV and Palliative/Hospice forums, which IMHO are sacred zones.]

So, let's not chase RP away, okay?  I'm pretty sure blue would think it was okay for RP (or anyone else) to post here, as long as what she (or anyone else) posts is not an unreasonable annoyance.  (Even "annoying" posts don't violate any rules, though.)

I don't think anyone should be discouraged from posting on a public thread by the other people who post there... unless and until that person violates the Rules of Conduct or becomes a super pain in the butt.  RP's animated graphics don't lock up my 'puter, but it's a Mac so it's pretty much bullet-proof.  I do think they're distracting; and I like to come to this thread for the conversation.  But, I've posted pics to illustrate things I'm trying to explain, like white sweet potatoes vs. yellow sweet potatoes, or a map of the U.S. illustrating the counties where people get less physical activity.  I've always assumed that was okay, as long as I provided the sources and didn't violate any laws or Rules.

It's Friday, so let's try to keep the peace.

[ETA:  Sorry I was so far behind with my previous post.  Things moved awfully fast this afternoon.]

I think I'll make myself a margarita and look outside at the gray, 65 degree sky......

The pictures don't freeze my Mac either, but I'd much rather hear what someone has to say in their own words.

i vote for Friday peace as well.

Rainbowpony: If you go fishing, place bait, and get a bite don't be surprised. This business about deliberately opening yourself up for comments is so transparent and tiresome....

My answer to your question of whether you are welcome to post here is that it's not a decision for me to make or an opinion for me to voice. You would do well to remember that when others post on threads that you appear to believe are yours.
