thanks guys about the grandchild, I am a bit*h and my daughter had a conversation and she is not really happy she knows she should have used bc, my granddaughter is 16 months old and I will tell you that the father, the person she married took care of the child for about 9 months and didn't talk to her communicate with her at all basically ignored her and fed her all the time, so she is chunky and doesn't talk, doesn't walk very well, falls and hurts herself all the time, is beautiful and smiles all the time and has a wonderful personality, wants to be held and talked to cause he was on the xbox and watching tv all the time, he was home full time while my daughter worked.  I told her  a long time ago that she needs to spend time with the child that she was developmentally delayed and although she is somewhat better and he has a job now (she supported him for 2 1/2 years) that she will be sleeping this 1st trimester and I am worried about her.  I have distanced myself from that.  She came over on saturday and we talked for an hour and she knows she shouldn't have done this (or she says she is) and he is not hands on she does it all.  She is going to find out what it is like having 3 and basically being a single parent (he is a hunter and she says working 70 hours a week, whatever)...there is so much more I could say but suffice it to say...I have to take care of myself and finish raising my children SO she is going to have to figure it out and oh year I hope it is a girl cause he wants a boy...and I can't stand him......oh and me nauseous all the time...go back on Xeloda on Friday...woo hoo....

Shiela so happy you are hanging with the daughter.....have fun

Diane nice to see you again

Life is drama, isn't it?  Just when you think things have settled down, it starts right back up again.

So glad to hear Michael has been going to SS.  You said your babies are seniors - I take that to mean Michael is doing well in SS?  That's fantastic - so so happy to hear that!   I have a senior too and I can't believe it!  Wasn't she little just yesterday?

Sorry to hear how difficult things are for your daughter.  And sorry you are still having the nausea - isn't there anything you can take for it?  So frustrating.  ((((((((((((((Sandy)))))))))))))))

I'm okay - I was just complaining - the thing I do best.

Now I'm stressing (I stress about everything) about the Relay for Life we recently signed up for.  We did it last year here in our town - small event - bad turnout. There isn't going to be one this year in our town (so far) so we're taking our team on the road to a nearby town.  It's 7/30-7/31 so it's coming up fast and we haven't done any fundraising so I'm starting to stress.  Last year we signed up last minute and didn't get out to go door to door until Labor Day weekend and most people weren't home - duh.  We had some postcards with event info on them that we tied with ribbon to doorknobs when people weren't home.  We wrote our team page URL on the cards hoping some people would log on and donate.  No one did, but we did raise $103 just going door to door for 2 streets.  My friend raised a bunch of money through emails to her friends and coworkers and some of the parents of the kids on our team gave money.  So we raised more than $700 in all.  I want to do more this year.  But we're running out of time!  Why do I do this to myself?

I hope we can do well this year.

Funny - I called in to a conference call of team captains and someone suggested a Miss Relay Lap where for an hour, I guess, GUYS dress up as women and walk around the track and spectators can vote for their favorite by putting money in his purse!   Sounds like a riot.  We have one boy on our team so of course DD wants him to dress up.  We are the Superheroes so I thought maybe he should dress up as Wonder Woman, but I think this is more like pageant where they are supposed to be dressed nice.  Not sure.  Our team already has a Wonder Woman, so DD thought Cat Woman - but I'm not sure she's a superhero.  Funny to imagine though - this kid walking around the track in a Wonder Woman costume soliciting donations in his purse.

I had salmon, spinach, and dessert....two days off of Arimidex and pain is already improving.

Working on the baby shower.  Having a granddaughter come doesn't make me feel old, but all this gender neutral stuff makes me feel ancient.  I remember deciding no weapons or candy or pop for my kids.  My son ate everything into the shape of a gun, used sticks as weapons and is a major candy  and cola addict........ ah, yes, the lesson is moderation in everything....

Planning a shower with no gender suggestive colors......definitely not in my range of expertise.  Took me all day to find an invitation that was non-gender specific.

I'm so happy for you Diane. A little girl...but i guess she wont be wearing pink.

omigosh - you guys are too funny.

Gender neutral - lots of pastels.  So exciting.  Babies...  Glad you are feeling better already!

I didn't give my son toy guns and he made them anyway.  Watched Tarzan. Clayton had a rifle.  Next thing I know, my young son is making a rifle out of his Megablocks (like giant Legos).

    Sorry LS is back...

Oh, no pastels either.  Primary colors only.  Lots and lots of rules.  I am guessing they will name her Pat.

Yikes - no pastels?  They don't want pastels or they don't make pastels?  This is making me feel old.

So you mean Pat as in SNL?

Would be funnier if I could find the video, but here's the transcript.  Do you remember this sketch?

Ahaha - no, I mean Pat as in unisex name.  They don't want pastels and so I am doing red, orange, yellow, lime, and turquoise.  Theme is classic books and vintage toys.  Oh they also are very eco-minded, so I am squeezing that in as well.  That means no paper plates.  Awesome.

Hahaha - we had some eco-minded people come to our wedding - they gave us 2 books - 50 Ways to Save the Earth and 50 More Ways to Save the Earth (or something like that), some plastic bags made out of recycled plastic, a mesh bag that we could reuse when we went shopping - AND - I shit you not (no pun intended) - toilet paper made from recycled paper (a lovely brown color)!

Make sure you use phosphorus-free detergent when you wash the dishes afterward!  (I'm just being silly - we do need to take better care of the planet.  I'm going to go hug a tree now...  oh - there I go again...  I think I'm tired.   I will have you know - I went through the trash after DD's marathons and pulled out the recyclable plastic cups, rinsed them, and recycled them... AND I recycle all my mail - ALL of it - especially the bills....  all right - that's enough - I'd better get to bed...
